Vitamin D and Magnesium. I suffered from chronic back pain especially lower back for decades. My lower back pain was prominent in the morning after I sat up in bed and then first stood up. I used to go to Dr after Dr for lots of health problems. Don't none of them explain like Dr Berg and I hate to say this but most doctors really don't care about us. Over the years I get more love from nurses and PA.❤
Anymore it’s so hard to get a doctor’s appt in a timely fashion, so I have been navigating towards nurse practitioners and have found them far superior in their care. Plus they are so much more receptive to information that I learn here
Part of the reason has to do with insurance. Doctor has a time limit I believe of 15 minutes to spend with a patient. I believe certain protocols have to be observed by the medical industry. 😢
@@di4085 I agree insurance and Medicare has changed the landscape of medicine as well as the overall health of America. I worked at a hospital for nearly 43 years. Each year Congress would determine some kind of reimbursement rate and we would be notified by Medicare. Last couple of years, we were notified of 10% decrease in reimbursement. Then administration would ask each department to cut 10% across the board in employee hours, supplies, etc but increase patient census by 10%. So we frantically learned to adapt to do more with less. So you are right, doctors shouldn’t shoulder all the blame. Administration looks at inputs/outputs and determine “X”amount of patients scheduled each hour (in their eyes hopefully a well rounded mix of commercially insured patients, Medicare, self-insured, and non insured patients). This schedule hopefully pays all the bills including everyone’s salary from door greeters to 6 figure administrators. Then to add to the stress factor if a doctor decides he needs to spend more time with a particular patient and makes others wait, and oh no😱 someone writes a negative review, doctor receives an inquiring email from administration. Some doctors do choose to have more control of this knee-jerk-chain…and try to maintain their income status by forgoing the hierarchy and do a “concierge” service. I’ve seen some opt of Medicare, and actually seen some go back to house calls(even go to work place. But these individuals are far and few between. And the rat race continues…. Sorry for the novel.
My leg cramps from doing severe labor construction for decades are extremely painful in the mornings & since finding your info I have been able to eliminate them so I really am so Thankful to you. ❤

How much of each form of magnesium is in each tablet? When the label lumps two or more ingredients together and neglects to itemize the amount of each one, I assume it's mostly the cheapest ingredient, and only small amounts of the others as a marketing ploy.
nowhere else have I experienced a source of nutritional education that is as pragmatic, consistent, unbiased, well researched, and as clearly communicated as here on Dr. Berg's channel. I make magnesium bicarbonate by adding 1 tsp of magnesium hydroxide to 800 ml of carbonated water. I add that to the water I drink throughout the day. I recently also Learned that by mixing Apple cider vinegar with magnesium hydroxide that magnesium acetate is formed. You can also mix magnesium hydroxide with lemon juice to make magnesium citrate.
I'm trying to understand the dosing of the magnesium bicarbonate you make with a soda stream. I've seen you could take two 8 ounce glasses, take two swigs a day and I've seen 1 ounce. I don't want to over do but I think it's the best form.
It does seem sensible to have the reaction forming magnesium compounds externally, otherwise the reaction with your stomach acid is partly neutralizing the digestive juices, and the gas from that reaction will bloat you. I guess you could just dissolve a magnesium oxide tablet in a mixture of carbonated water with a dash of lemon juice and ACV to provide a mixture of compounds more easily absorbed and tolerated.

Sounds good. It seems that after magnesium oxide has reacted with stomach acid, it can be absorbed, but too much acts as an antacid, adversely affecting digestion.

I guess that is what you will get once the (cheap) magnesium oxide has had the antacid effect on stomach acid and reacted to become the chloride salt, so it may be the antacid effect that can cause digestive problems. Bioavailability appears to be the immediate absorption rather than how much total absorbed throughout the digestive tract - which seems to be adequate even for oxide.

I didn't realise there was different kind. I have a very sensitive stomach so that one is probably not the best. Gonna stop it and see if my symptoms go away .
I'm not medical, but since you have a sensitive digestion - some antacids do contain magnesium oxide. Reducing stomach acid from the level it should be makes some food harder to digest, and reduces the sterilizing effect of the stomach acid.

I used to go to Dr after Dr for lots of health problems.
Don't none of them explain like Dr Berg and I hate to say this but most doctors really don't care about us.
Over the years I get more love from nurses and PA.❤
Becareful of chelate. I had a bad reaction with it.

Thank you for your suggestion, we will look into this for future videos.
What about Magnesium Chloride , like ReMag for example ? I never see anyone talk about this version
The azian guy who claps in the beginning of his videos has some info about forms of magnesium and he talks about the chloride version

@@Drberg thanks, but the article is about transdermal use of magnesium chloride, what about taking it orally? Here in Uruguay it's the most commonly used.
@@Drberg Same question. You keep referring to transdermal use of magnesium Chloride. What about oral supplements?

My bottle says magnesium. The first ingredient on the bottle reads M Oxide. I took three of these for about a week. I ended up having diarrhea for a whole week. It stopped when I stopped taking the M.
