    If City scores 5 star rating with Stable body shell integrity then 14 pts will be added..so total 94/113 means 83% and Virtus 89%

      City will easily score 5 stars in Global NCAP. The only downside from 4th gen is cabin insulation/NVH which was better in 4th gen...
      I don't have a problem with engine noise coming in as I like it but most ppl won't

      @@vijuvlogs It will score 5 star rating but for that Honda should be willing to send it or let GNCAP buy it and test it..5th gen would have tested by them last year..if 4th gen was discontinued in 2020..but GNCAP considered 4th gen as base variant of City lineup
      Btw Have you experienced both cars insulation? Engine sound is very good in 5th gen..sounds very sporty.. I would say Best engine sound under 25 lacs currently..

    Excellent review, as always, Sunderdeep!
    One minor error - You said you will cut marks for spare wheel size and alloy for Virtus, but gave it 2/2. The score for Virtus is 99/113, and not 101/113.
    At the same time, I also did the same analysis for my 2022 Polo GT Legend Edition (I know you have done it for Polo Trendline already, but I did it to compare it with Virtus / City). Polo has scored 94/112. The 18 marks lost are as follows -
    GNCAP - 4 stars for Polo (4 marks lost)
    Airbags - 2 Airbags in Polo (5 marks lost)
    Bonnet Insulation, Underbody Cover - Insulation is present, underbody cover absent in Polo (2 marks lost)
    Safety Features - 6 Airbags missing, 360° camera missing in Polo (2 marks lost)
    Disc Brakes - 2 discs in Polo (2 marks lost)
    Spare Wheel and Alloy - Smaller profile steel wheel in Polo (2 marks lost)
    Adjustable headrests - 4 in Polo (1 mark lost)
    Boot roof cover is not applicable for Polo, as it is a hatchback, so removing it from numerator and denominator. Thus, Polo scores 94/112 (not 113).

    Honda City is test is ASEAN NCAP with Kindly refer to it
    if you are considering Safety rating then VW vritus is also not test in GNACP it should not be considered here as body style of the vehicle also make i impact on safety. even though the platform is same.
    Rest of the comparison is good

    • @SunderdeepSingh
      @SunderdeepSingh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback Verma Ji. I have taken it positively. However my counter is
      - ASEAN NCAP is not valid for India because we have seen Creta scoring better there but not in India. Here Gen 4 City made sense because it is tested in GNCAP and it was not a cheap car, same segment.
      - Virtus is based on MQB A0 IN and have identical safety features like Taigun. It is not an assumption but I am sure of the 5 stars ratings and any car expert can confirm the same.

  • @rishabghosh9038
    @rishabghosh9038 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    My current choice in this segment is Skoda Slavia 1.5TSI MT.
    However, the lack of hood insulation in the Virtus feels very cheap and is not expected from a Vw.
    I assume the City will also score a perfect five star in gncap its just my hunch.
    If we also bring in reliability and service into the equation the 1.5 ivtec is ahead by leagues and miles. Effortless performance and its bombproof reliable and if marks are added for that the City will well nudge ahead of the Virtus in totality. The 1.0tsi has a certain clarter which somehow is very bad sounding when compared to the beautiful creamy note of the 4 cylinder vtec.
    Where theres no beating the Vw is taut suspension which allows tou to carry high speed, excellent low end grunt over ivtec and the feel of doors is something which has to be felt to appreciate.
    And i will still stand by my pick in the segment the Slavia 1.5tsi manual, the beat car under 20 lakhs and even above.

    Its goes without saying Sedan means Honda City for most Indians. Especially in the Corporate or Executive world, as its the 1st choice for many as the best chauffeur driven Car.
    Virtus & Slavia are definitely better Cars but might not overthrow Honda City.
    Many in India & globally as well Vows for Honda & Toyota Engine life & Reliability.

      Hopefully turbo variants sold in South East Asian countries be brought here with proper variants to make it more affordable..
      With e: Hev they should have given lower variants and one definitely without ADAS and that would have gotten more sales and of course a sub 4 m and 4.3 m crossovers with Hybrid without ADAS would be the best to capture the market

      I have it and even all reviewers have mentioned that.

      Any car person would agree to this:
      MQB A0 IN platform will ensure 5 stars, there is no doubt about it.
      Second, City Gen 4 was super expensive too but scored 4 with unstable bodyshell.

    Well this interior review was very in depth, although I like skoda slavia outside appearance more than virtues, but interiorwise virtues is better. But overall appearance from outside and inside City appearance is more attractive. City beats virtues and Slavia in terms of value for money in lower variants(v and vx) by margin by ticking all the checkboxes. Whereas Slavia and Virtues top models are better than city because of 1.5 ltr engine but again at a price, so top models of their can be compared with ehev only where city again leads because of new technologies.
    Rest about safety untill and unless both cars are tested by NCAP I would not agree on differences. Both cars not tested and if you say Taigun test and 4th gen test i disagree because city has a generation change and as a city owner i am supplied with information that same city has been tested in Asian 5star, so let's wait for test in GNCAP.
    I like both cars and companies, but like overall package of city more because of value for money, service, resale and trust of years.

    • @SunderdeepSingh
      @SunderdeepSingh  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      City 4th gen was an expensive car but ratings are quite average. I gave Taigun 4 top on the assumptions but they have come clean with 5. I cannot simply give 5 to City on assumptions.

    Is the build quality concept same as passenger safety? Are they correlated? Should we always purchase cars by keeping an eye on their GNCAP ratings?
    Some people talk about crumple zone and hence say that a suzuki car has best crumple zone but upto what extent a crumple zone should be present? Tata cars after colliding do get damage but dont crumple like suzuki ones. DOES IT MEAN SUZUKI IS SAFE THAN TATA? Also I think what matters is that after collision the pillars roof and cabin should be intact. ANYONE PLEASE CLEAR ALL MY DOUBTS.

    4th gen scored 4 star rating but 5th gen is 5 star rated by Asean NCAP which is equivalent to indian variant also..honda officially claimed by Honda india..
    As we know honda doesn't cut cost in safety platform and structural rigidity country to country
    Asean is more trustable and stricter than GNCAP
