    this came in very handy to use as a reference tool. had to replace my transmission on my 2010 ve lpg model recently. only difference was my catalytic converters are actually part of my headers and couldn't unbolt them the way you did. cheers for making the video

    I recently completed the Toyota Celica engine tear down and assembly. Compare the working area in a Celica and VE, i hope i never have to do the transmission work on my Pontiac G8.

    Lost 5 & 6 gear in my VE SS 2006 while driving. All thanks to this tutorial I have a fair idea now on how its Done. I will try changing my Gearbox with another Manual one. Thank you so much for making this video.

    Would this still be the same steps for a ve ssv? My 6 speed auto trans is gone and replacing it on friday.

    I've replaced the motor on my calais ve v6 sportswagon that has a 6 speed Trans .motor came out of a 5 speed Trans set up. When I bolted it all up to the old Trans, torque and fly wheel , the pulley becomes tight and won't spin . In turn car won't turn over . Any help be much appreciated

    If the bellhousing bolts are tight (as they generally are from the factory) and you use an 11mm socket and round the bolt off, you are in deep shit! Use the correct E torqx socket, they are not expensive at any tool shop. Do not round those bolts!! If the e torqx socket is not on properly you can still round the bolt head.

    How do you get the rear bolt on the passenger side CAT out , or is it easier to drop the whole manifold on that side. I can’t get a spanner or socket onto it

      @@downtheshedwithbyron I actually used a 5/8” hex head and low and behold it actually undid. Either that or the 3 days of squirting it with crc . Such a poor design anyway. As are the locations of the 02 sensor plugs, just poor design imho.

      I found it, it’s was so obvious and I feel a little silly now.

    cannot get the cat manifold bolts off for the life of me, i’ve tried wd, crc, ratchet with extensions, rattle gun, can’t even get in there to cut em, what’s my other options

      @@downtheshedwithbyron I’ve tried with a propane torch today, I had a lightbulb moment n thought maybe a trip to bunnings to get a steel bit for the drill n just drill them out, there’s no nuts underneath would just require me to buy new cat manifold bolts but may be my only option at this point

    Nothing worse working on the garage floor. Difficult. Uncomfortable and hard going if your over weight. However good work as I'm the same...do all my own work...or as much as possible
