      @@Rubinkys I never worried about the flu, no. And certainly don't now. If the news pointed all their cameras at car crashes and told you if you choose to drive you're choosing to put everyone at risk, people would suddenly be terrified and feel guilty driving. The flu has always killed people, covid hasn't killed any more than any flu has any year before it if you actually look at the data. The number of deaths in the U.S. for instance has gone up within a certain number (around 10-15k more each year I believe) along with population growth and that number hasn't moved even a little. Also, heart disease, pneumonia and diabetes have all dropped (for the first time in 40plus years) at the EXACT rate covid has risen, all while "the flu" as we have known it has... ready? COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED. FLATLINED WHEN COVID "ARRIVED". They merely shined a light on something that has always been there. Covid 19 is simply a new strain of a virus we've dealt with our entire lives. Protect the old and sick, and LEAVE THE REST OF US YOUNG AND HEALTHY ALONE. Not to mention, the last year has marked the biggest transfer of wealth to companies like Amazon ever in history. Makes you think a bit doesn't it? Almost makes you want to USE YOUR BRAIN 🧠🤔 😁

    People think that they cannot do things, simply because they do not know where to start. Information overload is a real thing, especially in todays world of seemingly infinite distractions. It's all about breaking things down into smaller parts, and analyzing them. To truly understand something, we must look at the smaller components that make up the whole equation. Same goes for time, something I am still learning is that to not be overwhelmed with life and to remain peaceful, you must treat each day one step at a time, literally and metaphorically. Focus on the moment. Seek clarity and understanding in things that you wish to, and for God's sake, do not forget how much potential you have. Remember, everyone who ever did anything amazing, was doubted by everyone around them, and a lot of our self doubt, comes from the fact that we tend to believe what others say at times we shouldn't. All I wish by commenting here right now is that maybe one person even reads this and decides to go on with something that they have been doubting that they could do for some time, and that it takes you on a journey that changes you life for the better, and I, will do my best to do the same.

The end of the video is the most important part of being an artist. This guy gets it. The entirety of this video is just to give the masses the lens to finally see what is possible in all of us....drawing or anything else.

      Drawing is easy if you do what artists do, copy eachother.
      I take 6 different types; Avatar (the Last Airbender), Kipo, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Snailords - for an example.
      I take the basic lines; facial outlining, nose, ears, etc. From one style.
      Then I get more detailed with things like reshaping the eyes to be more pronounced, lips, nose, etc from another artists.
      Better details like the iris and reflecting from another artist.
      Shape and style of hair from another.
      And I continue combing things until I have a sort of blueprint for really making it my own.
      Like, all my characters have different types of fantasy ears.
      Mermaid ears, fairy ears, elf ears, etc.
      And then the shadowing and shading is all automatically me.
      As is coloring.
      Then by the end, you can't tell what it's origins are.
      Copying artists into something else is what we call inspiration and reimagining.
      You can also just take a picture, and draw it, then detail it differently. Like making it look cgi like Final Fantasy or WoW.
      Everyone can draw, if they take the time a patience.
      True artists don't say "practice makes perfect," we say "practice makes better."
      Because we're always striving to be better and improve.
      But it does take time and effort, and a lot of self love.

    I draw for fun, and if you're young or just starting off you should try to remember this:
    Grades in school mean next to nothing, if you get a bad grade in arts don't let that destroy your interest in it.
    This nearly happened to me, but luckily I was able to avoid it.
    Extra note: Always finish a drawing, I personally keep all drawings in a little notebook with their date of when I drew them. While you're drawing something you might believe that it isn't good, or that you can do better but if you finish the drawing and look at it again a few months/years later you'll be able to look at it in a different way and truly appreciate it.
    I also love sharing my drawings with someone, it's not needed to have fun but it personally makes me motivated to get even better, and the feedback/compliments you'll receive will be really helpful :)

    People really think drawing is some impossible task when they've never spent any time doing it, but the way he demonstrated it really is all there is to it. I tend to draw more realistic or stylized images, but can confirm that the process is the exact same. I learned how to draw noses by copying one I saw in a comic book of mine, and all I do now is follow the same process making slight alterations when I want something that looks different.

    • @Silencer796
      @Silencer796 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    • @PlsSpankMeh
      @PlsSpankMeh ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Silencer796Lol, if it takes you 5 years to get better at drawing, you're doing something wrong or you're really not drawing to improve like you said you are. If you're dead set on being better, you'd be focusing on REAL things that can make you better like learning Anatomy, perspective, color theory, etc... instead of drawing freestyle or copying a reference with no real objective. Sure, you're going to get a sense of it, but it can only take you so far. It's like doing an action, unable to understand what you're doing. Take for example, sweeping. Your mother told you to sweep and you did. The question is, are you sweeping the right way? Lots of people think that by just drawing everyday, you'll get better, but that's technically incorrect. If you do it the right way, you'll improve faster. If you don't, then you're going to spend more time.

    Seeing the images of those stroke recoverers kinda reminds me of how my great-grandma didn't realize she could draw until she was in her 80s. She knew she could color, which she had done when she was a kid, but she never knew up until that point that she could draw. I gotta say, for someone who went that long without knowing she had that kinda talent, she certainly made drawings that made her look like she did it for years. I miss her so much, but at least some of those memories of her are in the drawings of hers that we now have in our possession

    I told a friend I wished I could draw, he said I could I just didn't know it. I tried and I like the result, it was terrible in hindsight but I thought it was good, he gave me tips and encouraged me (while probably cringing inside at my attempts) and I got far better, I love art now so much and I'm actually quite good. Art inspired me to take up photography and I'm really good at that, I knew I had to practice and now I'm professional level. I'm neurodivergent though and that has helped (and hindered) me a lot.

  • @madeleinerenee8505

    I started when i was two. The first drawing I was proud of was a horse that looked like a severely underweight cow. I learned how to draw an actual horse head at age 7 from a McDonalds Americal Girl Doll book (the toy that came with the meal). Now I am drawing horses that are hard to tell from the original picture and am in a project talent class and intend to go to an art school(if God provides the money) and be an illustrator. You always start out small. No one starts out drawing like Picasso's realistic paintings. That's just not how it works. You have to slowly build up the skill and experiment with different techniques and find your art style as you grow older and more independent in your thinking and you start to try new things that you madebup yourself.

(( i think it was sailor moon or mew mew power )) it was pretty hard drawing those anime people (( I was 7 or 8 )) and now I'm great at it and I'm 10! You can be a small artist at a small age, ^-^
      So believe in yourself! You will start small, the draw something so big you might draw a tv series! You will do just great with just a little imagination and keep trying until you think it's perfect! (( p.s try drawing anime, it's super challenging XD I dare you to draw anime!! ^3^ ))

I have a super observant friend who is homeschooled and she had never had classes. She's a better artists than I am! I don't think certain people were born naturally able to draw but i do believe something people were born with a specific brain type to pick out color's and shapes more than others while other have to learn how to look for that kind of stuff like me and they base their work off of that.

    • @madeleinerenee8505
      @madeleinerenee8505 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha believe me I had a small anime phase. Black butler, vampire knight, death note.... all the goodies. It is very very difficult as drawing all people is as well. Drawing a random person can be more simple than drawing a specific one. If you draw a well-known person, if you don't get every single little gesture perfect, it messes up the whole piece and makes it look off and not quite right. Something I think all artists can never have enough practice on.

  • @RobertEnterprises

    The most important thing to learn when trying to draw, is to fully incorporate the White of the paper you're drawing on. What I mean is this - When we try to draw, for example a human head and face, or maybe a cat, dog etc, we draw the full shape, i.e. we draw a full circle for the head and try to add things to it, or we draw the full shape of a cat and then try to add a tail etc, but what Graham Shaw wants us to realize, and something I realized after seeing countless of videos etc, is that you don't need to draw the full shape, but rather, you need to utilize the White of the paper. Just like in the video, you draw a few lines where you want the neck to be, or the ears to be etc, and then the rest of it is already filled in by the White background of the paper. This is the biggest barrier that most people have when it comes to drawing. A person needs to realize that most drawings create the illusion that a full picture is in front of you, even though its just a few drawn lines that represent the basic shape of an object, and then the paper itself fills in the rest and creates a full image. Everything is in the imagination. When you draw, you should be relaxed and not overthink it. It takes practice, and of course, a lot of imagination, but this video is correct, everyone can draw, you just have to realize that a lot of drawings are creating the illusion of a full picture, even if only a few lines exist on the paper itself :)

    my hypothesis is that when drawing these cartoons, each step or stroke is computers like a character when handwriting. the nose is a C, the eyes are obviously 6s etc. this means that instead of the brain thinking "ugh, I can't draw" it's thinking "hey, I can write characters like this!" and the lines end up very clean and confident, just like handwriting.

I have little talent for doing original paintings, but I am surprising myself at how well I can copy (for my own enjoyment). Now I want to do more challenging things, especially after seeing this humble man prove to me I CAN do what I thought I couldn't! Thank you, Sir!

    He's right. I took a drawing class for non-artists in college. In general, NONE of us could draw for beans on day one. By the end of the semester, most of us had improved tremendously, some downright dramatically, by following the teacher's instructions. A couple didn't improve at all; it was obvious they weren't following what the teacher had been telling us. We were told over and over that talent will only take you so far; ability can be acquired and developed by learning and practicing. As an old fart, I see that this applies to a lot of things.

    1. Practice
    2. Practice

      The ability to _draw_ and the ability to *create* are two different things. Anyone can draw by numbers if they follow directions. Practice is as necessary as breathing for any venture in life, however practice alone will not make you great at anything. You have to have talent to start off with. Practice allows you to hone that talent.
      A seed will not grow unless you feed it, water it, give it sunlight, and nurture it overall. You do have a gift. Most people do not have that desire to practice and that is a barrier that prevents most of us from reaching our full potential. I've been able to draw since I was 5 years old. Long before I started any kind of practice regime. My creativity *IS* a gift and blessing from God. I have to practice and keep practicing until I no longer have breath in my body. There is never a time where you have "made-it." Once you think that, you've lost it and not only will the quality of your work start to plateau, but it may even start to decline. Every famous artist that I have met has told me the same thing.

There I got an F for the tasks given, I learned I can not draw and never picked up a pencil to draw for my personal pleasure. School destroyed my hobby. Though school is important, don't let you kids hang if they face something like that. Grades tell next to nothing once you leave school.

      Make an image in your head. And just place the image on the paper kinda like a imaginary blue print. Also skill in drawing requires a love for it it takes around 30 minutes to complete a drawing for me. It mostly requires a creative imagination and the slightest of movement slowly etching out your imagination when you first start never go for Leonardo da Vinci level start with a small simplistic drawing a fish with a few hints of creativity tossed in. Lastly draw your emotions something that describes you as if your an extrovert a loner of sorts you'll draw something that in you mind means alone, soloist never ever brag about skill cause any "artist" would encourage the lesser giving them confidence to learn new ways to draw shading, fading, shadowing, ect to get a more defined picture ps if you think you can't well I'm 13 and I am surrounded by people giving me ideas in my opinion to draw well you have to learn to place emotions into your fingers your pencil, ect
