    Today we are installing the JXB DriveShaft Carrier Upgrade for the B5 S4.
    This is a must for almost all of our cars being that these carriers have seen 20 years of service as well as thousands of miles and for some some very harsh temperature changes. This new carrier will eliminate the old carriers weaknesses, all with a simple install that doesn’t even require removing the drive shaft.
    This carrier upgrade is available for almost all Audi Torsten base Quattro chasis.

    Okay got mine installed with street bushings, and test drove my B5 A4 Avant on it with stock exhaust. I don't really detect any NVH, and honestly feels like there's less of it now due to how old and crusty my old carrier was. The first to second wrestle match is very minimal now (though my transmission is probably just super worn out at 256k miles), like he said the knocking in the back from on/off throttle is gone, and haven't heard very many noises going 90 MPH. I had extreme anxiety about cutting a piece of a ~$2000 part, but if you torque to spec and use thread lock (Please for the love of god use thread lock), it feels like a great upgrade. Maybe at some point there will be replacement bushings for sale if they wear out.
    Also, I'll state it again, PLEASE take off the two 13 mm bolts holding the old carrier first before chopping up the old one. You'll want to make sure they'll come out, and it will help determine if your bearing is rotating with no resistance or if it binds up. I doubt this mount will help with a bearing that's about to seize up so please check those first before cutting.

    Great Great Great UPGRADE, Received and installed it today, My bearing was fine, It was the housing and rubber support that holds the bearing that was worn out, I could not get the Support anywhere, The part that was suppose to go on the Car, Dodge wants to sell you a complete new Driveshaft, NOT ONE, NONE , No part house anywhere within 500 miles of me had the bearing and support for a 2016 Challenger R/T Purchased this, Installed this, Without taking Drive shaft out, Its smoother than its been for last 5 months, No Noise at all, I purchased street version, I do not run the car hard, Excellevt part and design , Better than original really !!!!!!!!!!

    Crazy how I just heard about this product a week ago as my bearing housing did have the rubber broken apart and making the rubbing and kluncking noise. I kept thinking it was a hub bearing and it was not, I replaced with this JXB upgrade and it did fix the issue but at speed of 55mph or more the knocking seems to come back just a little and I feel the drive shaft like if it was unbalanced. Plan on upgrading to the stiffer track bushing and make sure the shaft is completely aligned center I think I may have missed that part and your video reminded me. At least for now my driving is mostly city and 45mph or less. Good video....

    One thing I want to point out on the video. You mentioned to cut the bearing before unbolting the two bolts on the old carrier. I would definitely loosen both before cutting to make sure those bolts won't give someone issues like snapping or being super rusted up. Tighten them back up when you're ready to cut, but it would suck to cut that carrier and something with those bolts doesn't go the way you want it to.

    • @CIPGAS

    Hey great content! I was wondering if there's a huge difference between the street and track stiffness being stage 2 im wondering if the street will wear out quicker with excess vibration more power than stock and all that, or if it'll hold up just as long as the track. keep it up love the videos!!

    • @CIPGAS
      @CIPGAS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I’m my opinion the track and street bushing will both last you a very long time. I’ve also run both and recommend that everyone run the street bushing unless you’re completely devoted to drivetrain stiffness and response. You will definitely get vibrations from the track mount.

  • @-.__.__.-Rad

    Personally I can only see this as an upgrade if your habit is to launch almost daily - it could help there...
    But I believe the bushing is intended to pick up on the vibrations, instead of transmitting them into the cabin. Plus - does JXB warranty the life of the OEM bearing will stay the same? My guess is that bearing will fail sooner with the rigid setup. When that happens....

    I just get rid of my rear humming noise. After 3 rear wheel bearing changes in 90k mi, last one only lasted 10k. I changed the uprights. Silence.... for now. Hooe it stays that way. Not sure why my bearings cwere going bad. Ideas?
    But, while under there i saw center mount was tired. Back in 13' i separated my stock DS in my b5 a4. Just to find u joints were going bad. I bit the bullet and bought a DDS DS. Just a grand back then, 1300 now, lol. U might have more experience with b5 s4 then me, though i do repair all probs with this car on past 10 yrs. So every few months some repairing, 😂 . At 213k mi. Should one get a new DS or just get this? I mean how long can these center bearings last? The time is coming shortly that my girl will have to make that 10 to 15 thousand dollar question. I do feel that clunk your talking about too.
    Ill go back to your body work vid to ask questions there about under sude skirt damage. Thanks

    Is this a vast improvement over a new standard bearing? Realise it’s easier to fit but is it an upgrade?

    • @CIPGAS
      @CIPGAS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is definitely an upgrade when going with the stiffer bushings. The driveshaft movement is reduced when compared to a brand new OEM carrier. But that does introduce some NVH into the cabin. The softer of the two bushings is pretty much on par with a new OEM carrier when it come to feel and movement.
