I love A313. It worked great for me. Better than Defferin for me. A313 has been the most effective over the counter retinol product I have used. And I have never noticed a smell.
you guys are the cutest !! I know you already covered Japan but I would love a video on trying popular Korean skin products ! (honestly an 'around the world tour' exploring most popular skin products from other countries would be super fascinating)
I have been using the anua dark spot correcting serum for a few months and I have to say this formula has been super effective and not irritating on my skin. I have use a number of dark spot skincare before including the numbuzin one and topical amongst many other viral products and I actually like this one the most. I did not think this one is that tacky as I also have the anua Niacin serum too, and that one is alot more tacky and less effective.
Mine is about to arrive today, I can't wait to try it. But ngl, I LOVE LOVE the ordinary's Niacinamide10%+Zinc. It's a game changer for me. So I want to compare these 2
A313 smells bad feels vaseline and is itchy at first . But I prefer it to any other retinol serum I've used (the loreal and the inkey list) it makes my skin smooth and bright. I am in my third tube. It's not for everyone, product experience is important for sticking to a skincare routine.
You guys are always fun to watch 😊 Please consider a video reviewing Walgreens branded skincare dupes, especially all the products that just launched like their take on YTTP superfood cleanser and the Kiehls ultra facial cream. Thanks!
I also use it and see results and love it! Oddly enough I even have to take a break from using it every few months or sometimes I’ll just use it a few times a week bc even tho it doesn’t sound like a powerful active (and scientifically shouldn’t be) - the product is strong. And effective. In my experience. And I don’t have sensitive skin at ALL.
@@j_kess_ability to use it consistently, is also a good thing. Try something stronger, you have irrigation, and then you stop using it all together. I’ve only used Inkey List. I believe in less is more. Then, ramp up as needed.
Dr. Maxwell, thank you for sharing that it takes a week for your skin to recovery after filming one of your videos. As someone with sensitive skin, I always marvel at how your skin can take all of the chemicals in the products you test.
As a hardcore tretinoin user (0.1%), i remember buying the a313 solely for recovery purposes -- when there are signs of slight irritation and it would be to risky to try anything active (tret, exfoliating acids). Works worders in this particular modus operandi. Next morning the skin always looks amazing, and in the evening i can wash it off without fears of 3rd degree burn:) Besides, recovery from irritations is one of the indications ACTUALLY given on the leaflet, so..
Can you do a video about picking moisturizers? What do different moisturizing ingredients do? Are some ingredients better for some skin types? Are some of them good compliments for specific active ingredients?
I just started using A313, and I saw a difference in my skin overnight! I’ve struggled with acne for 7 years, and this is the most effective product by far! Please give it a try!

With all due respect, you guys have no idea what you're talking about from a chemical level with A313. A313 contains retinyl palmitate which is a retinyl esther. This is a veritable retinoid that is actually more easily absorbed by the skin so retinoid receptors can start cellular turnover more effectively. Just because something is more concentrated doesn't necessarily mean it's better for your skin. Many people like me can't tolerate tretinoin at all. We're just allergic to it. A313 is instrumental in providing just the right dosage of protective retinoids to the skin. It smoothes and makes my skin vibrant without having it peel like a lizard with tretinoin. And, although it sort of has a salt and vinegar chips smell, the consistency is not like Vaseline if you follow the directions and warm it between your fingers before application. A313 has helped many people and is definitely a necessity for some.
Look it's okay if your skin enjoys thick ointments but the retinoid concentration of this is just 0.06% in the end. All the effects u think are happening is just placebo.
This is great if you have found something that has worked for you! Everyone has different skin needs, and we all should use the best products for us. They are actually correct about the A313. It is the lowest form of retinoid available. Tretinoin is the strongest. You skipped over 3 other forms in between. Imagine you are cold. You can go out and buy a sweater or you can go and buy some needles and yarn. You can absolutely get to a sweater with those 2 items, but it’s going to take more work before it gets transformed into the sweater. That’s totally ok. Some people find a sweater to be too hot! Some people enjoy (need) the steps of knitting. They may find that they don’t mind the work because it also makes them warm, even if it wasn’t instant like putting on a sweater. That may be a bad apology, but I think it’s still effective. They simply mean that once on the skin, the RP has to convert 3 times before it gets close to the level of tretinoin. That means that the results will take much longer and they won’t be as pronounced. Tret is absolutely not a necessity, and you are correct that not everyone can use it. But there are some other forms that are stronger than this product, but they are not as strong as Tret. Maybe try going up a step to retinol and see if that works for you? You might find that you tolerate it well, as you have had such great results with the A313. But it’s totally ok if you don’t either. 😊
Genuinely thank you for pointing out the cocamidopropyl betaine! I’m allergic to it and have been looking for a foaming mask (because of the experience) and was considering this because of the hype around it. I guess I’ll go look for another one :’) I never even actually considered that it could be in skincare too and not just shampoos etc😔
Loved your video. I love masks, but they have to do something, if even temporarily. Clay masks are great. There is some mask called Lift Pro carboxy gel treatment that I have 3 of and am fixing to try since I have tomorrow off. The problem with these leave-on-all-night masks is that I tend to rip them off in my sleep. That happened with the frownies. But next time I have to work a night shift I swear I’m showing up with frownies all over my face!
Not sure how this a313 hype started but in Portugal is very common to use vitamin A (retinol) pomades on wound healing and improving scars. They are super thick and not really meant for your face.
After 4 months of using A313, my friends and family commented on how my skin looks even better. I have pretty good skin, but after I turned 57, I noticed I just didn’t look awake and youthful. I have sensitive skin, and there’s definitely a tingle, but it’s not unbearable. For the price, and using it at night, it’s totally worth it and effective.
same for me, I've been using it since december 2023 (it's 9 months now) and I experienced some horrible peeling,I was like a snake, I surely made many mistakes using tretinoin, it's quite embarrassing since i've used retinoids before for acne. However, 9 months in, I can surely say that the key is to use the appropriate amount enough to create a really thin film around your whole face, let it sit for 10 - 20 min and I personally follow it up with a ceramides rich moisturizer, or a zinc oxide moisturizer.
A313 is interesting. I have been tring it and I get a pretty strong reaction to it, including itching and irritation. However, this is interesting because for the past 14 years I've been using .05% tretinoin. So these types of retinoids should be nothing to me. I guess maybe the propolene glycol is either occluding these retinoids and increasing their potency - or maybe there just somthing in there that's reacting with me.
I started using A313 cream for two months now, it works so much better than retinol for my skin. I have sensitive skin and most of the retinol products burnt my skin and did not work.. I think maybe this product works for certain group of people..also use Dr dennis gross peels it works great on my face. It did not work for one of my friend at all though. 😅 i guess sometimes you just have to try and figure out which one works
I started using retinol a year ago on and off, tried so many products, unfortunately non of them fit my skin. I would say people have different skin types and some products work great for certain people. I tried Cerave night cream and started horrible break out but Cerave facial cleanser works great. And I tried Dr Dennis gross retinol, it burned my face and made my skin worse, but the Daily Peel really helps with my acne. I watched a lot of videos about how a lot of dermatologists dislike A313 and SK-II Essense. However those two products shows the best result for my face. I do think a lot of time you have to try out different products to see which product work out for your type of skin instead of just listening to what people say. It's just my experience. However it does takes a LOT OF energy to try out different brands and products. It is very helpful to learn about ingredients so you know which kind of products to avoid if you have certain conditions.

Thank you for saying cocamidopropyl betaine is a known allergen. I am allergic to it and finding shampoos and soaps without it is so challenging. We need more options.
The only skin and hair care you need is a multipeptide collagen and keratin treatment with growth factors. Skinlyte has a soap that is loaded not only with collagen but also keratin peptides. It is called Hair & Whole Body Bar. It is fast absorbed because it has an enhanced peptide binding enhancement technology which produces water molecules in a condensation reaction that hydrates skin and hair naturally. It repairs, grows hair, naturally moisturizes, rebuilds and strengthens hair and skin. I got it at Amazon and I am impressed with new benefits I discover every time I use it. I noticed many improvements in my hair, skin and nails. What I like best about it is that it's all natural and without harmful chemicals such as synthetic dyes, fragrance, SLS or preservatives.
Good morning it’s great that you both are Doctors figuring that you’re putting God knows what on your face..😂 You two are quite a team and are fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and have a wonderful Thanksgiving… By the way I have your REEMDY skin products..

I would love to see a video containing your thoughts on brushes, pads, sponges powered not powered for cleaning your face, are they worth it, should we just use our fingers?
I watch another dermatologist on TH-cam who loves a313. She said it has a cult following because even though it's a retinol ester it has an immediate gratification effect the next day and following days. That may be due to the fact that it's an ointment like you guys said.
Been using a313 for year my skin looks great it’s heavy but mine doesn’t smell . Maybe you have bad batch ? I bought mine in France . I can’t use most retinols so I agree w you for most people there are better products but I love it and I’m glad I have two tubes left my skin love it. Have you reviewed merit serum? You’re my guinea pigs. I’m allergic to everything so there is little for me to use.
Love your videos. I use The Phix skincare products which are really good. I would love if you both can do a review and share both of your opinions on it.
For the next episode, could you review the Medicube Zero Exosome Shot 2000 or 7500. I'm curious to see both of your opinions. Personally, I use the Medicube shot and the mask together!
Can you guys try out the 'Pai Skincare' brand? Preferably the Pai Skincare Resurrection Girl Hydrating Blue Tansy Face Mask? I got a trial size bottle of it and have used multiple times and I'm not a big Mask fan but I genuinely loved this stuff. I would just love to hear from professionals I trust on their opinions of it!
I’m one of those people who love A313. I have very sensitive skin and have had terrible luck with most retinols, OTC and Rx. I think the occlusive formula really locks in all my skincare. I use calming and hydrating products as well. I wake up with soft, smooth skin and no irritation. I agree that for anyone who can tolerate it, there are way more effective retinols out there.

Highly entertaining and fun video! You two make the best team, and I learn something too.
Good morning it’s great that you both are Doctors figuring that you’re putting God knows what on your face..😂 You two are quite a team and are fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and have a wonderful Thanksgiving…
By the way I have your REEMDY skin products..
Definitely love your affordable skin care routine video but what about high end lines? Ones like Barbara Strum or Augustinus Bader. Worth it?
Have you reviewed hanacure mask and done review/show on body lotion ? Something that hydrates that doesn’t leave you greasy . Like to hydrate but able to do yoga class without my hands slipping. Thanks you save me tons of $$$ and my skin
Thanks. Always fun and educational 😊
ZIIP machine- can you do a review
I can’t find any scientific research that they work
Love your videos. I use The Phix skincare products which are really good. I would love if you both can do a review and share both of your opinions on it.
You two are fabulous! So informative
For the next episode, could you review the Medicube Zero Exosome Shot 2000 or 7500. I'm curious to see both of your opinions. Personally, I use the Medicube shot and the mask together!
Love you guys,,,here in Canada we also need your discount,,,.keep up the great work, gramma
Please make a review of d'alba products with a white truffle 😊
Pop Rocks for your face! Great reviews! The peeling masks remind me of the old standard at-home egg white masks.
1:50 aren’t peel off masks harmful to the skin barrier?
It is really based on the mask itself and skin type. In general you want it to be quite gentle.
I’m starting accutane probably end of this month or start of October, wish me luck
I’m thinking if the A313 might have great use for anti-chaffing/lightening dark areas from thickening of skin based on how you describe it.
Please launch Remedy in Canada. I want to try the serum so bad :(
“Phantom of the opera” vibe. haha love it.
Don't get me wrong you guys I love this series but can we go back to the basics (skin type skin care recs) or talk about single ingredients/ roseasia
Watch Dr Dray too, she is wonderful.
Enjoyed this video!!
"......and it smells quite terrible." I'm dead 😂😂😂
Please review Adovia mud mask, Seacret peeling gel, and Dead Sea Salt (certified and uncertified).
The video we didn’t know if we wanted, but needed 😂
I use Skin Republic Silicone Mask when I slug so it doesn't come off on my pillow.
