True, but are they charging for the public nuisances, because it almost seems like what I heard when he got arrested. Just charged for trespass with no criminal intent beyond a slap on the wrist, and they just shit on human rights and plan to throw away the key. That is not justice. That is what I would call a fucked court system abused by prosecutors and judges.
Is it just me, or does Kick have an unusually high concentration of menaces to society? I swear this same kind of story happens at least once a month now.
Not just you, I assure you :/ kick is fertile soil for these kinds of people. Kick lives off of this clout and more dumb streamers go be a menace there, they seek being relevant in the worst ways possible just to get more people in the platform probably :/
It’s because so far for now Kick as a platform is more concerned with getting more people on their platform then their competitors. So they’re not really as thorough with choosing who to have as opposed to other companies
If I remember correctly, the point of Kick was that it wasn't gonna be restricted as Twitch, which could have been good for creators not having to limit themselves. But it's just attracted a lot of degenerates who were either kicked from Twitch or wanna be vile to the platform. I wouldn't be surprised if sooner or later Kick dies out.
@capslock4959 probably meant there was no uncertainty to play devil's advocate. Normally it can be argued either way with heavy leaning towards one side, but in this case only brain dead people would argue for Johnny's side.
this is one of those very rare cases where we really can say he got what he deserved. there were so many chances he could've turned things around and he had smite Japan every chance he could with malicious intent.
I watched a stream from Sora the Troll the other day and he gave some information on how Japan works. 1.) Americans are not all being painted with the same brush because of him 2.) Despite not actually getting violent in the fhe times he's been physically attacked he's still legally at fault for inciting the violence, so if he tried to go after One Punch Manbun he's in trouble himself. 3.) The Gyu-don restaurant incident can get him jail time for disrupting the running of a business, and he's facing up yo 3 years. 4.) The Japanese found out that if they start screaming his real name while he's streaming then he gets butthurt and stops the stream.
You have to do pretty bad for the police of Japan to arrest you on trespassing charges instead of smoking that weed. I'm most impressed that he managed to pull that off (having weed in Japan) given just how much attention he was drawing to himself
Oh no, they let him go because it's just more evidence to use against him. Remember, the country isn't known for getting the convicted into submitting a guilty plea 99% of the time. The only way bro can get away with it in court is in a body bag at this point 💀

As an American I see people like Johnny Somali, and it makes me not want to travel to somewhere like Japan because I don't want to come off as an insufferable jerk (even though I and many people probably wouldn't). People like him really do have the chance to instill negative stereotypes on the macro level and it genuinely makes me angry. It's really does feel like it's always the most insensitive, uncultured, stupid people that have the privilege of travelling around the world, while the rest of us can only dream of doing it.
It's not that. There are foreigners who live and work in Japan and are feeling uneasy because of Johnny. The Japanese are looking at foreigners with distain.

I lived in Japan for half a year and I can tell, japanese people are the most respectful people that I had the chance to interact with. He really asked for it if japanese people act like this with him
yea, japan is respectful and nice but they are not ok with everything, when they go full stop on you its a very hostile country.. to simply get a good lawyer is close to impossible. If japan push the case johnny will be toast. foreigners dont have a good legal protection in japan, they have less rights than a 100% born Japanese person. That is why you avoid creating legal issues in japan as a tourist/foreigner.
It depends on what you're doing, if it's seen as disruptive and jackassery, then no. There's a few guys here on TH-cam that do living statue and bush jumpscare channels where they spook people, but it's always done in good humor.
@@ErynnDBuck the jumpscare pranks is a thing that the japanese people do as well but when you enter areas illegally and wear a mask over your face will change the situation. The loud music and inappropriate choice of music.. only add to it
Honestly no apology he can do should be accepted. He knew what he was doing and he didn’t care, him paying the price is the only way he’ll learn. And if he still chooses not to learn then he deserves a even harsher punishment.
I disagree. He's an idiot but trespassing on a construction site for 1 minute isn't worth even a minute in prison, let alone 5 years. Also, I have seen you in comment sections on different videos many times at this point. It started with Breaking Bad videos then you appeared elsewhere. Absolutely wild.
Being lenient to people 'just doin a lil trespassin n harassin' is how this gets encouraged. They gotta throw the book at people who do this and make some bigass examples. 5 years isn't enough.
Honestly, as an younger American who went over to Europe recently, I even know to not f around and find out when the culture is noticeably different. The only 2 times the culture difference made me feel stupid was when I was shopping for shirts in which I accidentally bought women shirts when I needed male ones, I had to go back to the store and explain (thankfully they spoke English), after a little bit of them half joking for me being american and 'not wanting help' initally, they gave me male versions and I was on my way. Moral of the story: Just be respectful when in a Foreign Country the best you can, especially in Japan of all places. Still I get embarrassed thinking about being a complete idiot in that store sadly.
Hopefully he enjoys Japanese prison, especially the ones around Osaka that host the most yakuza members. I'm sure his gaijin status will make him very popular, especially if they know why he's there.
@lokelaufeyson9931 In japanese prisons you are forced to speak japanese, no matter if you are japanese or not. And being that Johnny's japanese boils down to Fukushima Nagazaki, I dont think he would even be able survive the guards.
That’s not how their jails work. It’s complete silence. And discipline. He if gonna be terrified with the police. Can’t imagine being this much of a weirdo. I went to Japan for a new years festival since my uncle moved there to live with his girlfriend (now wife). I felt so out of place and actually bumped into a guy who ended up apologising to me despite it being my fault. It’s so strange how completely different my experience was to this guys, but then I remember I was being polite.
It depends on where you are and how you look a bit, but generally touring Japan is a pretty pleasant experience as long as you ignore places that don’t allow the non-ethnically Japanese. It’s especially fun if you’re muscly. The amount of attention you can get in pubs if you’re somewhat ripped and tall can make for fantastic stories.
@@maddieb.4282 ah, that came off wrong then. It's what I've seen happen to some dude rather than me personally. Places that don't allow migrants/tourist are especially prevalent in Tokyo. You can even find stories about people being denied a flat because of their ethnicity.
it could be harder for other Japanese streamers. Trash Taste, Ludwig, even Demondice, and other streamers living in Japan could make things harder. Japan’s politicians have been thinking about banning IRL streaming all together.
streaming issue in japan is not because of idiots like johnny boy here. it is an issue of culture where privacy is paramount. poking your nose in other peoples business is very large faux pas over there. chief secretary (second man in line after prime minister) literally said that rights and freedoms of youtubers must be allowed but that privacy of other people must be respected also. so irl streaming will not be banned. it will be regulated more and i, for one, consider that a good progress in modern society. it is an act considered specifically for nuisance streamers that are not welcome over there.
This can drag for a long time. If what I've heard is right, the detention time can be up to 23 days PER charge...if more come up (and I think they will) he can be released then re-arrested for a good while
I hope he's convicted. The people of Japan shouldn't have to put up with this type of crap in public. It's really unacceptable to be disruptive in public and to take advantage of/weaponize that for online points is pretty low.
i dont think he ruin the trip for us normal people, they dont discriminate based on one person. It may be a different situation if you go to japan and tell people that you stream on kick though.. no matter what you stream the japanese people will have a negative feeling around you based on your streaming platform. But visit japan as a tourist? its no issues. You will be treated nice and friendly. They are not so bad as you think.. its the same if i would go to usa and act like a idiot and get put in jail and so on.. im not going to doom all other swedes to a bad treatment.
@snowygalaxy one guy wont create any issues for tourists and such.. if someone is scared that they will be treated badly due to what johnny do then they have a personal issue with their own image or what they do..

I have family in Japan that live in the Kansai area, and the recent amount of news about NK missile tests splashing down into the sea makes Johnny Somali playing a literal AIR RAID SIREN IN A PUBLIC AREA makes this so much worse. I dont want my grandparents having a heart attack while out in public hearing that.
so sorry to hear that. Your poor grandparents! i think Muta missed it, but Somali was also shouting 'Nagasaki!' and 'Fukashima!' also.. despicable. Hope he gets the full sentence possible.

Gotta say, I hope he gets the 3 year sentence and has to serve every day of it and maybe his fellow prisoners inside the Japanese prison can teach him how to follow rules and be a more respectful person (or beat the crap out of him daily). At minimum he needs to be banned from the country forever.
Japanese prisons are notorious for strict discipline especially foreigners prison, they have tatami mats as floorings so prison will get really cold during winters, minimalistic lifestyle approach that will make you psychologically get destroyed from the inside to the bland monotonous strict day to day schedules 😂 This is just environment, the guards, the staff and severity of what you did especially Japanese prisoners will make you life even worse depending how offended they are He has no chance of easy life for the next 3 years😂
Having been to Japan multiple times over, I feel like you really have to TRY to piss people off there (not that I would). I wasn't paying attention and bumped into someone, expecting them to be pissed at me, rightfully so, and was met with nothing but kindness instead. Screw people like this, who give foreigners a bad image.
@superbeanx2233 Johnny Boi ain't helping. Also, try Japanese American Military Bases. The fucking horror stories and complaints from the Japanese Populace almost justifies their hate.
Being generally respectful of foreign customs while abroad is an odd concept to subvert to make a living. Yeah, entitlement and stupidity seems like a good bet.
You know the crazy thing about all of this is that I went to high school with the dude years ago. Had gym class with the guy, but one memory that sticks out for me is how he had food poisoning and crapped his pants in gym class. Of course, I felt bad when all of that happened but seeing all of the videos of him acting like a fool and a complete ass in Japan makes me feel less bad about him getting that food poisoning that day.
@@JSowder21 Oh yes sir it's very much true but what's even wilder to me is how much he has changed, he was very nice guy to talk to but now *shudders*.

I usually don’t comment on TH-cam videos but I’m literally in Japan now as a black man. This makes me apprehensive because Itll suck to have negative stereotypes amongst black people here…and not just black people just foreigners in general.
JohnnySomali is the perfect example to give when someone says, “There is absolutely no justification to respond with [insert many ways to end the sentence here].” He’s one person I really would cheer on to be made an example out of so people are reminded that consequences exist.
if he thinks he can keep this manner in japanese prison system, he has a big surprise waiting for him. they practice some pretty cruel torture methods for unruly recidivists there. and there have been a ton of suspicious deaths in japanese prisons. don't mess with their laws. if you make a mistake and show remorse, they are extremely lenient. they don't tolerate repeat offenders so this dude is sol and getting fubar for sure.
@@andreik2058 yakuza would most likely just spit on him and let the guards have their way. why risk problems when the guards will do it for you? you have to understand, yakuza are old. and i don't mean by tradition. they are getting older on average. improvement of social situations leaves less and less recruits every year for them.
16:18 Spot on. I remember reading that the prosecution there will only send someone to court if they can gather more than enough evidence to convict them. Apparently this has to do with the government wanting to look reliable and infallible, which has the unfortunate side effect of judges feeling pressured to agree on a guilty veredict even if they don't really do. What I hear a lot is: You'll probably never have to worry about going to court, but if you ever do, you're already done for.
Also they much prefer the people they don't like just to get out of the country and never come back... Putting them in prison makes it harder for other prisoners too...
I watch a wide variety of live-streamers. You can tell who are the puppets (people who play any media and do what their chat tells them to do) and who will make it (people with personalities and charm). Though it is always a risk because of callers making up things about you. The streamers are willing to risk it, but I'm sure it fucks up their desire to continue. The fact Ice kept going after that Thailand situation is amazing. I love travel streams. Seeing first-hand other countries and people in them. It's addictive.
I’ve been lucky enough to visit Japan. We were invited by a sweet lady art teacher to play tennis, college students approached me in the bath house to ask about my tattoos and about America, a group of young businessmen took us out drinking, one bar tender took us out to dinner, some young children let me umpire their baseball game. we were shown so much kindness and felt so welcomed. This dude is trash. I hope he gets all 3 years and I hope to go back to Japan soon to spread the open mindedness that my America is known for.
i have to say that the mario coin sound when his face hit the pavement in the original was just perfect. I laughed for a good half hour over that. Oh yeah, He also made a few "apology" streams/videos and the went right back to his BS, which is even more fuel for Japan to use against him, I don't mean the legal system but Japanese Society. This dude made a huge mess of everything and I really hope they stack the charges against him.
The white guy in the restaurant video around 9:35 is a discussion in and of himself. He's a homeless, autistic New Zealander former sheepherder turned "travel TikToker" who ran away from home, was allowed back and was banned from his home instantly because he wouldn't stop streaming, and is genuinely oblivious to the fact that he is a general nuisance and that's why people treat him negatively. He uses his donations from streaming to travel aimlessly from country to country. His name is Turan Spidy and there is a video by the channel Kiwi Tapes that goes deeper into his bsckstory.
From what I learned from a bit of research (I'll freely admit it wasn't a whole lot) part of the reason Japan's conviction rate is so high is because the prosecution will often choose not to press charges unless they believe their case is airtight, so they end up just dropping it. However, this case is pretty airtight because this idiot literally broadcasts his crimes for attention. So unless they're willing to forgive him for an apology, or let him pay off his fines, his chances of conviction are very high should things proceed that far.
It's because authority in Japan is not to be made a fool of as part of their culture. You don't make a fool of your parents, you don't make your boss look bad, you don't make the cops/judges look bad. So if you are in court, chances are you will be guilty regardless just to make sure all the cops/judges involved don't look bad. You have to have evidence so overwhelming that proves your innocent that nobody could every question it to get out of a Japanese prison conviction.
@@Piratederpyou repeated what they said, also if you have airtight evidence that you’re innocent they wouldn’t bring the case against you in the first place, it would be dropped… which is exactly what they said

Fun fact, there’s a human right in Japan called 肖像権 which is the right to privacy. Unlike in America and many parts of the world, you are not allowed to film people without their consent and if the person being filmed wanted to, technically they could sue him.
There was a misconception at the 03:40-ish mark on the racial slur. The Japanese citizen didn't drop the N word, he said "Nigiri" which means "Run" in Japanese. So, the guy was basically telling him to run off to somewhere else. That word was actually a huge problem on some JP Mobile Suit: Gundam servers. It's worth looking into. Long story short, auto-mods were picking up on the word, and mis-translating it through their algorithm. It pretty much caused the death of the game as a whole considering entire teams were getting banned when ambushed, and consequently telling their teammates to run away practically every session the game's servers hosted, which was a few thousand a day easily before base dropped.
Yeah they should make an example of him. Japanese prison is also really rough. Inmates don't even have time to get into fights because their entire stay is strictly regimented with a lot of marching in lines, and speaking is strictly limited.
Fun Fact, my brother, who goes by Nemraps and part of the members from NerdOut! here on TH-cam, was there in one of that dude's stupid altercations in Japan. After Johnny was beat up for his antics, one of the Japanese attackers thought my brother was part of it and almost kicked his food away but he was not. Luckily they didn't pinned my brother with Johnny's stupidity.
Playing the air raid siren in that restaurant is equivalent to playing the Emergency Alert sound in public here in America. Idk if its illegal to play sounds like that in Japan (other than disturbing the peace) but in America, its illegal to play the EAS sound cuz it's basically inciting mass panic. It might be a felony but regardless, it's still illegal
The best comeback from his 3 comebacks of mentioning nuclear incidents was for the japanese people who sniped him mentioning his real name, he hates his real name🤣
Honestly, this guy deserves to be thrown in prison and kicked off every platform he has for his disrespectful behavior. He learned more than once what it means to f around and find out. That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and inexcusable.

I really hope Japan gives him the maximum possible sentence. I hate that it’s become a trend for irl streamers to go to Japan just to fuck with the locals. This is Japan’s chance to put their foot down and say “if you keep this up you’re going to regret it for the rest of your life”

Kick is literally arkham asylum.
It’s because so far for now Kick as a platform is more concerned with getting more people on their platform then their competitors. So they’re not really as thorough with choosing who to have as opposed to other companies

Playing the air raid siren in that restaurant is equivalent to playing the Emergency Alert sound in public here in America. I hate how people treat life like its an game, i really hate youtubers, streamers, or any social media personality that does things like this to regular people who are just trying to get through life.
Like it just gets me so upset.
Idk why but the “this is where he got attacked by the oni alliance” got me so bad
I really hope Japan gives him the maximum possible sentence. I hate that it’s become a trend for irl streamers to go to Japan just to fuck with the locals. This is Japan’s chance to put their foot down and say “if you keep this up you’re going to regret it for the rest of your life”
It's a shame at 10:00 that he can't even play the right national air raid siren.
Lmao, I saw the news yesterday. Oh boy that schadenfreude! Goofmali's being trolled hard by the Japanese legal system. He messed around and found out alright!
If muta brings up yakuza one more time I'm going to have to play the whole series for real. He talks about it more the metal gear and rainbow....it must be FIRE
despite inventing the jrpg japan actually has a very low random encounter rate
This person knows that the most of Japan's government can do is arrest him so can bond out.
He knows if this nuisance happened somewhere else he'll get killed and that's why he's seriously challenging the tolerance of the Citizens of Japan
Japs don't have bonds.
And they have "hostage justice" that means you're locked up until you plead guilty, simple as that.
Now he knows.
And you know it too.
yeap, he truly dont respect japan at all. he is testing around how much he can get away.
sadly he is not the only one in japan doing this... there are worse streamers than him.
Uuuuuh
No worries, Johnny, I bet those Yakuzas at the prison will give you the love and the attention you always wanted
Edit: What do I mean by "attention and love" is not rape.
He did a lot of awful things but he doesn't deserve "that".
mmm yea.. prison seem to pull out the worst in everyone who spend their time there.. and since johnny is a foreigner the guards may turn their back and "patrol" a area at a bad time
Drop the soap John
You guys are wishing rape on a man who trespassed? Your moral grandstanding shows no bounds
@@charliekelly735Fly a kite outta your crack.
Dude's probably gonna get far, far worse things done to him in Prison that would make what happened to Epstein looking like a prank.
@@charliekelly735 They mean the Yakuzas will beat the shit out of him.
8:57 I immediately thought this as this whole shxtshow played and thought "Maaaan... I ain't gonna say it..." but Muda swooped in and delivered my thoughts then and there as they came.
Damn dude. It is very sad that degenerates like this can just dig a deeper hole for others without even knowing.
I will never be able to describe my disgust and hatred for people like this...
Some dude holding a race card as bulletproof vest. Definitely something new.
On one side we have felix kjellberg (PewDiePie) being an ideal citizen with his family there and on the other we have ramsey ismael (johnny somali) showing us what not to do as a tourist in japan!
How can he even have a life for it to be ruined in the 1st place?
