- War is coming to the great land of Fódlan. Here, order is maintained by the Church of Seiros, which hosts the prestigious Officers Academy within its headquarters. You are invited to teach one of its three mighty houses, each comprised of students brimming with personality and represented by a royal from one of three territories of Fódlan. As their professor, you must lead your students in their academic lives and in turn-based, tactical RPG battles wrought with strategic, new twists to overcome.
As the story unfolds, your choice of house at the Officers Academy will greatly affect where you stand when the continent becomes engulfed in war. After 5 years, former friends from the academy must now face each other on the battlefield as bitter enemies. Which house, and which path, will you choose?

Right? Edelgard has be Bae since Trailer 1 for me, but knowing we've got a Shounen Good Boi running another house makes me so happy.
I watch this trailer a lot and always repeat that line. Usually lines like that are not only cliche but also cringe worthy. However the way it is voiced sounds heroic.
I think the delivery could have been better if they didn't add "... that's how we win!" at the end.

It's definitely the best Fire Emblem trailer I can recall. The cutscenes in Shadows of Valentia were also pretty great. Loved the cutscenes in Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn too. But I think this one is the best.
I find myself coming back to trailer every now and then. Just really well made with the cutscenss and music. Really hype inducing

Regardless I like it. I was concerned how they'd transition out of the school environment and into the big conflict and having them leave and possibly have their own stories play out is nice.

Apparently it has a quality dub like Echoes did. I am relieved.
Even it it is only half as good as Echoes that still would be great. Echoes dub was phenomenal.
I didn’t care about this game to much. I didn’t even bother to watch the trailers. And on July 26, 2019, I went into GameStop, unaware that the game was out. When I saw the game on the counter, I said, “what the heck,” and I bought it. When I got home, I realized that I got the game the day it came out. All my favorite youtubers were streaming it, and what did I do? I didn’t watch a single one of them. This was my first completely blind playthrough of a video game, and I’m so glad that I did. It was also my first Fire Emblem game, so I got to learn everything by myself. I chose the Blue Lion’s route, and by the time I finished the game, I knew that this was my top game of 2019, and one of my top games of all time. I can say, without a doubt, I am now a fan of the series, and I’ve play a few more Fire Emblem games lately.

It looks like a good start, but do yourself a favor and DON'T, for the love of God, start with Thracia 776
It really is! You might also like some of the older games too. Fire Emblem 7 (or just "fire emblem") is on the WiiU game store, and it's a great classic game. It's the story of Eliwood, Lyn, and Hector. You might also be able to get your hands on Awakening, it's on the 3DS and quite fun. Each game is a little different but the newer games have been great for first-timers as well, with permadeath-off optional modes to help you jump into the series! And if you can ever get your hands on Path of Radiance for the gamecube, DO IT.

Long ago the three houses lived in harmony but everything changed when the imperial army attached. Only the Professor master of the sword of the creator could help us stop them, but when the the world needed them the most they vanished. Five years later Claude and I reunited with the professor: Byleth. Although they are a great swordsman they still have a lot of learn before peace can be returned, but I believe Byleth will stop the war.
My boy Dimitri is looking so awesome! Another reason to chose him over the others!

Jokes aside, I really hope that this will not be just a trailer song, but rather a part of the OST.
I picked this up a month after the release, and I didn't watch any trailer to not have spoiler (it is my first fire emblem game), and I remember being so confused when the first part of the story was all flowers and kitties and the second part of the story was blood and war, lol. But, this game made me grow up, made me realise how bad is the war, specially when you have to face with your friends, but this time you have to see them as enemies. I loved it so much, it's my favourite game of the switch (And I have other good games, so that says many things), I finished it like 4 or 5 times and I'm finishing the church route, I finished the other 3. So far, my favourite route is the one with the golden deers, because with my first route with blue lions I had so many question without answers and the game felt incomplete, but with the GD route I had basically all of the answers I needed. Now, I'm even thinking of picking up old fire emblem games, like fates or awakening. Thank you nintendo. I hope there will be another very good fire emblem game to finish 4 times.❤

Yeah, the awkward designs have become really charming to me all of a sudden. Awkward designs for awkward youthful ages.
It felt less awkward and more... Unfinished. Like there was something missing in their designs. This explains why.
H. J. I think its because everyones outfits was too similar with designs and color schemes (since it was a uniform) so it made them unmemorable aside from their hair. The timeskip could fix that if they get more unique designs ;;;

Now, add that with her lines in this trailer and it sounds dangerously like she's going the "ends justify the means" route...

@@mcd3424 The first part of Awakening (Gangrel) was pretty good. Valm was filler and the Grima Arc was when the writing really slipped. Nothing compared to Fates tho

In my opinion most FE stories range from above average to meh (Fates is an exception, that was straight up a bad story).
The only ones that I think are genuinely good are Genealogy & PoR (I haven't played 12, so Idk about that one).
I remember the hype and concern when "noodle hair good boy" dimitri's timeskip form was revealed. The day 1 dimi fans were vindicated that day

@@spiderheist I am intrigued by the battle system actually, the squad assist in particular.I love large scale battle lol. I avoid any story reveal or discussion because I wanted to go into the game fully blind lol. Kinda sad seeing grown up Dmitri not as noble looking as Edelgard or Claude though since I personally wanted to pick House Blue Lion.

@@Qeisama Same here, also the monastery looks particularly fun. Having more customization units seems great, It lets players more easily play the way they want. I gotta agree there, they did him kinda dirty with the grown up design, he looks like a rat. Im still not sure what house im going to pick, but im leaning towards Blue Lion or Golden Deer (sorry Edelgard)
