I have IBS-D and also lactose intolerant Which I take medication and lactose pills for, I also have a severe allergy to coconut as my husband has some stomach sensitivity to foods as well. I wanted to say Thank you for this video I got some ideas from tonight and do plan to order your dairy free book and giving some of this a try. Oh just for anyone whose in need for a tip about Lactose pills Walmart sells theirs anywhere from 5.98 for 12 and over 10.00 for I think 120 well I found at Dollar Tree they have some there 15 in a bottle for 1.25 a bottle so far that is the cheapest I have found so far I would love to find them cheaper so far I haven't but for those who have the problem and have a Dollar Tree near by I would suggest the Dollar Tree. Again Thanks so much for this video ..

I’d got the free down load of your first book. Then I ordered the second book. I’m 55 and I’ve always cooked, and tried to be somewhat frugal, but I’ve learned new tricks from these books. I think everyone who cooks could get some good use out of them.
These are way better than one of the best selling food network star’s cookbooks I have.

Not sticking to the list (in favor of clearance/sales) is really interesting! I do grocery pickup at walmart and here I am thinking I’m staying in budget and yet missing out on so many potential extra deals!

It is hit or miss at Walmart but always keeping my eye out for markdown. Recently I saw The Pioneer Woman hair brushes marked down to a buck. I think I bought 6.

The only time we did grocery pickup was during Covid just because I didn't want to argue with anyone about a mask. I have found 'extras' on their rolling racks they put clearance items on at certain locations. Don't just limit yourself to Walmart for groceries. Check to see if there are any food discount or salvage stores in your area. Ollie's for instance. I bought a bunch of food items at Ollies last week. They always have jellies, nuts, spices and lots of candy if that's on your list.

As far as the metal container messing up your cabinet you can also put a lid from an older container on the bottom. Mom used to do it all the time.

I write on my glass containers with a sharpee (sp?) Pen before putting in freezer or fridge. I then scrub it off when I reuse the container. For plastic- I write on paper and put it inside where I can see it through the side or lid. No more freezer mysteries :)

To use an extra can of the pumpkin puree, make vegan mac-n-cheese. I use a pound of elbow macaroni, a can of full-fat coconut milk, a can of pumpkin puree, and some nutritional yeast. Spices to add: salt, pepper, garlic, sumac spice (if you have it), and a pinch of cardamom. It's my teenager's favorite over the "really cheesy" boxed varieties that come with the "cheese pouch". I didn't see coconut milk in your pantry, but you can occasionally find a good sale at Aldi's on that.
For extra bananas, you can make variations of the regular banana bread - make a batch with that leftover cranberry sauce in the freezer and offset it with some of that almond flour. If you toast the almond flour first, you may be able to get a bit more of that flavor (which goes well with cranberries). I actually did this with canned mandarins (chopped), cranberry sauce, and (thawed) frozen bananas. I'm allergic to almonds, so I used lightly toasted coconut flakes and macadamia nuts (on sale). Mixed the recipe's dry ingredients in one bowl, mixed all the fruit in another bowl. Looking at the recipe's total wet ingredients, I estimated how much more wet ingredients I had and balanced the batter with some oatmeal or homemade oat flour. Cooked the batter in mini-muffin tins, cooled on wire rack, and froze whatever didn't disappear by the next day.

We have a upright freezer, purchased 6 basket sized to fit 2 on two shelves, third and fourth shelf put them horizontally because of bump in back of those two shelves. Label baskets beef, chicken, pork, fish. The last two shelves for miscellaneous frozen foods. The door has six shelves, store butter, veggies, frozen juices. So easy to find anything I need to make meals.

She’s doing a wonderful job but I think she needs to stock up more. Maybe she has a stock she didn’t show us but if not I would certainly work on getting 3-6 months worth of food storage just to start. With 4 boys and living so far from a grocery store it would be a good idea. We lived 25 minutes from the nearest grocery store when I was raising my 4 children. I had a literal grocery store in my garage. I never wanted to start a recipe and be missing one ingredient! A few years ago they built a Dollar General just 10 minutes away from us so that has helped tremendously but I have to be careful because the prices aren’t the best.

For the greens powder, maybe sprinkle it on a casserole or in a soup etc for extra greens!! But bakery and meat department and deli mark down the items daily in the mornings it depends on the dates on the products. And the more team doesn't do modes during Thanksgiving and thur Christmas ,till the first of the year.

Molasses is great for homemade baked beans. Also dry peanut butter works well for making your own reses peanut butter cups. You could have fun with the younger boys making holiday candy!

Yes! There used to be a special gadget to make it. It was called Yobana, or something like that. I just use my food processor. It makes like a soft serve ice cream. 100% bananas.

I hope Gina doesn't give away her cans of pumpkin. That has gone up so much, well over $2.00/can. I don't bake as much anymore, but I love to have a few cans of pumpkin on hand. I am impressed at how tidy and organized her refrigerators and freezers are. Way to go Gina. You know how to shop wisely, for sure. Have a Blessed day.

I agree and I love pumpkin pie.
I add 1 can sweetened condensed milk 2 or 3 eggs, and spices. Pour in your favorite pie shell and bake.
