I think some android users didn't aware that RCS messages default on Google messages, like you using pixel phone you just need to check on setting same like nothing phone. @@mosemister Your carrier needs to support RCS for you to send RCS messages on iPhone.
If you have android and your carrier doesnt support it, you can use Google Messages and it will backdrop to Google Jibe and allow RCS otherwise you are in the same situation as the iPhone until your carrier supports RCS.
Will this work if people already have an iMessage group chat or do you have to make a whole new group chat?
I guess we were lucky that in our country WhatsApp is the default method. Everyone is expected to have it by default on their phone no matter what. Basically a replacement to text messages at all.
Thank you bro
In the Google keyboard, which theam are you used in this video. I need that Google keyboard theam which you use
Globally or just in US?
Apple not making an effort on the reactions aspect is so Apple.
Green and Blue bubbles only seems to be an issue in America, the rest of the world that mostly use Android don't care about it and Android can change the bubble colour to anything of your choosing.
Now the problem with this is getting android users to enable RCS.
It's automatic in my part of the world
That Pixel Keyboard? What theme is that? I don’t have that on my GBoard.
And there lies the real issue "if your carrier supports RCS" Here in new Zealand, no networks here support the RCS from iphone to Android.
how did you get your keyboard that theme?
An angry ex will be mad if he knows u read them and not respond. It's good and bad . People will get upset cuz u didn't text them back knowing they know u read it. It's a ticking bomb
I just now learned this existed like 2 weeks ago 😅
I honestly can't understand why people care about the green bubble thing. It's messaging. I'm just trying to send a message, can your iPhone receive a message? Fantastic that's all I need. I don't want to know or be friends or message anybody that gives a shit about that stuff.
Which gboard theme are you using?
RCS requires WiFi or mobile data, on Android at least there is an option to still send the message via SMS if the recipient doesn't have this available.
I had complaints that messages weren't getting thro' because of this - this option is switched off by default 😂.
RCS is good but not perfect.
yeah that is a huge downside. there are lots of places where people don't have access to wifi, so you might send a text that never gets received, and in my country sending SMS texts is expensive
It automatically switches. My wife has an android and I have iPhone. When I’m in a bad reception area it switches to sms.
Apples rcs doesnt work on my companys wifi...so most people worh iphones are just turning it off altogether saying it sucks
I assumed Apple would make the experience as bad as possible
Still not working for a lot of people, despite being in the US, updated to iOS 18, on a supported carrier and all that.
I know it's not the main takeaway of this video but my jaw has been on the floor ever since I learned last year that iPhone users were convinced androids had crap cameras because iMessage receives photos sent from android devices in crap quality
It's too bad the read indicators and typing indicators do not work in group chats with iPhone and Android users.
replying to individual messages isn't available in iOS RCS yet
how do i get my rcs to say "connected" status in the message setting . mine just says "setting up" and wont get off of it
Google needs to fix the messages app so replies to a group chat doesn't come in as a separate text.
Also interesting, my iPhone gets full emoji reactions not text reactions
Been trying to get RCS to work since the initial iOS 18 beta and still (18.1 beta 5) can’t get it to work despite my plan/carrier showing support in settings, toggling it on/off, eSIM on/off, etc.
This feature currently isn't working on certain carriers. It is. It was in the beginning and then it stopped. So I think something between the time that the feature was fully integrated with iPhone and starting to work between the two Android and iPhone. Something fell off on the Android side because a lot of people I spoke with they were able to use it and now it doesn't even work between Android users let alone iPhone and Android users. Hopefully they will come up with a fix soon because on my phone it says I'm connected via RCs but any text that I send sends as a SMS
I think some android users didn't aware that RCS messages default on Google messages, like you using pixel phone you just need to check on setting same like nothing phone. Brand like Samsung phone and the others they have separated messages app which need to download Google message and activate theRCS messages on the setting and make as default messages app.
"They can always get an Android phone"? 😂
That True Tone on that iPhone is very yellow lol.
how do I get it from saying "textmessage SMS" to "textmessage RCS"
How did you get only known contacts to show up on Google Messages? I have so many spam contacts😭
Apple is still lagging behind Android when you compare messaging quality of life.
Nobody use SMS this days
i wonder if RCS will get support from game pigeon!
If it wasn't for Samsung completely switching to Google messages, my wife would've been that one petty person that just refuses to use RCS
They (iOS users) can always get an Android device...
That TV background with lugia?
Gotta catch 'em all
5:25 iphone users dont know what a zip file is
Child. You don’t know what life is.
right like zip files are somehow exclusive to phones
Can you believe it - O2 doesn't support RCS on iPhone just now ☹️
Y’know whats crazy? Voice still *doesn’t support RCS despite being a GOOGLE service* yet they’re bugging Apple to use an insecure standard
Is there any way to have RCS on iOS 17?
No.
Is something wrong with read receipts between iPhone and Android? I don't seem to have them. I assume both parties have to have it turned on?
Also the extra compression being done by Google to media sent through Google Messages is egregious. Fix it.
Told iPhone users to upgrade and they are showing up as RCS individually speaking but not for the GC
"Setting up" on my device.how to fix it?
IOS again....copied most of these texting stuff from Facebook Messenger back in the days. It's soo similar with everything being blue and all.
How is caring about whether messages are encrypted or not “petty”?
I like being able to change my bubble color on my Ultra😂, i guess because im older thats stuff doesnt bother me
How can i receive higher quality videos on android sent from an ios device.I toggled the (send message faster) to off and still not working
i have s24 ultra on verizon (unlocked) and RCS does not work. i have tried every tip and trick and it keeps saying setting up
Did you call Verizon support? I would start there, could be on their end.
Are you on a Verizon business or government account? Verizon has recently started blocking RCS on some of these accounts.
You using Samsung's messaging app or google messages? On my mom's S20 ultra, we found out the Samsung Messages app does not support RCS...once we switched her to google messages, RCS lit up perfectly!
Green bubble belong to iphone user not Android users only iphone users have to be dealing with the ugly shade of green
My s22 on RCS still wants me to trim videos down to nothing
Has anyone had issues with reactions on videos? I don’t believe that the iOS update allows that, as of right now. It still shows up like an additional text
Use dark mode for your videos PLEASE
Ugh, mine doesn’t rlly work very well
sms is annoying?
gee you think, as literally NO ONE uses it anymore since the existence of snmartphones?
