    Likes:
Feeling of a premium sedan - comfort, looks, luxury - the rear bench is heavenly
Appreciable ride quality - smooths out the pothole riddled roads
Truly key-less entry and exit - configurable via the settings
Sporty engine note and exhilaration on revving beyond 5K RPM - rev happy engine
Paddle shifters - for that quick downshift while going over a ghat or attempting an overtake - in both the "S" mode as well as the "D" mode
The "S" mode unleashes the beast to deliver the sportiness expected from this gem of a 1.5L Naturally Aspirated i-VTEC engine
ORVM allows a peek of the road from between the A-pillar and the mirror mounting point - reduces the blind-spot created by A-pillar
3 point seat belt for all occupants - even for rear center passenger
    6 Airbags
Physical climate control knobs with a click on each turn - no need to fumble while driving
Hit the power button on infotainment system and it will be muted - handy to quickly silence the cabin while reversing or attending an incoming call
8 speaker setup (on ZX) is fulfilling - needs to be tuned to your liking from the settings - works best with connected phone not so much with radio
All four windows as well as the sun-roof have pinch-guard
All four windows as well as the sun-roof have one-touch operation (on ZX)
All four windows as well as the sun-roof can be opened using the key remotely
No under-body scraping yet (in ~4 weeks of ownership)
Approx. 5L of reserve even when fuel tank level shows 0
Honda Connect App works as advertised, also maintains an automatic log of each trip with Distance, Avg. Speed and Trip Duration
    Dis-Likes:
Presence of hard plastics on the interiors
Stock tyres are under-sized - had to upgrade it as soon as the car moved out of showroom
IRVM is a size smaller for my liking
    Boring mid-range rev
    No electric/assisted seat adjustments
    No memory for seat adjustments
    No passenger side seat adjustments
    No cooled/ventilated seats
If the car is parked outside on a sunny afternoon the air conditioning can feel inadequate to the rear passengers
The sound insulation can be better - road noises do seep in, better than hatchbacks not so much when compared to premium sedans
    No 360 degree camera feed!
The camera feeds (both lane change camera as well as reverse camera) is quite dated (feels like last decade) - Honda seriously needs to consider higher-resolution cameras with better low light performance
The infotainment system looks dated - competition provides larger, more vibrant, higher-resolution displays for their infotainment system
With the sun-roof open on a sunny afternoon, the visibility of infotainment screen seems poor
Slotting the transmission to "R" does not automatically mute/reduce volume of infotainment system - our Polo had this nifty feature
TPMS is more of a mathematical formula to determine deflation of a tyre and not really a pressure monitoring system
The front over-hang scraped twice in a period of ~4 weeks
The front center arm rest doesn't slide - can be an inconvenience
The Trip 1 doesn't reset to 0 automatically after a certain period of no use i.e. I need to remember to reset the Trip 1 before every journey - our Polo used to reset Trip A after two hours of being parked and it helped to check the trip stats. Honda Connect App maintains a trip log automatically for each journey and I now rely on the app more than the MID.
SKODA SLAVIA Pros and Cons (Team-BHPian)
    Positives:
    Ride and handling balance
    Looks, it will age well
Tyre size of 205/55 offers good sidewall
Engine & gearbox combination- there's something for everyone
    Comfortable-airy cabin & great ergonomics
Throw from headlights is strong (Achilles heel of Rapid)
    Brakes are surefooted
1.0 is an all rounder and there's nothing like 1.5TSi
Features like seat ventilation, Rake-reach steering, XDS, MCB, TC, ESP, E brake boost etc.
    Negatives:
    I need full underbody cover
Lights in the glove box is missing
No auto up-down on all 4 windows like Rapid.
Ambition variant vis a vis Kushaq lacks features
Temperature & blower controls are fine but rest needed me to take my eyes off the road to fiddle with climatronic control
Not offering monte Carlo edition is a crime
Steering is precise but lacks feedback, would have liked more feedback atleast in the 1.5 TSi variant. I guess light EPS is the norm these days (I miss you fiesta)

Basically I would say if you can afford top Variant then slavia makes more sense.
However if you're budget is not that high the city V destroys the slavia active in terms of sheer VFM. That slavia active is just a pathetic joke compared to city V. Ambition misses out on some features but overall it's decent compared to city unlike the active. Wish it had 6 airbags like city VX.
Let's see if virtus highline with its LED lights and same alloys as topline can compete with city VX. But not having automatic AC at this price again is just illogical, but I guess that's how VW does things.

Also would like to add the subwoofer on slavia top variant and that 380w sound system really slaps above the price. Also ventilated seats are a cool bonus(no pun intended)
In typical VW fashion virtus has ommited the subwoofer. Kudos to them.

@@balram7428 I agree that Slavia Style with 6 airbags and other features is extremely VFM and better than City. Not to forget that 10 inch screen is sharper in the day light, wireless charging and connectivity is a boon too.

@@SunderdeepSingh Also I would like to add that it's been a couple of months after deliveries began and so far not many complaints of rattling or any new issues. So I feel unlike the SUV brothers these 2 sedans are more polished products (india 2.1 I guess) and so I have very little hesitation recommending these two.
In fact a relation of mine who has been waiting from last year since taigun and kushaq issues, for these 2 cars and will be buying the top variant in MT of either of these cars in the next 2 months. The real question is crystal blue or rising blue metallic at the moment lol.
Of course you're positive initial ownership experience of slavia also strengthened my conviction.

I would say City is the most balanced product in the segment - Jack of all trades type
If you are an enthusiastic driver with major running on highways and don't worry too much about FE, I would recommend extending your budget and going for the 1.5 TSI (Slavia or Virtus)
If you have high monthly running and travel with 2/3 occupants for majority of your time then the Verna Diesel makes most sense.

The City ivtec petrol will run for years without any problem, reliable and that petrol engine is the industry best in NA engines. Extremely spacious and very luxurious. Cult following and the name City itself is a brand.
Slavia looks like a mini Audi, absolutely best looking sedan, the tsi beats the City in mid range. Remember you are not going to rev the engine every time. And Slavia sheet metal is far far thicker than City.

Did you get a chance to check Virtus GT?
I happened to see one at the VW Service station yesterday and wasn’t able to understand why most people found it a modern and fresh design. On the inside, The red inlays and the black alloys made them look a little after-market.
But I believe the Virtus would be a good competition as well to the city and slavia.

I never said the City performs better than Slavia. I said that CVT is much more reliable for Indian road conditions than DSG, especially the DQ 200 one. It was so problematic that Skoda was forced to replace DQ 200 with DQ 381 in Octavia 2021 onwards.

No one can match honda in terms of engine reliability and performance as honda being the largest engine producer in the world.
And iVtec is really something, on the other hand Volkswagen and Skoda are proven german automakers for their performance oriented vehicles, now coming to performance honda city doesn't get a turbo petrol engine so it'd be wrong to compare NA engine to a turbe petrol engine.
In the real world we won't even bother about turbo vs NA so it doesn't matter, what matters is comfort or handling and you can't get both together, you'll get a better handling at the same time you are compromising on comfort and vice-versa.
If you want power then check 0-100 acceleration and bhp/torque, these stats will give an idea about the power of the vehicle.
But for comfort and handling you'll have to experience it. And as per my experience honda city is more on the comfort side and virtus is more on the handling side. And looks are subjective. Mileage we all know what to expect from these cars. at last I'd say you need to experience both cars first hand and your experience may vary from elses. It's your money be wise.

I own the City from 2 years now and drive in City with very light foot and barely using 1,2nd gears, City mileage will not go beyond 12.3 Kmpl, Highway Mileage 100-130Km/hr = 14-15Kmpl, average Highway = 15-16Kmpl, engine of City is also very noisy and not refined, far from Hyundai refined engines, now buying the Slavia, the 3 cylinder is also not refined.
I had Verna before City, Verna Petrol gave 11.5Kmpl in City, highway mostly averaged around 14.5-15.5 Kmpl
I would not recommend the Honda City latest generation, it has issues - Rattles, Steering replaced, Dampers replaced in 1.5 years and I maintain my car very well, still!!

Paaji why skoda and vw sell limited units of their premium models in india
Like kodiaq is sold out for whole 2022
Why they are not selling more units?

No one wants Slavia 1.5TSI everyone wants Octavia 1.5TSI, why skoda isnt offering it to Indian buyers when the damn car is being offered all over the world? Skoda Slavia is like an unwanted child I hate it. They could have put 1.0TSI in octavia (which they do already abroad) and saved millions spend in developing slavia. I would have been totally fine with it. Now Octavia is also over priced they are trying to push it as VFM alternative to top 3 german brands 🤣🤣🤣.
This brand is making disasters and I fear for its future there are things beyond performance & plastic quality. Kushaq or slavia isnt selling 3000 unit nor Octavia is selling 200 units as expected by skoda moreover they are being out sold by VW cousin despite arriving in India 10 years earlier. Then there is also reliability issue and high maintenance cost. After all these things why would any sane person leave the lovely & the truely VFM Honda city, yes it maybe marginally slower than 1.5TSI but so what its still fun plus its faster than 1.0 tsi its real competitor in 0-100 times and also more responsive on busy roads where 1.0TSI is laggy as fuck.
