Hey best OIL ?
592xp would u remove it? I wont crank my 372 385 with using comp release. But will it bother a new saw???
Thanks for ur info good vids
Hey whats uR go to OIL mix oil. ?? So far ive settled on! amsoil saber !!!
NAPA offered EZ Coil rewind tool years ago. I bought one and it makes rewinding small starter coils easy. I just now saw that Proline now offers it. If you Google “EZ coil rewind tool”, there is a video so you can watch it in action. eBay member Sawzilla offers it for like around $50. Lot cheaper than what I paid for it 15 years ago.
Love my 385xp!!!!! Now my 592xp is been even better. Love both
Donnie, why do you hold in the throttle? Not being a smart alek. Is there someyhing to that or have you just always done that?
I’ve been around these engines since the early 80’s. I’ve rebuilt a pile of them and currently use them for a unique non-fire pump application. If you have one of the old pumps and it’s not firing leave it to someone experienced with the motors to change out the points, condenser, ect and time the ignition correctly. It can be a real bugger to get things right if you don’t know exactly what you are doing. The new models manufactured now have electronic ignition which was a badly needed upgrade. The old point ignition engines will often stop firing if they sit up too long.
Why not just drill the holes and not braze the tubes?

How do you replace the older style duckbill oil tank vents? Do you just pry the little brass filter and duckbill vent out?
How do you replace the old style duckbill oil tank vents Donny? Do you just pry the little round brass filters out along with the duckbill vent?
Excited to see what you do with it! My MS260 that I bought brand new is my favourite saw. I just picked up a decent shape 026 intending to install a new piston and maybe clean up the ports a bit etc.

Rebuilding a Mac 35 right now but don't seem to remember where the long black coil wire goes and the little short green one from the condenser goes. Do both of them mount to that top bolt going into the points? The shapes in the wire lead me to believe that's where they go.
Any idea why husky will not run on the clutch side, just dies off, crankcase test was no air leak holding pressure, all new O rings, and crank seals installed already... Thanks
Hello, "Donny Walker" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or ig or where?

Hey Donny glad ya made it to my home state Happy New Year from one of your fans in Roseburg Oregon!!
Enjoy Donny and Shelly and of course Foz!
it's Crescent City, south of the dunes , we've done 101 a few times, it's absolutely beautiful ! If you get the chance,, go ! The Oregon section is world class. Vancouver Island to Port Angeles, then west and south down 101, The Olympic peninsula is staggeringly beautiful. 101 is also a great area north of San Diego.

Perhaps Stihl used to incorporate production dates into their serial numbers. I have no idea.
The stihlusa website FAQ sectiin says this (cut and pasted): HOW cAN I TELL WHEN MY STIHL CHAINSAW WAS MADE? STIHL does not incorporate production dates into our serial numbers.
thanks Donny for your videos. They are great. A question that maybe you answered in the past; what are you using for gasket? i got that you are using thinner one to adjust the squish. I'm looking at different option and since you're building awesome saws your input would be more than welcome.
Donny do you have an email to get in contact with you to have my saw ported?
