Google has already confirmed that the new version of Android will not last 1 year, it is reduced to 5 months, so by April 2025 we already have the Android DV 17 build
All I want is some Icon pack support and more fun themes, and to be honest I'm kind of over the Material UI it's too flat and kind of boring, and we need much better and bouncy animations and transitions. Native camera support for Snapchat, Insta and Tiktok. And also newest notifications should BE DISPLAYED ON TOP! I always need to figure out who messaged me
Personally my biggest issue with android right now is the notification menu quick settings and general design of the notification area. It's ugly and so space inefficient. It's dumb that i can only have 4 quick access tiles on the top, when there's easily space for the normal 8. Definitely looks over function, and even then, the looks aren't super nice.
@@ChrisJohannsen It's also a huge country and minorities tend to cluster in certain areas. Someone living in West Virginia or Idaho might be forgiven for never trying it because there might be no substantial Greek community for hundreds of miles around where they live.
7 years of features and security updates, why is it hard to understand? They've been saying major upgrades are for 3 years only and now, Pixel 6 series getting Android 16 is a surprising matter.
As someone who uses both iPhone and Pixel, the modes feature seems pretty great. Instead of having a separate section for do not disturb and bedtime mode and driving mode and so on it’s all in one place. More streamlined.
Yeah iphone definitely handles that wayyy better since they introduced it. I would also like to be able to limit which apps are available (or even have different home screens for different modes) like iphone does, and also be able to notify my contacts when a mode is on, again like iphone does.
They need to make the messaging app more customizable, and the gallery app needs an update, so it feels like a genuine gallery app, and not so much just an editing app.
@alpaquito I would like to open the photo app, and have it open my collection instead all photos. Adding multiple locked folders, or an option to hide certain albums. When sharing multiple photos both the gallery and messaging app should be able to send as a stack instead of individual pictures that take up a big portion of the chat screen, a good example is how IG stacks photos. For messaging I would like a divider line between contacts instead of one flat boring screen that doesn't show any separation. Different fonts, customized background, and font colors. The presets are lack luster. Those are the primary things I'd like to see changed 😊
@@Jack908r absolutely they have focused on making everything material you, instead of improving things. Making something pretty doesn't make it functional.

I agree. But it's the first developer preview so hopefully they add more. Also, i think they want to release the pixel 10 with a new OS. Give us more customization Google!!
But what does Samsung have to do with it, it is a great company with a good device, but take it as a reference to the android ecosystem, it is absurd, for that there are Google pixels to be the face of android, therefore having the updates to day one is its exclusivity something that could not be done before because a pixel was launched with an old generation of Android and after a month they launch the new one now it will be the other way around with every new phone launch is going to have the new native Android
As a previous 6 user who recently jumped to 8 I am not surprised the 6 is getting a chance for another major update.
