I will think less of you or won't love you if you don't.. this is our only chance at restarting .. i might lose Robyn's kids if you don't and I'll never forgive you .. etc etc. And then he LIED some more when he said it doesn't change their "spiritual commitment" - which ALLOWS him to ostracize her while staying "sealed". My guess... it was Robyn who first suggested it .. and ... made Kody "think" it was his idea... for 2 reasons: 1. to get back at her ex - she was busy rewriting her history with him and .. 2. she wanted head wife status and when she stroked Kodys ego about having her kids take his last name thereby "saving" them all... he couldn't resist being HER "hero". Kody then thought hmmm.... I can remove Meri's legal status and rights, keep my assets and marry the woman who worships the ground I walk on - protecting MY interests... cause he KNEW the others were NOT happy. He didn't want anyone walking away with anything. Just my opinion.

It's wild because I have been going back and watching older episodes...
The episode when Christine calls everyone over to her house and they all confront Meri about purchasing her B&B..(Because She nevertold them she closed and Janelle found out on vacation by some random women).
While everyone's piling in/before the meeting starts, Kody seems nervous and is all like, "I didn't say anything about anyone! Why are we all here?" And Meri looks at him, rolls her eyes and is like mocking him.. insinuating to me that he's absolutely said stuff about other people to her more than 1x. That wasn't even why they were getting together but going back now with a magnifying glass, I caught it.

They way she behaved in her previous marriage, running up all that debt; the way she behaved when she left that marriage, doing everything she could to separate her kids from their father; and the way she behaved when she first joined the brown family, blaming children for not showing overflowing joy at the prospect of her pregnancy and then holding a grudge against a child for that for years! I’m sorry. You can’t blame polygamy for Robyn’s behavior. She’s been a horrible human for years.

I worked in crisis intervention for years and from day 1, I always said Meri reminded me of the people i worked with who were in abusive relationships. She has so many of the signs of an abused wife who has been beaten down emotionally and mentally

I always wondered if the catfish was a setup so Kody can have a reason to divorce Meri since she was his legal wife. After hearing this person knew Robin I believe my feelings were right. What’s going on with the family has been Robin and Kody’s plan along. They just didn’t think how fans would notice and dislike them. Once the TLC contract is over Robin will be running to play victim!

In this conversation she was talking about her friend Jen. That she's only trusted Jen for the past decade because she's always had Meri's back and doesn't go around talking trash about Meri. Listen again starting at 12:00-12:23 minutes of the video.
From the start Robyn showed herself dishonest and untrustworthy. It was made clear early in the show that one of the rules of polygamy and a big no, no is to kiss before marriage. It’s seen as adultery because the woman is kissing a married man and the man is stepping out on his wives. Then to kiss/accept a kiss on the day Christine was laboring to give birth to Kody’s child was enough to reject her outright. But that wasn’t all. She wanted Kody to keep secret that he picked out the wedding dress. She basically wanted him to lie to his wives. She accepted an elaborate wedding when she knew what the other wives got. Oh I could just go on and on. And then she plays victim and claims she did everything she could to be a good sister wife and fit in with the OGs.
Exactly Robyn broke all the rules she wasn’t interested in plural she was interested in Kody and the money.
All of the above was enough for me to not trust Robyn had good intentions right from the start, when she was planning to join this family, & as time went on things only got worse. When Covid hit, I think that’s when I went right off Robyn for good, there was nothing that she could say or do that would make me think or feel that she was a good sister wife or even a good human being!! As I think & feel these things as a viewer, goodness knows how the 3 OG’s felt as Kody’s wives/concubines!! Also, how all those innocent children, (regardless of age), must have felt!! Entertaining as sister wives was for me as a viewer, I feel so bad for the kids in all the mess that was created by these sham marriages!!! I hope Meri, Janelle & Christine all find true love & happiness in their lives after sister wives & most of all, I pray all the kids (including Robyn’s) get any help they may need to go on & live healthy fulfilling lives…
Just as a side note, I started watching sister wives because I was curious (not knowing much about polygamy, only the keep sweet bad side of it). In season 1 I gave this family the benefit of the doubt & thought, maybe this family’s setup was different, in a good way, but that soon changed when I realised Kody was breaking rules with Robyn & that kiss when Christine was in labour, really disgusted me to the core!!! The show then became just entertainment after that, getting to know the kids was the purest part of the show! In summation…. I hope those kids are all happy.

I appreciate this explanation of what constitutes cheating in plural marriage. I would define cheating as violating the agreed upon boundaries of a romantic/intimate relationship, (which is why it can sometimes mean different things to different people). So it makes sense that in this lifestyle, if there are certain days where the husband has agreed to only be with one wife, it's infidelity to be with another.
That's was my rhought also. Just like in an "open" relationship or etc, there are agreed upon boundaries. I originally was fascinated by this family structure and how it could be beneficial but this show has shown how it eventually devolves into jealousy

As a person whose ex had children with another woman during our relationship I always said that my children had to know their siblings because as much as I despise their parents these children never asked to be born into this mess same as my children didn't. So these children now adults and I have a good relationship with them.

But I meant that Robyn's lifestyle is so out of bounds that the only reason she cries "polygamy" is because she had the income of all the other women worker bees. Kody doesn't seem to keep steady work according to what you've researched either, and they have not lived as polygamists for years, so it just appears to most people that this "religious faith" of theirs is selective and convenient to serve whatever narrative they have in the moment.
She appears to be angry at the option of divorcing him because half wouldn't be enough for her now because that "half" used to be a much larger amount with all the other women contributing to the pot. But in any case, the other women appear to really work much harder, you are in social media Katie and you work pretty hard every day from what I see, they never film inside their house, they don't seem to give much, they've shown the audience they expect the women to work and Kody and Robyn sit on their thrown and control the empire, not make the same efforts, so that's why I say they don't want to work.

Agree 100% and to add on to point 4 yes he didn't NEED to adopt the kids there are other ways to have them included in the family. Having Preston simply agree to the kids changing their last name to Brown would still have given them status as "Brown" children, he could've kept his parental responsibility and his visitation rights etc and just given permission for the legal name change. My eldest son was born with a different surname to the one he has now simply because his Dad changed his name so for example if my son was named "john smith" at birth and his father then changed his legal name to "david jones" all i would've needed to do is give consent for my son to be known as "john jones" and get that changed legally at a solicitors office by deed poll to "John Jones"

Even if Robyn had died (which was unlikely!) Kody would have no trouble keeping the kids as he could act 'In Loco Parentis' (if the kids agreed, as 2 were of legal age to choose who to live with anyway!) As they were living with him permanently, it was a given they would stay with him so it was all so unnecessary. I hope Meri sees this for herself one day. She gave up her legal wife rights for nothing.

Katie, i remember an early episode that showed Kutie on a "date" with one of the OG and he got a call (or 2) from Sobin. She needed "help" with something but IMO she wanted to insert herself in their time and pull Kutie in like a trout on the line. The real victims of this ridiculous drama are all the kids; adult, littles, adopted..
