I think the inconsistency with Icy Currant might just be a carry-over from Electric Currant. I've seen Chickens manage to dash right through the electric fields just fine, in fact it's a fairly frequently occurrence. Certainly helped to make that Zomboss fight at the end of the Wild West Expansion just that little bit more insufferable.
That level is the only level that i just couldn't beat. It is so finicky, electric currant and spikeweed does nothing to the chicken considering they spam chicken wrangler at the halfway point. And when you finally reach the last stage they just spam gargantuar. Awful! I even pre boosted hypno shroom from zen garden and i still couldn't beat it. The strategy that is available on the internet is so RNG dependant, one loose chicken and you're done. I spent like a good two hours just tinkering with the strategy, not to mention the tens of thousands of dollars used for power ups. Next time it comes thru I'll either not play it at all for the sake of my sanity or boost every plant that is used in that level. Hypno shroom, spikeweed, wallnut, and electric currant if it's even possible. They should give us endurian instead of wallnut to give us at least a fighting chance.

Jester in international version: I am the destroyer of strategies. You must prepare around me or lose. Jester in chinese version: I can only reflect like three projectiles.
As a coder, maybe the hypnotizing code tells the plant to flip a boolean and invert the speed of the plant (soo it moves to the opposite side) and since the hypnotized turkey, although in our side, is still counted as a zombie, we freaking die because of it
If you watch carefully, you can see that the middle balloon zombie wasn't damaged on the first tick, therefore wasn't slowed and got much farther in that time, letting it get by with its balloon intact. Whether this due to a slightly different speed or just a tiny difference in initial spacing when spawned, that's definitely what's responsible.
I believe not due to zombie having the same speed if they are the same one The first one was like that due to the different walking animations for normal zombies in pvz1
@@KogasaTatara514 I believe the actual cause is a bit weirder. From what I can tell, the way that Electric and Icy Currant are programmed to deal damage is different from Spikeweed. This is because while Spikeweed only begins its attack while targets walk over it and deals consistent damage with exposure, the two Currants are always attacking. This sounds fine, but the time between attacks is rather noticeable, and the hitbox of said attack isn't nearly as large as Spikeweed. This causes an effect where zombies can walk through the AOE without taking damage because they entered the area between damage ticks. This is the exact reason why a Chicken can dash through a Currant sometimes but never will with Spikeweed. Same with variants like Weasel. These enemies move just fast enough and have such small hitboxes that they have time to pass through the AOE before it hits them if it ticked over just before they made contact. Really stupid, and really frustrating, but it kind of makes sense, at least from a logical standpoint. A simple fix would simply be reducing Currant's damage per tick but increasing the rate at which they hit. But of course, nobody likes Currant, so they'll never get attention.

Just because it is not mentioned in the video Eggplant Ninja is considered a great plant because it could potentially deal a considerable amounts of damage to the zombies. Yes, I mean it. It deals damage per frame so if you place it in the front (causing it's bullets to fly slower) its bullet will hit the zombies for more frames therefore dealing insane amounts of damage.
