    Stormworks really needs a small propeller without the two block extension.... :)

    i like how the engine is sticking out a bit
    and the boat looks like a more modern version of the default boat you get at the start of the game

    I would strap 6 to a hull and try to make a nice cigarette boat. Awesome little engine

      Great way to save hull space, before you would always have to have a small engine room for any boat you build.

      It's a closed system yes, air (and exhaust would be best too) should be out of the water.

      Real engines can as well, thats what snorkels are for on cars, to let the engine get air while submerged.

    there is no clutch inbetween your electric starter motor and your prop doesn't that mean when you are starting the engine that the boat wil go forward?

      It briefly lets power through to start, 0-2 rps, wont be enough to move it more than a few meters normally.

    these engines are perfect with 3 cylinders each, but with a good gearbox it still goes 35 knots, and with 2 medium fuel tanks on the boat, it lasts a while. This is on a boat of very similar proportions.

    Great video, one issue: your using salt water for cooling which will cause engine scaling

      Yes, you are right, but in my testing the fuel will finish before that ever becomes a issue.

    Can you make it so the NJ PID remember the setting (AFR)? It take five minutes to adjust, and forgets it every time it spawns in.

      Well it does but each time you respawn it will relearn it. Sorry, you could always just go into the controller and set the Adjust Value Manually.

    A clutch does not convert power. A clutch allows power to go through it(or not) not converting it.

      Engines still work w out clutches, they just output power constantly, if running.

      @@johnnykirk1501 yes but the modular engine crankshafts don’t have pipe connections, the modular engine clutch is basically like an adapter.

    Would be nice if they gave use an alternator with pull cord, so you could run a small motor without a battery. Also you did not add a way to refuel that boat.

    For some reason, when i downloaded the engines from the workshop and attach them to my boat with the engine controllers and try and run the motors, the engines die about 30 sec into starting it. Any help please?

    When I copied your engine, it didnt work. I dont know why, when I put in the clutch, it just died. Can I please get an answer or some help? (edit: Ive tested and messed around a little bit, and found out that it comes to 4,99 rps when I set up the throttle. So what happens it that it stops and tries to start itself. But then it just stops when its right about to start. How can I fix this problem?)

      Yah but tbh i havnt seen any actual damage from testing and normally wont keep it spawned in long enough to worry i think.

    Since the engine is cooled with salt/sea water, Won’t it damage it?

      Yes over a very long period of time it will eventually start to damage the engine performance, but you would run out of fuel many times before you had any issues. Or you could add fresh water instead but then would make it an unrealistic size.

    It goes 3 rps a second. And to start it I have to full throttle even before putting it on. Please help

    This is a really good engine the only problem for me is the steering is inverted. and I haven't found a way to fix it yet be advised I'm new to building in storm works this is my second boat I've made. so, the solution is probably very easy.

      If its inverted try to turn delete the pivot and out it in again but before press U it will invert the spinning direction or if you're lazy get into the parts menu and grab a Numerical Inverter.

    Ok you make good tutorials but all of them have like “oh and you need this micro controller that I didn’t put in the description or you can use a key and a throttle lever that I’m not gonna show you how to do and just use the micro controller that I have

    Could you have used a hinge because It has ports for fuel? So you would have more fuel capacity.

      Or you could use 2 fluid connectors and use a hose in between.

    I am actually having a problem using your controller. The afr is adjusting a little too fast. It spikes one direction than the other. I tried to understand how you inverted the signal so it removes fuel versus adding fuel. I wish there was a way to invert the pids.

      My suggestion is to edit the microcontroller to remove that part all together, then experiment with your own value. It is just a simple up down counter that needs replacement.
