    Great video.
    My mom has HBP and CKD 3B. I'm trying to find out the need for 3 different BP medications. Her primary doctor prescribed Amlodipine and Hydralazine. When mom found a nephrolgist, he prescribed Valsartan, after a few visits with him (her BP happened to be high those times... white coat maybe?). He prescribed the medication without knowing what other meds she was taking. After him telling us(and my reading) that it'll also help her kidneys, we didn't question it.
    She's now taking Hydralazine 3 times per day, along with Valsartan and Amlodipine for BP, Levothyroxine and low dose aspirin.
    I think that the BP meds are too much.

    Thank you dr great info. I have been on PPI, Omeprozole for over thirty years for hiatus hernia. without knowing the side effects on kidney function. A few weeks ago I was diagnosed with CKD. I have been experiencing anaemia and other debilitating symptoms. Why didn’t my doctors monitor this medication, over the long term, if they knew it could cause serious kidney problems; they could have put me on another Medication. I feel I should at least put me on another drug, but I am still prescribed Omeprozole. Any advice going forward please?

    My brother just got diagnosed with stage 3 CKD, he is on Amlodipine 10mg, is this enough? His BP is now very much under control though
    My second question is l heard you talk about the you not being able to do the ultrasound for the cough, why? People with CKD should not do ultrasounds?
    And the third question is l heard CKD patients should not take cough syrup medications, is that right? and if it is what then can they take for cough? Please answer all three, my brother is in Africa and l am educating myself to help him. Thank you.

    • @kathycorcoran1589
      @kathycorcoran1589 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You can't cough during an ultrasound because you have to hold very still . Coughing makes you move. Cough syrups raise your BP. It usually says it right on the bottle. Always read the fine print. I would imagine that if his BP is under control then the amount is adequate. No need to over medicate. Hope this helps. He could suck on a piece of hard candy. That helped me. He should try it at home first laying down.

      When I had anemia, my dietitian put me on a high-iron diet, I switched to using cast iron cookware (get even more iron), and took a Super B complex vitamin with Vitamin C. This may not work for everyone since mine was caused by very low iron. It took months to get over it 100%, but I try to keep up with iron in my food to prevent it.

    Can any one there interpret my problem. I have almost all the symptoms of CDK stage 5 except edema, aceytes and vomiting but my results don't indicate anything worse what is my problem? I wish there was a provision of sending the results. My creatinine is a bit high 95 but doctor said it was because I was taking it for body building. My problem is pain in the bones and cold feet and hands. Cbc test showed normal results can anyone help me.

    • @gillhall7590
      @gillhall7590 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Spinach is very high in oxalates, which is hard on the kidneys. I would eat cauliflower, mushrooms, green beans, onions, lettuce, cucumber, radish, celery. No potatoes, eat low carbs, no cakes, cookies, bread etc. half cup lactose free semi skimmed milk, no cheese.
