I always liked Roger Clark's interpretation he says something along the lines of respecting Arthur's final wish Arthur wanted to save John and get him away and died doing so this also makes sense since even if you don't talk in the stand off Dutch will still shoot Micah so in a sense yes he was there with the same purpose as John, revenge even if he despises John for betraying him he still chose to honor Arthur
I want to point out that if you shoot Micah to early Dutch shoots John even though that's why he himself was there in the first place... Underlines his ego perfectly...
Eh, I interpret that as him reasonably assuming that you're going to shoot him right after, and so he instinctively retaliates. This is supported by dialogue that we as the player can't ever hear ourselves without cheats but is in fact said after our death, where Dutch expresses remorse for shooting John.
Dutch's former beliefs for his gang/family (before Micah's brainwashing) remind me of the SOLDIER mantra from FF7, but in a slightly remixed way: "Embrace your dreams, & protect your honor as an outlaw."
I'm still wondering is there ever a way that dutch could have took over the position of angelo bronte into becoming a crimelord, like can the van der linde gang could have become a big syndicate group at that point when they killed bronte off or dutch could have done a ransome?
I don't know sport, I guess
Fair enough 🤠

Dutch is not a stupid man. He finally came to a realization. He always knew what Micah was.
I want to skin Micha and get the legendary rat pelt.
Craft the legendary Rat boots
Me too 😂
Same

I always thought Dutch manipulated the man that manipulated him to get in close and take him out to get the last laugh

I think he wanted to get payback for what he did to him and to his son who died from TB
