Monkey King: Solos gargantuars at level 1. 200 sun.

Agave honestly seems like a really cool plant. I love the charging mechanic, it's very unique.
Monkeyfruit is just broken. Not only can it solo an entire wave of gargantuars on one lane, it can do it before they even get halfway across the lawn. And it costs the same as a repeater.
Pretty little plum seems like a good idea, but it doesn't look like its damage is good enough for it to be worth using.
Dragonfruit also seems really good. He does a lot of damage for a plant that costs 150 sun and can attack in a 3x3 area.
Angel starfruit is pretty much just starfruit with some more stuff added to it, like the rotating and different star types. Its plant food seems absolutely ridiculous though, it looks like it can just shred an entire wave with that plant food.

Agave is a really cool looking plant, it's a neat different version of the old melee plant design where it can charge. I wonder if someone will ever put that in an international version mod, I really like it.
I'm pretty sure we never have a very expensive melee plant in International version before

@Bug The False she costs 225 sun and her upgrades do almost nothing, there are plenty other plants cheaper then her and do much more damage

As a person who has a Level 5 Monkeyfruit I can confirm it is one of the most broken plants in the game. You literally can NOT die in Endless Zones as long as you have at least one in every lane

So what I'm getting is that Dragonfruit is Pepper-Pult but better in basically every way.
dragonfruit is just a little bit harder to level up
@@ninjapirate123 you get pepper pult level 3 free by playing adventure mode, you cant do that with dragonfruit so it's harder to level up.
Well, in it's defense, Pepper Pult doesn't get fucked by one of it's own upgrades
Angel starfruit's plant food attack reminds me of touhou bosses and how they like to spam bullets. Glad we can harness that power.
Vulture Fighter's also got a Touhou-like move.

I like how in this version of pvz2 costume has it's own active and passive abilities provided to the plant that equipped it
I personally disagree, i don't like visual items affecting stats, while the extra ability is cool, i prefer to choose cosmetics over how i think they look rather than their specific buffs.
That's just my opinion, though.

I've seen this in other places. Anytime Sun Wukong is involved, even tangentially, it's busted. This goes double if the product is being developed by the Chinese. Sun Wukong is the baby face, everyone else is jobbers and heels.
Its china, what do you expect? Nationalism reeks in everything they do, they always have to show that they are superior to others..even the smallest unnecessary aspects in media portrayal. When they dont understand that its gloaters who mostly do this to hide insecurity

I have a challenge:find an animal that's not 2d(impossible)
It's also worth mentioning that agave, such as a sentry plant, have extraordinarily sharp leaves, or at least hard and pointy leaves.
I remember brushing past one when I was in China, it hurt way more then I expected

Pretty Little Plum sounds like a better Starfruit, having the Star pattern at the enemy allows all 5 Petals to possibly connect, while Starfruit at most 2.
The plums attack is bad, so even if starfruit couldn't hit most zombies plums attack power makes plums generally weaker, however if plum has higher attack her plant food effect is godly

Love the content man, but is it possible that when talking about the other Chinese plants that you could leave a small note after talking about the plants inspiration or stats/almanac entry. Could you bring up what the plant is tied to like what world/event/or something else, that the plant is tied to in Chinese plants vs zombies?
It's something small that would go a long way.
Doesn't he already put the almanac entry and the plant's inspirations? And most of this plants are basically extra plants, they don't belong or have relations with any world specifically and most of them appear on random events that aren't specifically related to them. Maybe there are exemptions, but most of them are like this
Most plants are just put randomly in events or challenges, only like a small part of the Chinese plants are actually from worlds

Although Kiwifruit is OP, but it's really not a good choice to play Penny Pursuit, Memory Lane or even many other events. People usually choose other plants with more terrible power like Sling Pea lvl5 or Snapdragon lv5 and Angel Starfruit or Cactus Lv5. (This is just a some information about strategy)
@@ninjapirate123 because in the past Sun shroom was the plant that produced the most sun ( 75 sun ) when the sun was only worth 25. And Snapdragon can attack splash damage, especially his level 5 skill can be considered the strongest damage in the game. .

For the pretty little plum slander, I don’t think it’s a bad plant. It’s for sure not the best, but not bad. It’s meant to be a secondary attacker to chip down the weaker zombies and do some area damage. It’s not meant to be your main attacker unlike plants like monkeyfruit. It’s meant to be support.

i feel like once you get a plant to do their plant food effect when planted with a ~% chance, it just gets most of it's usability from that (unless it's a low chance)
kinda like how in some arena or penny's pursuit levels where every non-insta plant gets a first strike effect

Agave looks really cool, I wish he was in the international version. Also, Monkeyfruit is broken as hell and Angel Starfruit went full Touhou at 14:41

i believe the reason why Monkeyfruit is so fucking OP is that it is based off the deity Sun Wukong, the monkey king, who, lets just say, is quite powerful. the staff is his most used weapon, and the clones are also used by him as offense, plus distraction purposes
That staff also happens to be able to change size to the user's whims, meaning that if he wants it to become giant, it does. It's original form is more like a giant pillar, even.

Best attack is sling pea, then is raspberrynade thrower
@@ninjapirate123 firebloom queen has lower dps than the monkey fruit, costs twice as much and doesn't have cc effect. Generally, monkey is still stronger. And fire bloom queen can't kill a garg at level 1 on her own

I kind of wish that the costs of the plants were shown at the start of the showcase? The cost of a plant really helps frame its usefulness. It would be a bit weird to change the format in the middle of a series though
I kinda like the surprise of it, seeing how good or bad a plant is makes you guess how much it could cost

Only if it is in the upgrading effects. For example, jalapeno's tier 3 upgrade is that its cost gets reduced

Monkeyfruit's sound effect is probably the same sound used for the Torch Monk Zombie's spinning torch, hence why it only plays in Kongfu World (where Torch Monk Zombie normally appears)

Dragonfruit is literally just a Pepper-Pult with alternate plant food effect. (At level one, at least)
I'm convinced some of the Plant food effects in this version are just touhou references.
Agave is also used to make tequila, hence the old name Guerrequila was used. "Guerre-" I'm guessing is taken from the word Guerrero which in Spanish means Warrior or Fighter, and "-quila" from tequila. I am a bit bummed the original name was scrapped out, maybe since it had the name of an alcoholic drink in its name.
Ah, that's a pretty good explanation of the old name. I was wondering why it was scrapped too.
Speaking of name, is it just me or shpuld Agave be called Aglaive? Like it still has the plant name there but also a weapon name. I know it's not really swinging a glaive but it's a long reaching bladed weapon so it might still fit.
