As far as flaking on the first date, I have seen with too many friends, that they get angry or possessive, etc. But having this happen to me and just literally not thinking of it as a big deal at all (and not acting like it isn't, truly 1st date, I don't know you, I don't care) 90% of the time, they are quickly more invested where as with my friends who overreacted, they got ghosted. I know girls who do this (not last minute and with reasonable excuses) specifically to check emotional competency and if a guy reacts. As you have said before, what some mfs will do over a girl, a test like this, although a bit extreme, will weed out many men without emotional control. I get bailing, but especially if done disrespectfully, but cutting her out if done reasonably is just a different method of over investment because just like you owe her nothing because you haven't even had a single date she owes you nothing, and canceling shouldn't bug a confident guy. I always got back up plans you know. But again the level of respect for your time matter in this (excuse, timing, reschedule offer, etc.)
