Great talk on how one of the biggest names in comic books today became what he is.
"If you want to be in comics, all you have to do is make a comic."
Idc what anyone says. Bendis is my favorite writer ever. Haven't enjoyed his more recent stuff as much as I'd want to but he's still my favorite.
P.s. i realize im 6 years late.
His Batman universe was really good I think he works better with street level characters like Batman Spider-Man and daredevil
I don’t get the hate for him, I love BMB and think he is great.
Brian admittedly isn't a terribly engaging speaker, but the information he gave was great stuff that I have been wanting to know for a long time!
I love this guys work. He's worth every penny.
It's the easiest thing in the world to just go and make your comic but it feels like it's not when you're older; you have bills to pay, you have a day job, you need to spend time with your wife, your family, friends, etc., etc.
But Bendis! is right; just make the comic. Put it out there. You're in the business of making comics.
Everything else (with exception to the family/spouse time) is an excuse to not getting your comics made.
I tell this to myself more than anyone else and it's still a struggle to get to the drawing board or the word processor but once I do that? Nothing. And I mean NOTHING. Feels better.
i want to read you comicbook geek friend
Damn, someone should have hooked him up with a better mic.
What a living legend
Thank you, Brian. I just knew that you held that much of a character. Thanks for the inspiration!
Great presentation. It is very clear that you speak from the heart and your love of comics.
9:36 the little girl in the batman shirt is me :-)
Sure honey
@@perrypougins379 that would be a weird thing to lie about
@@hydrangeas_inmy_hair8982 yea but due to there being not much evidence that it ISEN'T you, I'll trust you.
@@perrypougins379 fair enough, but I do have proof
@@hydrangeas_inmy_hair8982 eh i'm yo lazy to even check it out
I'm gunna go be a comic creator now. see ya later guys
@Shiibirdzz Sukan Studying it at university so I'm on my way!
@@eyes5ib yo buddy good luck to you. Hope to see something from you soon
Atta Boy!
thanks man :)
my man lookin like michael chiklis, this dudes name was on every comic in the mid 2000s
he's a fucking legend
Hi uncle Bryan! From Henry Leo
Why didn't Bendis mention his amazing series "Powers," even once in this presentation?
+Ryan VanDalinda it didnt air until a year after this was filmed
I ment the comic "Powers," not the TV adaptation.
All his comics tell the same exact story pretty much, but Brian is still a good writer. I liked his New Avengers & Ultimate Spider-Man (Comic Book NOT The TV Show) series, but I loved Powers! That was his best series.
fucking magical
He tells pretty much the same stories in his book.
Well, he can't change his past to come up with new stories to tell.
Wtf bendis at his 12years old drew better than frank miller
I miss my wife
cool
Well at least he was jewish if you are Jewish your people will hug you and help you because this how they work together like asians somehow
One of the worst writers in the comic book industry.
He’s a hack. Has been since day one. He doesn’t even seem to know what a hero is.
У меня подозрения, что так называемые "бестселлеры" появились за счёт самой цены комикса. В принципе мне было интересно увидите персонажей, кто продался Netflix. Ненависть ботанов всегда с ним.
He should do an updated talk about how he ruined the industry
Part of Marvel comics not anymore.
Somewhere in heanen, there are two other guys, from Cleveland, who are greatly ashamed of his Superman writing.
Bendis is the worst comic story teller ever.
Destroying legacy characters to platform his own cringey character.
Get Out Of here
His sales tell a different story.
So uh, how many comics have you sold?
@@towermoss
I ask you the same question, how many comics have you sold???
thats right none.
Its not about how many comics he has sold, the quality of the product.
Sales don't necessarily determine that the product being sold is going to be good or not.
Go back to commerce studies
@@Tehillim29 he has also destroyed The Superman Family.
@@bradleyrenfroe2776 indeed he has,
you want to check out a channel called I Love Comics as he is doing a Gabby Awards on the Worst Comics etc of the Decade, you can vote Bendis Comics you haven't enjoyed
Tehillim29 his daredevil run is really good. You can’t really deny that.
He's uh...bigger than I thought he would be. I didn't know writing Eisner-winning comics paid in cheeseburgers.
And then he ruined dc
Don't know about that but his work on Ultimate Spider-Man is one of the definitive runs for the character and a complete masterpiece. Shut you're mouth saying he "rUinEd" anything.
