      Heh, in Poland we have a "MMA" freak fight show incoming and the main event is... A 50 yrs old female alcoholic vs 19 yrs old girl. The connection between them is... the older one is a mother of a patostreamer, and the younger one is the patostreamer's ex. :)) It's the new low here, after all the tens of past "MMA" freak fight shows that promoted people on a similar level...

      This is what happens when a corporation has no real competition; they can play bias with their most popular or favoured individuals because their overall revenue generated meets their means.
      If pressured, a slap on the wrist is as far as they'll go. Sadly, that's where we are because other platforms, like Dailymotion, don't hold a candle to TH-cam's dominance. 😫

    Long time expat here in Japan and I loled pretty hard at the "homeless population of near zero" remark.
    I guess the Japanese media are doing a really good job of hiding the countries woes and making the overseas Gaijin believe it's a paradise here 😂
    I love living here obviously, but if you ever strayed from the tourist areas you'd know Japan has problems and shady characters just like any other place.
    You can start with the cases of old people forced to survive on dog/cat food because the pension system here isn't cutting it. Some of them even got intentionally arrested just insure they'd have a steady 3 meals in prison. Anyway, there's quite a lot of homeless people in Tokyo they're just kept out of view as to not upset the rich gaijin tourists' perfect image of Nippon 😅

    • @Eisenwulf666
      @Eisenwulf666 ปีที่แล้ว +67

      Was going to comment something like this. I've been to Tokyo many times and other parts of Japan too. In Tokyo i've seen congregation of homeless people mainly near parks. That's not even so strange in a big city. What shocked me was sonething else. We were poor students at the time, so we stayed in a cheap pension. Three people in a room smaller than my bathroom. But we didn't care. Then we discovered there were people actually living there, not just having a vacation. Just a small room with a bed and nothing else. That was their life. It wasn't great

    • @Lucie-R2R_Happiness
      @Lucie-R2R_Happiness ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think the opposite. A kid wanting to be an influencer isn't bad in itself but what type of context they wish to produce is the question.
      I think realistically the influencer, kid, adult, human, whatever that goes down this route of context garage didn't have any hobbies or personal reasons to begin with. They just seen $$$ or attention and rolled with it.

      My gothenburg psychology give one advice in these cases, "grow a pair" or "grow a backbone". Find your strength and stop build your life based on what unknown and 3rd party people do or say. If you cant change the situation is ok, we are all different but that is my simple advice.
      If one guy steal something in a store, will the store hate every customer that enter the store based on what that single person did?
      I know that there is many AHoles in sweden where i live and they use youtube or similar.. do i have to be afraid that i will be judged based on what those people do?

    I think it's worth noting that Japan doesn't *really* have a homeless population of 0%, rather they passed a bunch of laws (the law against panhandling being included in this) that let them arrest large portions of their homeless, and now the remainder won't admit it. It helps that they don't define homeless just as people without a home, rather people who show up to homeless shelters... which anyone in a country where being homeless is basically illegal isn't going to do.
    You have a lot of people who "live in" various places other than homes - cybercafes are popular, since free to enter, they're usually open 24/7, and many have showers. The Covid-19 pandemic didn't help either, although I guess it *did* decrease their homeless population.
    Say what you will, but personally, I don't consider "throwing most in jail and letting the rest die or go into hiding" to be "solving" a problem.

  • @SoaringEmbers
    @SoaringEmbers ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Hey Mutahar. I just wanted to say that Japan is not the only country that has legal repercussions for begging. You can find articles of fines and jail time being awarded to beggars in Canada (my knowledge revolves around Fredericton, NB). I was part of a documentary in which a friend and I lived homeless for a couple days. We were briefly approached by police and had to explain that it was for a movie but multiple other homeless individuals tipped us off that the police may give us trouble which is solid proof that it is a common occurrence. The homeless in my town/city "perform" to skirt around these rules. Finger painting, baton twirling, busking and really bad dancing are all things I've witnessed here in Fredericton.
    Best course of action to support those begging is to simply ask them what they would like for food or supplies and go buy it for them. If they refuse then that is generally a good indicator that the money they wanted was for drugs or that they were a "fake beggar". After filming we sought out many of the people we met on the street to provide them with food, supplies and we distributed all the money we had received to help them along. Threw in some of our own money too.

    The only thing worth pointing out is this: Japan has a homeless population. Its small relative to other countries, but they still exist, and their treatment by japanese society is actually foul. They are a put into a group called the burakumin, which is literally the Japanese 'untouchables'. They are forced out of public sight by both japanese law and social customs. Its only until very recently, and mostly through lip service, that the Japanese government has made any attempt to end the social injustices that burakumin still face today, and there is no proof that any of the social reforms Japan has rolled out in revent decades has had any tangible benefit for burakumin.
    And for anyone wondering, many older japanese people people consider my people, the Okinawans, to be burakumin, purely based on our location of birth. And the entirety of okinawa suffers because of that association and regard by the government that forcibky annexed okinawa in the first place. The people of okinawa have not gotten ANY of those social reforms. They are for the japanese only, and we arent japanese to them.
