I just recently found this series and I basically just play it on autoplay in the background and I occasionally say out loud "I remember that game!" I hope this series goes forever :)
Came for the Sega CD, learnt nothing new about that, just good memories... then discovered this weird Lynx game now I really want to try it. thats kinda the fun of this channel.
Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side was my favorite Sega CD game! My brother and I spent so many hours playing that one when we were kids. We loved showing our friends all the crazy finishing moves and stage fatalities!
Mario's first appearance was about 10 years before Panic Restaurant, and Waluigi's was about 8 years after, so if the characters in it are suspicious, it must be for different reasons.
The Sega CD had a lot of potential that Sega squandered in a lot of ways. CD's were very cheap to produce compared to cartridges. They could also home a good amount of data for the time. Sega had a good collection of games by this point that they could have put out as cheap collections. They also could have put out their newer games cheaper for the system to encourage people to buy one. The biggest thing they could have done was to do what Netflix did back in the day with mailing games. But instead they made those terrible games that used full motion videos with bad acting and worst video quality.
I had the Mouse Trap board game. It's not that we *didn't* play it, so much as we *couldn't*. At least with my copy, the contraptions never worked quite right and frequently just fell apart. I loved the game in theory, hated it in execution.
We got one for Christmas during the launch year!! Played the heck out of Cobra Command.. and the Sega Classics disc that came with it, of course... Later on, loved Jaguar XJ220 and Final Fight CD...the best version!
Tipping point for Sega? There was no tipping point...Sega was beating Nintendo quite soundly both long before the Sega CD (or Mega CD) released. They led the 4th generation from 1989- the middle of 1995. Bonus- During the creation of the Sega CD, Sega was partners with Sony. This would be the same company that was working on the Snes CD attachment. Meaning, they were worried someone might leak the specs or steal the hardware all while they were handing the keys to the castle without even knowing it. ;)
Sega CD... My favorite console! Great top shelf selections in Night Trap, Rise of the Dragon, and Popful...! Though I would recommend Double Switch as the best of the system...!
SegaCD was the one time I ran out to buy a new piece of tech and got totally burned. There was a few fun things here and there, but the whole time I owned it I just new it wasn't worth what I paid or how excited I was about it.
Next to violent and gory games like Mortal Kombat and Doom, how was a goofy game like Night Trap even a factor in the creation of the ESRB? The world makes no sense sometimes.
They probably thought that trying to save women from being killed glorifies assaulting women. Because congress makes as much sense as what I just said.
There was a moral crusade against explicit video games and music by certain members of Congress at the time. Just another excuse to create more burocracy and cushy jobs for friends.
Especially since those idiot Karens claim they wouldn't want their daughter dating a guy who just played Night Trap before going on a date with her when you were actually PROTECTING THOSE GIRLS in that game! Karens never are smart just angry and looking to get offended by something, only difference is which side is the one getting offended...only in America ha ha
i remember having the version that went on the side of the genisis instead of underneath and only game i remember really was the sewer shark and think sonic
Naww man, I wasn't singing along to Mouse Trap, but I do remember that shit. I was watching Nickelodeon well into my 20's and the commercials got excruciating. Luckily, I learned that remotes came with a MUTE button.
Eternal champions Sega cd should of been the blue print for all genesis games to Sega cd. Probably one of the most underrated Sega cd/fighting games. The fatalities/stage fatalities were and still are more brutal and gruesome than mk. I love it
I played Night Trap on the 3DO and had absolutely no clue about the controversy. I also have absolutely no clue what the outrage was with it. Seriously, it's 99% boring (it's like you're watching someone else's home movie) and 1% trying to figure out what the colors mean and how to use them. The video is FAR from anything sexual. Any insinuation is entirely the person's imagination who obviously never even bothered to play the game.
i know is very early in the new channel and it doesn't bother me, but a friend who is watching me doing this seems bothered by the videos being in date dissorder on another note let's go! October 21th! 1992
Dude, I remember all kind of wild rumors about the Sega CD back when I was a kid, including secret porn games on Digital Pictures’ games, like Ground Zero Texas, that you could unlock with pretty convoluted cheat codes.
I just recently found this series and I basically just play it on autoplay in the background and I occasionally say out loud "I remember that game!" I hope this series goes forever :)
Um, I'd give it about seven years at most. 🙄
As a kid I wanted a SegaCD SOOO badly. I wanted to play Sewer Shark the most and when I finally got to try it I was like "this game sucks."
3:47 - LOL @ I - N - X - S ----> It's "In Excess"
Yeah, that cracked me up, too.
Came here to say this!😂
Omg I noticed that too, lol... I guess Jared wasn't an INXS fan

Mouse Trap's legacy for me was my introduction (and subsequent love of) Rube Goldberg devices.
First SegaCD game I really saw in any detail was Lunar… I consider myself very fortunate.

Last few seconds: They made the best video of 1989 and the fifth-best video of 1998.
Feeling the need to check my local collector's shop for Panic Restaurant.
Those politicians must've been going by the cover of Night Trap alone since at most, it's cartoon violence and cheesy 80s acting.
5:58 "More importantly, unattached, beautiful females between the ages of 16-19 need you!"
Yikes. That didn't age well.

Love seeing your Subs going up and up! thats awesome! :)
I always preferred the early 90s Mouse Trap ad. The one with the cat.

That's a shame. The game was hilariously fun if all the pieces worked right.
Sounds like most copies of the game. Only the commercials and Xbox 360's Hasbro Game Night had the game work right consistently.
Mine worked fine, the problem was actually playing the game and not just repeatedly setting off the trap.
Awesome concept for a channel, great stuff
I played the Mouse Trap board game when I was a kid. It was okay.
My friend had a Sega CD. I don’t remember us ever playing it.

Dang, 17 games. That's a busy week. I have never tried a Sega CD, we only had the base Genesis.

I miss you guys on this Friday night, hope you're doing well!
It was because of this episode that I learned the AVGN Sega CD episode was referencing a commercial.
Still have mine. Watching this video going to play with it. His dog Rush is cool.
Fun fact: after this commercial it only took ten years (GameCube) for Nintendo to make a CD console.
SegaCD was the one time I ran out to buy a new piece of tech and got totally burned. There was a few fun things here and there, but the whole time I owned it I just new it wasn't worth what I paid or how excited I was about it.
Does anyone else think that Panic Restaurant game looks and sounds a LOT like Pizza Tower? Or rather the other way around.
Eye-en-excess? Jesus. 🤦♂️

People were trying to get elected to congress
It was the early 90s 🤷🏾♂️🤣
The ridiculous overreaction to Night Trap back in the 90s was one of the country's most Puritanical moments since the Salem witch trials.
Seriously. There was more violence in your average Looney Tunes cartoon. The Boomers' crusade against video games was absolutely absurd.

FMV games are awesome. Night Trap was going to be on the Nintendo PlayStation.

Sega CD was great at the time. Maybe all the games weren't great but I remember having so much fun
Love em all again!
Eternal champions Sega cd should of been the blue print for all genesis games to Sega cd. Probably one of the most underrated Sega cd/fighting games. The fatalities/stage fatalities were and still are more brutal and gruesome than mk. I love it
6:30
Oh Howard. I know exactly what you said in that frame it still hasn't aged well
My next door neighbor got one of those original SegaCDs
Christmas of 1993,i got me a Sega CD. Final fight and that Sherlock Holmes game was my favorite
Much like a AKI wrestling game this channel is pickup and play 🤘🤓 Nerdcore Hardcore
If I get kids, I'm going to name my 3 sons Welco, Metot, and Henex, and my daughter Tlevel.
I got a Sega CD but I just use an emulator nowadays.

In this case, it's just politicians doing what they do best: blaming everything unrelated to a problem so they can avoid facing its true source.
Had a Sega CD as a kid, fun little sset up
INXS, pronounced IN EXCESS, not "eye en ex es."🤦♂️
They made the second-best video of 1988.
i know is very early in the new channel and it doesn't bother me, but a friend who is watching me doing this seems bothered by the videos being in date dissorder
on another note
let's go! October 21th! 1992
I'm also bothered by that, but I think the playlist is arranged better. At least from what I noticed when skimming it.
@@gurvmlk Yes, the playlist has everything in the correct order.
Wow..hasbro was into softcore porn...lol.
Really...You didn't just say I, N, XS....It's In Excess.
Watcha talkin bout Willis
Dude, I remember all kind of wild rumors about the Sega CD back when I was a kid, including secret porn games on Digital Pictures’ games, like Ground Zero Texas, that you could unlock with pretty convoluted cheat codes.
Ummm, excuse editor Dylan. But H.E.R.O. is the best game on the Atari 2600, not Pitfall.
Sega CD games are so insanely expensive now.
Please tell me you didnt spell out I N X S .....
to think that sega was so ahead of the curve with such good ideas but ultimately sunk their own ship with their own crazy paranoia
I'm concerned that's actually how you pronounce INXS. Please tell me that isn't how you pronounce INXS.
Commmmment
