First review I’ve seen that gave a good timeframe for when this product will start to show improvement! I’ve been using this for 5 weeks and all the videos said they saw results in 2-3, but good to know that it took time to work for you too.

Thank you for such a informative video ! 😊😊😊 Quick question , can I use this retinol serum at night and the Cera ce hyaluronic acid serum in the morning ? Do I need SPF after the hyaluronic acid serum in the morning ? Please help. (I use the Cera ve foaming cleanser morning and night , also I have a sensitive skin)
could i use a toner that contains hyaluronic acid before using the cerave resurfacing retinol serum, or should i only use the toner when i am not using the serum?
Yes, but on alternate nights as Dr. Janet said. You want to avoid using alpha hydroxy acids (examples of AHAs include glycolic acids and lactic acids) and beta hydroxy acids (bHAs like salicylic acid) at the same time as retinols so that it doesn’t over dry or irritate your skin
For oily skin, I highly recommend using an oil first to break down the oils before your water-based cleanser. But you can do your cleanser twice. I find the former keeps my pores less clogged
Hi! I was about to purchase this exact product, what do you think of the fact that it has dimethicone as third ingredient? Retinol is really far from the first ingredients...
Dimethicone is very controversial in skincare. It is a skin conditioner and seals in moisture so people worry that it could clog pores but this is not backed by scientific research. Dimethicone like all skincare ingredients can cause irritation but it’s not a known skin irritant. But if you have reservations you could skip the product. Cos skincare is personalized, if you don’t feel comfortable with the ingredient list it’s fine to not use it. Yes Retinol is not high up in the list but the blend of ingredients is something to consider. Thanks
Retinoids are great for that. Retinol is a type of retinoid. It’s gentler on the skin than other types so you get less drying and redness but it may take longer to work. Still, people report good results after months of consistent use
You could do either ways. If you have very sensitive skin then applying a thin layer of a lightweight moisturizer will minimize irritation otherwise use a moisturizer afterwards. Thanks
@@DrJanet ok thank you ... one last question can I use the retinol then foam cleaner and then moisturizes .. and how long u think I should keep the retinol on my face for ?
Yes, they go well together since they’re from the same brand. Cerave recommends their Am moisturizer with SPF and their nighttime moisturizer with their retinol serums
i normally wash my face with noxema and use shea butter as my moisturizer, after washing my face can i apply this serum and still use shea butter as my moisturizer? it’s the only moisturizer i feel that works best for me and long lasting 🥺
I've been using this serum for 4 months now and I'm seeing important in skin texture and my skin is brighter. I'm hoping to continue to see results. I've been using it everyday for the last 2 months and that's when I've seen the most important, but I only use about a pea size amount because I have fair sensitive skin. When using retinol, Do you always have to go up in strength? Or if the low percent seems to work to just stick with it long term 🤷 I'm going to be 40years old
Good to know you have also seen good results with this serum. Since u have sensitive skin you should be fine with sticking with what works for you. For people who are looking for more significant anti-aging benefits tretinoin still gives better results. But it definitely isn’t an ingredient for everyone. You would still see very good results with retinol but at a much slower pace. Thanks
They are all retinoids but tretinoin is the “gold standard” or active form that mediates the effect on the skin. Retinol is a less potent retinoid. It gets converted to tretinoin in two steps in the skin
Good morning, I’ve been using the same cerave resurfacing retinol for about a week now. I know that irritation like dry skin and redness are expected during the first few weeks. However I also noticed that in the few days I’ve been using it, it made a few of my hyperpigmentation worse. Did this happen to you as well, is this apart of the process ?
If you have active back acne use differin gel, benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid or better still tretinoin from your dermatologist. When you have that under control you can use this to help with scars and keep your acne under control
It’s like the shoulder part would get one here and there but it’s just dark spots idk even know how I got it not even hereditary I’m the only in my family
can i use the cerave sa cleanser with the cerave resurfacing retinol serum at night and the cerave sa cleanser with the ordinary “niacinamide + zinc” serum in the morning?
Yes you can. That was the same cleanser I used in the beginning now I go between that and the foaming cleanser and its fine with the niacinamide + Zinc.
@@jennifers_beauty_boutique9788 if you are getting this after more than a couple of weeks, it's not a "purge", it's a reaction and you should stop and switch to a milder product and use less frequently.

I used two whole bottles for a year before I started tretinoin to ease up into it, it was a pretty good product.
I feel the same. Thank you for watching
But I cleaned up my acne by changing my diet. No dairy not too much carb and adding more vitamin D and Omega 3s, black seed oil and Manuka honey.

The retinol serum contains hyaluronic acid(HA) so using the HA toner in the morning is fine.
Your skin healed so well☺️ how long did it take you to see results?
It wasn’t so fast. It took about 3 months to see really noticeable results. Thanks
Please does this work for all skin types?
It could , but it is ideal for oily and acne prone skin with hyperpigmentation

I saw another dermatologist recommend squirting out an amount “the size of a pea” and it is enough for the whole face. Just a suggestion.
