Design-wise, these plants look hella better than the ones we've got recently on the international version. I still can't get over Boomberry/blockoli/rhubarbian/dartichoke having literally the same weird face
I often voice my gripes and dissatisfaction with PVZ2C, but Claw Gloriosa is genuinely one of the most creative plants I've seen, even within regular PVZ2. Earthstar is also pretty neat, but they made the awful decision of making him an auto-activated plant rather than a reusable insta (like banana launcher for example), and his projectiles seem to do too much damage, which kind of defeats the purpose of being a weakener. Same for when he uses his plant food. Rather than it being a large AoE rad effect, it's just Banana Launcher's plant food, which is very lame.
Well Earthstar, and to be honest, all these plants in this video are Gold Tier, meaning they have the highest rarity and the only way you can unlock them is by doing "gacha" (quoted because it's not similar to gacha) and it'll only give you parts, you need 50 in order to unlock them. Them being OP is really worth it because it's kinda PTW to get in the first place.
@@shinhikaru Such a shame too. Great plants, made worse by the laziness of the devs and pay-to-win mechanics. I think they actually took Banana Launcher PF code and just put it on Earthstar (which would explain why it hits in 1x3 instead of a star pattern). The PF also just reuses the regular attack animation but repeats it 4 times fast. Gosh, what an awful dev team.

Making money ( people love melee attack plant ! ), and you may notice that the Chinese version has very few single use plants ( because they can't make money from them - player doesn't like single use plant )

It might have something to do with the folklore which a lot of Plants are based on. Samurai, kung-fu, and swordfighting/knights (because European fantasy stuff is really easy to come by).
The celebration soda palm's description may illude to how the design process of the plant actually went. Maybe it started out as the champagne palm, but they had to redesign it as the celebration soda palm.
I think only 1 plant out of the entire 9 episodes has been able to be reflected by Jester zombies, and it wasn't even a huge issue because the plant wasn't super good anyway

i actually tried to make a level on creative yard (chinese pvz2 has this mode, it's basically mario maker but for pvz2) where there's some columns with minecarts and the rest are all covered in mold except for 2 tiles on lane 1, which you have to use for lava guavas, although, i changed claw gloriosa for sweet potato since i found the minecart trick too hard to pull.
Yeah, barrel rollers' barrels when rolled in both PVZ2 INT. And CH. Just do alot of contact damage, so with low health plants its basically a instant kill but with things with higher hp it takes them longer.
for 20:18 the devs probably coded the zombie shield to be a “hypnotized” zombie so that it didn’t eat the plant that’s using it for fodder. Chickens/Weasels release when the main body is hyponotized so that’s probably what happened
I'm guessing the reason why the chickens fight for you is that they used some of the same code for grabbing and holding zombies as hypnotizing, so that other zombies would eat them. I guess the chickens going the other way and being eaten by other zombies is just a side effect they either missed or didn't bother to change.

Kind of weird how Bullies transform into regular Radioactive Zombies despite the fact there seems to be a promotional image that shows Radioactive Bullies (at least on the PvZ Wiki)... and the fact that Radioactive Imps are the exact same as Imp Pear Imps. Also, wow, looking at Soda Bottle Palm and Impaintiens (sorry, I like these names better) face-first, they really aren't as impressive/original as I originally thought they were, despite their neat concepts (a soda bottle plant that references soda exploding when shaken up, a flower that colors herself and slightly changes her attacks)
I have a theory about the chickens. When claw grabs a zombie, it's turning the zombie to your side similar to hypnoshroom, but also stunning it and modifying it's health. That modification to chicken zombie probably breaks the threshold for releasing chickens, and since the chicken zombie is on your side, you get the chickens.

Okay I've been binging these recently, and I have to commend your use of music based on the plant. Like, for fire plants, you'll use fire/lava related song, and ice plants the same. For that one curling plant, you used sports game music. For the silo, you used all "poison" related songs. It's super cool that you theme the BGM.

I think it would be cool if impatiens shooter would cycle through the different stages instead of being a dazey chain clone
