I disagree with you. Mary shouldn’t have to pay for everybody else’s kids. True also, Mary could look out for what is best for the family and she didn’t need the house in Vegas being so large, or the house in Arizona being so large that could’ve been for Christine‘s kids. And Robyn can go live in a shed for all I care.
@@lakeshoreshepherds741 Why should Meri get less than the other wives when she put in more than the other wives. Meri made more money than any of the wives or Kody before they left Vegas. My understanding was that the Arizona house was so that there would be enough space for the family to gather & also for Meri's LLR business. It seemed that Meri was trying to continue her role as first wife & help the family, Kody just decided he didn't care to want any wife but Robyn. It always amazes me that these women don't see the past history of polygamy in their own families & is accepting of any crumbs of attention they may get.

She accepted the responsibility of helping to support the entire family from the get go. Also, Meri didn't become a big earner until she started her clothing business several years into the show. Before that she made little $ and Janelle was the big earner. Janelle didn't live lavishly and neither did her kids.
Polygamy is the issue. It’s not a religion, it’s a cult.
This dynamic happens everyday in monogamous marriage & divorce. The husband cheats, disposes of the wife and children and remarries to "start all over". Janelle Brown herself said it best, "This is not about polygamy. This is about human nature." The men that do this are pieces of shyt. No matter what the marriage dynamic.

Not to diminish the shame and horror of the Browns' experience at all, or defend these people, but I'm pretty sure there are thousands of families in the country where 'Dad' moves on to a new partner, creates a new family and ignores earlier commitments. The circumstances aren't identical, of course. I'm just saying that absent fathers are a plague on humanity.

In Vegas Meri and Cody were running an MLM and she needed to be able to entertain for this income. My understanding is that this was a major part of their income at the time. The fancy car was Cody's reward for the MLM success which was mostly due to Meri

The TLC money was to a LLC, so I assume all that went in. Using your logic, they all contributed to Mykelti's wedding.

What judge allows adoption of kids when he is married to someone besides their mother? It isn't like Robyn was also giving up her kids and Kody was to be sole guardian. Maybe this has happened but it seems unlikely and a weird story to tell a judge. "Yeah, I am married to this other woman and we have a kid. But, I am living with this other woman and want to adopt her kids and have joint custody with their mom." Whaaat?
@@kirielbranson4843 there are no marriage requirements for adoption in several states, one of which is Nevada where Robyn’s three bio kids were adopted. The Brown’s had been public for a while by that point and they all went to the adoption as a plural family. Therefore, your argument about a judge not granting custody if Kody and Robyn weren’t married is statement which holds no merit

To all the people complaining about the size of Meri's house if you check the records the builder specified the house sizes. She could not downsize. Plus that house was being used for the MLM Meri was runnning with Cody in Vegas. Do you really think the man who drove a sports car while his children went hungry didnt have anything to do with what Meri wanted in her house???

It makes it way clear now that the reason why Meri & Kodi divorced. Because Robin knows that the legal wife gets all the good stuff. So she pressured Kodi to divorce Meri. Robin becomes the legal wife and now she and her kids get all the nice things.
The only one whom came out ahead was Rob em and her kids. All the rest lived in poverty and like homeless refugees while attempting to work, or watch a ton of the other sister wives kids to help. Christine was easy to take advantage of, because she seemed to be the most invested in the cult from childhood and tried to stay sweet. Sadly, that caused her kids to be taken advantage of, too. Meri must have learned how to fight for herself in her experience growing up in the cult. Janelle was the most cooperative and sharing, but she ended up being tricked by Robyn and Kody and ended up with nothing. Robyn used a different tactic of digging her claws into the husband and using her body to get what she wanted. There was very little family cooperation overall since the resources and time were limited and some of the women decided that they had better grab more than their fair share probably because they didn't know what the future held.
Christine took advantage of American taxpayers, claiming welfare for her kids, not putting Kody on the birth certificates, so he was not financially responsible, and taking food stamps and claiming bankruptcy.
Robin could have gotten a job to help, and Meri worked so she can get what she wants.
Poor Mykelti she had to share a room and wear handme downs. Meri made most of the money for alot of years and yes she only had 1 child so of course that one child won't have to share a room or wear handmedowns. I don't blame Meri the one to blame is Kody being he was spreading his seed and having more kids than he could care for.
She was right about a Brown family reunion. Kody only considers Robyn and her kids plus his two his family! I wish they all would be cancelled already!

My personal opinion is that the money should have been split between the wives not how many kids each of them had. Mary should not have been penalized just because she only had one and the others had more. The others did not have to have more but they chose to have more. Mary wanted more but couldn't have more. The number of kids in the family should not affect how much money that family gets.

Kody and Robyn make me sick, I really believe that Meri gets blamed for a lot of things that she really has no part of. Yes, Meri got a nice home just like the other ladies .Also, Kody and Robyn received a ton of money from Meri. I believe Meri was treated the worst out of all of the ladies. Meri made lots of money on her own, and I think she paid more into the family budget just because she was only able to have one child. She had worked just as much as the other ladies. Yes, Christine and Janelle had more children than Meri is not Meri fault. Let's say that Meri worked and made 200.00 a hundred dollars a week ,she should keep 25.00 dollars and give the rest of her money that she worked for to the other ladies because she only had 1 child, just like the home in Las Vegas, Meri should have a little 2 bedroom home built, and when they went to sell the home, the other ladies would have made thousands of dollars profit and Meri would have made nothing to compare to the other ladies, I didn't really like Meri, but looking back and the way she was treated and Meri always had a job, where Robyn had never worked, if I were Meri I would be upset that she is working to support Robyn and her kids. I really don't believe Meri and the money that she made didn't become a real problem until after Robyn came into the family, Robyn brought 3 kids and over 30k in debt that the ladies ended up paying off and supporting Robyn children. I just feel sorry for Meri now that I have seen just how much she was used and abused, not just by Robyn and Kody, but by everyone in the family. Even at Christmas and the kids' birthdays, Meri always had the best gifts for all of the kids,even when it was the kids' birthday. Meri was always there gift in hand all of the time..

@Lady.Scorpio7 I just feel that Meri has really been taken advantage of, it's took me years to get to this point, Meri has only one child and would have loved to have at least one more and she has spoken for years that if she could only have 1 more child how happy she would be. Meri was also in the beginning , and she was only able to give kody just one child, Meri has said that she would never want more than 2 children because they are so expensive, so it was not like she wanted 5-7 children because they are expensive, and the fact that she was only able to conceive only one child, kody told her when her daughter was like 11 years old that's she was not contributing to the family, when they were
9 children that they kody and his 3 wives could not afford to feed and barely put a roof over their heads,Meri worked since the time she met kody,there were many of times that Meri and Janelle were the only ones working and Christine was home watching all of the kids. Christine said that she was watching children 6 under the age of 4 and 3 of them were less than 7 weeks apart from had them Monday through Friday for 10 hours a day and weekend she would always have a few if Meri and Janelle worked the weekend, after a 5 or 6 left home and started a life for themselves, they would express especially Janelle children how hard they Mom has to work and would work for weeks with a day off, when asked about their Dad at that time, it's took a while but they would say that Meri and Janelle worked all of the time while Christine was the one who took care of us and would try to make things fun for them. The kids said that they were long periods of time when my Dad was not working and that he would not help Christine with us kids, one of the kids said that my Dad got mad at Christine because she should get a part-time job in the evening after the others ladies picked up their children, kids did say that Christine did get a job working from 11pm until 6am and Christine oldest son would get the kids up, and Meri and Janelle would drop off their kids and her oldest son at the age of 12 would make breakfast for all of the kids, the children whom were old enough to attend school, he said that all of his brothers and sisters at the time were being home school by Christine, just imagine taking care of kids toddlers and infants for 10 hours a day also being responsible for their education the care of making all of their meals, doing you best to make sure that they are all happy..and then 3 days a week working after a 10 hours of kids and there were many of them, having to go work another job, I believe the daughter said that her Mom only worked 6 hours but it took 30 minutes to get to the job and 30 minutes to get home. One of the kids said that Janelle was really worried about Christine, when she she going to sleep her health and she was also a few months pregnant at the time, it's got so bad because Janelle could not figure out why kody was not working or even managed to keep a job and never offered to help Christine even when she needed his help, I believe that Janelle had enough of kody and how he was abusing Christine that's she took her children and left an stayed with her Mom for a few months. I believe there's were times when Meri was working 2 jobs just to bring in more money, so Christine didn't have to work ..I believe this took place in the first 10 years that kody Meri Janelle and Christine was the family, Robyn didn't come into the family just a few years later. I can not imagine living a life like this ,it's would be a cold day in hell, and I would have to take a fork and poke my eyes out before I would even think of living a life like this, I just don't understand what theses smart intelligence ladies were thinking.

Raising kids is a full time job with long hours and it's exhausting, with no pay. I watched all of my nephews, plus my own three, full time while my sisters worked. They were all under the age of 5, I have alot of respect for all that Christine did for their family. I think it's so evil how Kody and Robyn used the three women for financial gain for themselves. The ladies deserved so much better. They all contributed to the family in different ways, except Kody and Robyn. All those toxic two did was take from everyone.
6:00 Brown family reunion only for Kody, his wife and her children, his siblings and their partners, his mom, his neices and nephews....just those who are still on the "Brown family island" not any of those who left or are out of favour with Kody......I can almost guarantee none of the OG3 wives were invited, none of the OG13 children were invited, none of the grandchildren were invited and whats the betting his nephew Ben wasn't invited either..........
Janelle’s kids have Kody on their birth certificates…..I think Christine didn’t have the gumption to force Kody to do it.
I don't think it was up to Christine. I think Kody bullied her during all of the pregnancies.
I will never forget when they were planning the Vegas homes and Meri "needed" the wet bar. Christine had been conservative with her choices so she could upgrade the exterior. I nearly passed out when Kody tried to convince Christine to give the excess to Meri. It was most definitely not just Meri making those decisions, it was Kody too.

I can see Mykelti's point of view regarding the money growing up. There should have been a base amount for each woman to live and then more allotted according to number of children. Kody himself said he could not have rich kids and poor kids.............another example of saying one thing and doing another. I don't blame Meri for not wanting to live close to Robyn.

So this whole thing where Meri got the BEST of everything and only had 1 child while Christine and Janelle were struggling is kind of crazy for her to say especially since she was young and really didn't know abt the financial situation.
There were ONLY 3 women who worked while Ms Robyn stayed home collecting WAY MORE than the others. Christine and Janelle had 6 children each and Meri had 1. They all worked, paid their OWN bills, contributed equal amounts (Janelle said Meri out in the same amount as them) to the "family fund" so that their children had decent lives. Then Robyn comes in with 3 children and has 2 more. She MAYBE had a job in Utah as a health aid but once in Nevada didnt work AT ALL and occupied ALL of Kody's time. Looks like her only job was doing Kody while the 3 other wives all had to financially support her and her children. Mykelti says that Meri took more $ than she should have but if that is the case she should have contribuated less $ to the "family fund" right????
Leon wanted to go to a good school but was shut down by Kody and Robyn cuz it wasnt fair to the others. Hummm, so each kid got a set amount for college right or better yet each separate family got a set amount for their kids to go to college. Let's pretend both Christine and Janelle got $150,000 each to split amongst their 6 and Robyn got $125,000 for her 5 why couldn't Meri get the $60,000 (I think that is what she was asking for regardless it would be less than $125,000) ? Meri wanted to go back to school I'M SURE she would have just contributed less of HER HARD EARNED MONEY to "family fund" to pay for it but she was shut down AGAIN. So if Meri wanted the same size house and her child had better clothes and 💩 while contributing the same as Christine and Janelle is that her fault that she couldn't have more children? I think Mykelti has such a hatred towards Meri that she is willing to play alongvwith everyone else and put all the blame on Meri while in reality Meri is the one who gotvthe short end if the stick. Her brother's wife slides into her marriage, Kody used Meri as the excuse she was the one who baited the women (we know that is a HUGE LIE), Meri had problems conceiving the BOTH Christine and Janelle get pregnant before her, Kody wants Robyn so he plans a date and makes it look like OMG Meri look who's here we should talk to her. Kody "dates" Robyn for 9 months (which is not normal in their religion), spends weekends hours away from whole family to "get to know" Robyn and kids, plans a HUGE wedding for Robyn and him when lnly 1st wife gets that, spends all his time with Robyn and her kids which by the way never fully integrate into the family, forces a divorce on Meri so that Robyn (wife #4) becomes wife #1, and then Kody completely abandones original family so that he can give his "youngest children" attention he NEVER gave the others. Meri got screwed in all this. He promised a united family before Robyn the kids were close and also had relationships with him. This was his "Dream" I'm sure. What wife really wants to share their husband? She did it and sure there were issues but WTF he lied and went back on all he promised Meri and the other 2. So IMO Mykelti can hold onto her hate for Meri but in all reality she needs to open her eyes to who REALLY took $$$$ from her and siblings and also who destroyed the closeness of their family and that would be Kody and Robyn

Mckelty should stop blaming Mari for what she didn't have. Christine was quite aware of the finances. She knew six children was going to stretch the finances and so did Janelle. She needs to stop whining and move on. A lot of us wore hand me downs and were not still whining on.

I’m sorry Mykelti but your mom knew very well how polygamy worked. She said she had marriage offers from other men but she didn’t want to be the first wife because she didn’t want to be the only one married to him (the way things change) and she purposely wanted to be the third wife. Also, no one told her to have so many kids. I think in their family, whoever had the last child got most of the attention because Kody was more willing to help with infants. That’s why she was so upset when Robyn came along (rightfully so) because it took away from her being the wife that got most of the attention by having Truly. Mykelti needs to direct here issues at her biological parents.

I was watching a re run yesterday (UK).When thr family spoke at a University. Christine told the students that Kody said he would give her money if she wants to leave. They just lied lied and lied.
Regarding money spent in the past, over and done can't be undone. Blaming Meri isn't fair to her, Kody made and approved the household budget. It's all on him, he set up the dynamic and the women all agreed to it. Whether they liked it or not, they went with it not only when he set it up but for years after. This is all on Kody Brown.

I can see both sides of the debate over Merry having an equal share in the money. She only had one child yes, but she also contributed a lot of the income to the family. So, Merry should have a right to spend the fruits of her labor. On the other hand, 6 children cost way more than 1 child. So, the money should go to where there is the greatest need. But, if I was Merry, I would have kept my money in my pocket, paid for myself and my one child and wished the others good luck. My money would have NEVER gone into a collective pot to pay for my husband's concubines and their needs.
It's the plyg way, though. Women have a bunch of kids, commit welfare fraud, and work to give $ to "the fam-lee". Then, they get whatever the man decides to give them; which is why they have to use welfare,in the first place. To raise HIS kids, because HE isn't going to actually support them all. It's bondage!
