Just throwing this out there, a million dollars quite possibly IS a lowball offer for a productive farm.
Maybe the person writing the story doesn’t realize how much those acres of land can really go for.

Lol i live in wichita! The skys during the day and sunsets are also breathtaking, but yes right outside of wichita the night sky is indescribable.

Hum, we are not sure what the aliens are up to; good or bad, but they want "protection". Their "ship" seems to travel at midnight just fine, so what is keping them here. 🤔 I hope the local hardware store maintains a healthy lightbulb and light fixture inventory! ☺
