This yin yoga class is perfect for beginner yogis who want a slower practice and upper body stretch, to advanced yogis who want to go inward.
This relaxing class is designed to both calm your mood and release tension from the body. Yin yoga is a very meditative practice where we hold postures for 2-7 minutes traditionally. In this class, we'll be holding these yin yoga poses for 2 minutes each. The key to this is to find a yin posture that is a sensation or stretch but isn't your max. There should be no clenching in the body - if there is, back off a little and breathe smoothly throughout the hold.
These extended yin yoga holds allow your muscles to relax into these upper body stretches. Anatomically, these longer yin holds allow our fascia - the connective tissue that envelops every muscle, tendon, and organ - to reorganize into ways that allow for greater flexibility and range of motion.
Fun fact: Tightness in the body more often comes from fascia that is not worked and moved consistently and makes us feel tight - not the muscle itself.

Hello Kate! I find holding these poses for an extended period a bit challenging. I think I might struggle because I haven't fully grasped their benefits yet, and my mind tends to remain active without much time to relax. I often find myself focus in various thoughts due to my naturally intricate and highly analytical cosmic mind... my revolutionary thoughts are always going across multiple galaxies that's why is a bit challenging for me. I apologize for being modest, as I tend to be modest. I need to work on embracing stillness and perhaps this yoga class can help. Thank you Kate!😉😄☺🌺✨🌟⭐🌍🌎
You're a mover and groover! I'm not surprised your mind is a little busy in Yin - I think lots of people experience that. Personally I love that it's a set amount of time where I'm allowed to stop "doing". There's only 1 thing to do in the pose: relax into in.
But yin may just not be your thing. :) And that's okay too because there's another animal flow coming next week!

Its been a month since i practiced yoga or workout, is it bad😬😴😪
It's not bad! You are not bad :)
You may just feel a little less mobile, which this class is perfect for. Maybe a 5 min daily stretch would be good, something easy on the body and mind.
