Thanks! I am just a 2 stroke enthusiast, bought a clone saw to modify for the experience. Just got the saw last week. I have a big bore kit sitting here wating for me. I am keeping the stock kit to throw back on in case I mess up. These Chinese saws and parts give me the opportunity to try something that would otherwise be out of my reach. No way I would get anywhere near a oem cylinder with a porting tool. Thanks again for the numbers and knowledge, I'll let you know how it turns out.
I had not seen this till now. The 372 is my favorite saw. We can't get the 75cc top end here so that's why I use the AM kit. The kit I get is very good. In a plain unmarked cardboard box and they claim it Hyway but it is not. I've ported several Hyway and these are far better than them. Hyway cylinder coating seems more like chrome to me. These cylinders are very similar to the stock coating but nothing seems as tough as the Meteor coating. I could tell from the video I watched of yours the other day you weren't porting as high as me. I tend to run Ex 170 Intake 170. Hence the lack of bottom end. But I also do that thing you talked about in the transfer and it seems to give the saw more torque. My transfer tunnels look similar to yours but I have on a few cut them down quite a bit further. My testing is inconclusive as to weather it helps or not. I still have not settled on transfer timing. Hopefully the saw I'm doing now will shed some light on that. Great Videos Don, I like your style and delivery. I've watched pretty much every ported 372 on the net and your "375" would be about the best work saw I've seen. Excellent throttle response and a board powerband. In our pine here in NZ that would make an excellent falling saw. Not too heavy and plenty of power. How would it stack up with a stock 500i in your opinion?
Really...really...really appreciate your sharing of the numbers for the guys getting into the hobby. You are an absolute awesome wealth of knowledge and you can really help a lot of guys get the good information. And you’re a good teacher too! Keep up the great work bud!!! 👍😁. “Keep a good sharp chain!!!” Huge!!! Maybe make a video just about what a really good sharp chain does for an engine??? I’ve always been a fuel up... smoke and stroke those cutters kid... the old guys who were good kinda imparted that process into me... 👍😁❤️. Tell you pop’s hello from a distant fan!!!
Evening Donny, Great video. I hope to do a fresh top end on my Jonsered 2071. The cylinder is n name AM so I sourced a used but good OEM cylinder and have a OEM piston heading my way. I'm wanting to make a good work horse and trust your recommendation. I will shoot for your numbers. Thanks for your expertise. Dennis
What do you think of a good old sea foaming to clean carbon? Once a month or so put piston to TDC and pour some of it down the plug hole? Let sit..drain...run? Iv always been against snake oil. However, sea foam has proven its self to do what it says.
Nothing like a good days work . Makes me feel useful and appreciated w quality craftsmanship main concern * but aging and declining health makes me feel like im cutting my teeth again
Cool, 165 degrees intake duration. Guys are saying 155 is what to aim for on saws so you don't get hard starts, I'm sure all saws are different. Thanks for the info.
Just going through you vids. Been to your shop a lot back when I was falling down there. Been running 372 for many years. Question is will that head seal just metal to metal without head gasket?
Thank you Donny for educating us.
Bless you Sharing your wisdom with us.
God Bless and Protect your Family.

Those number are good runnners! I like 102/120/80 with 0.025 squish myself for hardwood cutting
Love ya man!!! Absolutely awesome video!!! Wicked good insight into everything that you are teaching here!!!

WI is getting very cool weather the next few days.
Great video wished you were closer would pay yeah to do my 372
This is probably a stupid question but I got to ask. 165/165 after the base gasket is removed?
Yes that’s correct
There is no substitute for a lifetime of experience
Just a question, but what can you do with my 455, and 460 Rancher Husqavarna ?
If changing a 365 48mm piston to a 50mm piston, adding the larger, heavier piston, why does that not effect rotational balance?

I use it on 4 strokes maybe I will do an experiment on a carbon up saw and see
98 Degrees Fahrenheit in NH today. Had to till the garden till it was done.
