Happy First Birthday to the Channel! Thank you all for your support, positivity and engagement. Thus far, I have tried to talk about affordable skincare products that are accessible at the drugstore and today I wanted to highlight CeraVe's Resurfacing Retinol Serum. Does this retinol check off all the boxes?
We all love retinoids for their anti-aging benefits as well as anti-acne properties. There are so many out there and I hope that these reviews help you especially if you are a beginner to retinoid creams/serums. I BOUGHT THIS WITH MY OWN MONEY.
I know this involves subjectivity especially in my opinion on the texture but I hope that an overview of the ingredients will help guide you on which fits you better. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

I just turned 60 😱 and I’ve taken ‘ok’ care of my skin thus far (though I tanned a LOT in the 70’s and 80’s - but we all did back then) I’m ready to learn more and do better! Thank you for taking your time and effort to educate us. I’ve watched a few other TH-camrs and I like your delivery style. (To the point, short videos, pleasant personality) I wish you much success with your channel. I’m sure your office will be booming with patients! 😊

Dr. Dan: I discovered your videos about a month ago and appreciate your expertise, and the fact you are not pushing expensive skin care products. I started taking better care of my skin when I was in my mid-thirties, after getting my first professional facial. I had been using soap and water and treating my T-zone area with products which actually made it produce more oil. Over the past 30+ years, I’ve continued getting various skin care treatments and have used both drugstore and expensive topical items. I’ve been using Cereve Vitamin C for a couple of weeks, and I swear I already see a difference!
Great information! I just started my anti aging skincare last month and started using this. I can see my skin is shedding. It seems to be working. I’m grateful there is good products at the drugstores. Skincare should be affordable for all.

I love this retinol and recommend it to everyone who’s just starting out! Even though I have sensitive skin and eczema, it’s effective with minimal to no irritation :)

I bought some of this, Cerave hydrating cleanser, & a Cetaphil light moisturizer. I wanted try this since I saw it said "resurfacing". I NEED that, and to fade acne scars. I've never been happy about my pore size since I was a teen either. I'm so glad to see a doctor likes this stuff. I just started to do my acne routine midday, then the non active wash, retinol, then moisturizer at night. I love the way this product feels too, and how easy to apply it is.

Thank you for your endorsement of an OTC retinol. (purple only experience for me thus far). YES, yes the promised comparison of the blue and purple. And Doc, will you advise? The CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, in the wide 16 oz tub, the 4th ingredient is alcohol. I like the price, the richness of the cream, the abundance of the product and yet every time I use it, I think better of it. Is there enough goodness in the list to weaken the 4th ingredient out?

Hi Doctor, just started using CeraVe skin renewing retinol serum in the purple bottle, really like it. After reading descriptions of both bottles, looks like the blue is for more oily skin, and I have normal to dry. Looking forward to your video to compare the two 🙂. I would like to try Skinscience Alpharet at some point, but CeraVe is really good, also love their cleansers.

Great video! This retinol plays very well with my rosacea. The one “con” I can think of is that you never know how much product you have left.

I use this Resurfacing Serum with Cetaphil moisturizer for almost a month now and I’ve never have this plumpy and clear skin in my life before 👍❤️

@@ThickBaloney i just wash my face with mild soap like cetaphil and moisturize with the cetaphil moisturizer and then wait for it to dry and finish it with the cerave resurfacing serum. Thats only for night. For day just soap, moisturizer and cerave sunscreen spf30. 😅

I really like how cerave has changed my skin so far. I have only tried their products a week ago and I can definitely tell the difference from before and after. It is obviously a process but I love the progress so far. The improvements on my skin are noticeable & it puts me in a good mood ❤ I appreciate people like you that puts out the effort to help us understand how important skin care can be.

I used this CeraVe for 2 months and a friend noticed my pores were smaller and I didn't even notice! I switched to a different brand just to try something different and I am now regretting it as my skin doesn't look as plump and smooth like it did with the CeraVe product. I just ordered the CeraVe!
That was a great demo of the "pea sized" amount. I had no idea how that worked. Most videos just assume you know.

I use the Neutrogena retinol cream as I love the thick consistency and the moister effect...I get around the lack of ceramides peptides and Vit B3 by dabbing B3 first until I feel it has sunk in...then I use Aussie brand Natio peptide ceramide serum that sinks right in as it has little humectants in it...then half an hour later the Neutrogena cream or oil [oil is new and interesting texture not so creamy and maybe a tad more potent as it sinks in, I use a cream after]...works for me as I have the time in the evening.

I always spent on overpriced, over hyped creams. 2 weeks in for me, and my skin looks the best it ever has in my 51 years. I use the cleanser, the resurfacing, the moisturiser, and the eye cream. All cost less than what I'd spend on a face cream ❤

Try the CeraVe moisturizers. I’m older so I use the night cream.There is one for both AM and PM. They have ceramides, niacinamides and hyaluronic acid. Absolute best! You can’t go wrong with these. Worth a try.

i have very sensitive skin and this one is so gentle! no irritation whatsoever, while when i was using differin 1/10 of the amount of cerave i use now would burn my skin completely. This is really great, a good moisturiser on top and you're golden!
