I’ve been with Alienware going on 2 years now and this is the best AWCC tutorial out. You have explained it so well and to the tee. I have been testing with the offset thermal fan control. I want that top fan to blow that heat out.
Recently purchased an Alienware Aurora 12 with a 3070. Was having issues with the overclocking. THIS VIDEO WAS A GODSEND!!! Great tutorial/breakdown of the ACC. I like the ACC so much now I'm a big fan of Alienware! Thanks for the great work!
What interests me is the lack of discussion around the Alienware command centre's lack of light customization the older version had or of ways to get this functionality back with the new version. The functions I am referring to is the ability to transition from one selected colour to the next and line them up into a customized colour cycle complete with unique light transition effects (the new version appears only to have a limited number of basic pre-set options) Feed back on this would be appreciated.
I recently bought the m15 r7 with the cherry mx keyboard as my first Alienware; needless to say I was highly disappointed with the lack of customization options for everything RGB on it.
This video helps because I bought an R12, Fully maxed. (i9 11900, 3090, 128GB Ram, 2TB SSD, 2TB Mechanical) Highest options. (Mostly because I want the 3090 and can't just buy parts anymore.....) I watched this and your review so I know what's coming... when it finally shows up.
I just got my R11. I noticed your memory speed was lower then mine. What I did was not overclock it in ACC but in the Bios instead. I went in the bios and chose Overclock Option 2 and XMP profile 2 for 3200mhz. ACC now shows 5.0ghz for the cpu and 3200mhz on the memory. If you try it, turn off the overclock first in ACC as it wont let you change the bios if ACC has an overclock on. Thanks for all the video's too.
Do we have the same memory? Alienware sells like 6 different types of RAM, all different speeds. My stock ram speed is 2933, but I am going to be testing some pretty aggressive ram overclocks as I now have a second intake fan blowing directly on the ram sticks. My pleasure man, enjoy your R11.

I made the mistake of the good ol' "lets see what happens" and put all my fans to 100% and thought my pc was going to explode. It scared the SHIT out of me it was so loud
@@kal7844 in main screen in the command center - pick performance in the bottom right and overclock off...it should help. The interface is a mess, really :/ so many buttons with same names, but what is actually going on - no idea 😅 changing the plan is done in main menu...before that it was a nightmare for me - fans were like 25-30% during top games...temps were up to 80...ugh, gladly now everything is under 75

This was all in the first week of getting my computer and no viruses. I have called dell support twice for this because it wouldn’t load. reset my computer TWICE full factory reset and full windows reinstalled and it still doesn’t work so now after being determined faulty and not working I’m sending the computer back and getting another full replacement if that doesn’t work I’m going with a different brand then Alienware. Note I’m not at all saying dell or Alienware is bad but just be careful and it could have problems in the first week like mine did Also dell has handled this situation very well.
I had a lot of problems using ACC on my R10. My memory 3200 14-14-14-34, It would not run at stock settings. I ended up deleting ACC and then using manual timings in the BIO's. Which is confusing because 14h is not cl14 in their bio's it is cl 20. I ending us counting down 6 spots to Ex0 (something like that). and it set to cl 14. The highest voltage on the memory is 1.4v. Also their Cpu overclocking just is not as good as ryzen master in my option. By the time I was underclocking my GPU for mining I had already deleted ACC so I just used the AMD driver to underclock. No resizeable bar, -curve + boost on cpu and low memory voltage. The b550 motherboard Bio's is very cut down. All that considered the price was very good and I am happy with it.
Ive had terrible cpu heat issues with the r13 desktop. I put it on performance on desktop and now it seems to manage well when gaming. Before i was getting 80 to even 90 at times. they where only jumping around that mark but it worried me so i just put up with the noise now. Im not sure what offset means though and the fans dont seem to change to what i want when i try using the curve. I think the software is pants to be honest but thanks for the video and it has helped.
my cpu is overclockable(i7 10700kf) but for some reason acc doesnt allow me to overclock it all it says is overclocking is off edit when i click on overclock it leads me to the fusion section where in no way i can overclock it
Alienware hates me. I bought an R11 and had so many problems I finally just shelved it and built myself a new system, which gives me zero problems. I recently bought a x17R2 That was supposed to be new in the box (open box). It was in the box and the plastic wrap was on it but the fans had quite a bit of lint in them. This laptop crashed from day one and ACC did not work at all. I tried to uninstall ACC and install it but could not uninstall it. The dell forums said this was a problem Dell knew about but had not addressed. So I installed a new M2 drive with a new install of Windows 11, and then a clean install of ACC. ACC appeared to work initially. I set fans on full speed all the time (they really aren't that loud, and OC 01. It was fine for awhile then seemed to run really slow. I checked and it had somehow turned off the OC on its own. Every time I try to do that it will run in OC for a bit then go back to no OC. I have to reboot it repeatedly in the morning to even get it to work. I think I am done with Alienware. I enjoy your presentations though. Very informative.

I could've sworn I ordered a water cooled one but my paper shows air cooled. Hopefully this will help. I also got a good fan ready just in case to change the fan
Does the alienware power profile override the windows power profile settings? My windows power profile setting keeps getting changed back to balanced even though I want it to be set to ultimate performance. It will not stay set to ultimate performance. I set the default power profile in command center to ultimate performance and I manually keep setting my windows power profile to ultimate performance.
I had the same problem, update your drivers, awcc and occ All of those were out of date for me, i was able to overclock cpu, gpu, and ram after through the advanced tab.

@@na0mi0 yeh I got the smiley face screen, eventually got it to restart after it said it disabled overclock as a safety thing. The power limit went above 100 percent when I was testing it, so I dunno maybe that's got something to do with it.
I have the r12 but under fusion I cannot click advanced view for CPU nor memory clock. The enabled button inst on those two niether. And that enabled button is automatically on, greyed out, for the GPU. What gives?

The "Advanced View"-button on the Fusion-tab is only available for the Graphics Card (in the middle) but is not available for the DRAM or the CPU, there is no "Advanced View"-button for those. Why is that?

@@GamerHeavenOfficial Those Audio options you covered in ACC. Also the OC Profiles. I only have the "ADVANCED VIEW" option for GPU and not CPU or MEMORY!
@@terrellwright7565 you should have all the same options 100% outside of the FX tab with the lighting zones on the side alienware letters and the outer ring (as these are not on darkside of the moon)
@@DarthAscension I TOTALLY agree! However, the only OC option I have is for the GPU; under the "FUSION" tab. Under "FUSION" tab I have the OC Profiles, Thermal Profiles and Power Management. I don't have that Audio option. (DARK SIDE OF THE MOON)
The ryzen CPU is overclocked from the factory. It already runs balls to the wall. You'd have to go into the bios. It's been done but literally makes zero difference.
i have an Aurora Ryzen R10 and whenever i turn ON the pre-set overlocking (1 or 2) my computer crash and goes directly to Blue Screen(WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR), i had to deactivate that on the BIOS settings to get back to normal function, i have no idea whats going on, already did full stress test in every hardware, no errors were found, i don't really have idea of what is wrong

I can't figure out how to disable all the extra audio crap. I can see the profiles. I can even create profiles. but, the options i want to disable, the system wont let me. For instance, if I want to disable reverb, the slider will not move. Any idea how to get this audio crap under control? I have an r12.

Fan control is terrible, I have tried setting my curve to 100% and fan speed is still only around 50%. Appears because they use an offset instead of actually setting the fan speed, I can't comprehend why Dell set it up with an offset. I swapped to Thermaltake toughfan 12s high static, and added a fan to make the radiator push pull, but I would still like to turn my fans up higher because they are so quiet to begin with.
I have a problem with my G series G15 Ryzen Edition. Why my command center GPU overview always show 0MHZ ? Previous if i didnt play any game it shows 1702 MHZ all the way. But now is only shown 0MHZ ? The frequency shows 0.0mhz unless I play games the MHz will moves up ! Any solution that i can fixed it?

As dfar as i can tell the fan settings on the r12 dont do anythging. but ive figured if you adjust the offset it adds that % extra to the fan speed.

The overclock option just says OFF and theres no options... I have a 2019 laptop with the RTX 2070

Just slide the slider from auto to manual and pick the games you need jn the library...auto didn't do much for me :/

Can the themes be chosen for video rendering. My main purpose would be for video editing.

hello buddy i have the r15 with 5200 mhz stock is 4800 mhz how do you enable 5200 dell told me that you need to do it from the command center i dont want to use overclock presets just the 5200 mhz xmp can do that without overclocking or do you have to use a overclock preset to get the 5200 mhz xmp

The Alienware Command Center, made the fans a bit loud and sadly been causing some issue so got rid of it.

@@GamerHeavenOfficial Those Audio options you covered in ACC. Also the OC Profiles. I only have the "ADVANCED VIEW" option for GPU and not CPU or MEMORY!
@@terrellwright7565 you should have all the same options 100% outside of the FX tab with the lighting zones on the side alienware letters and the outer ring (as these are not on darkside of the moon)
@@DarthAscension I TOTALLY agree! However, the only OC option I have is for the GPU; under the "FUSION" tab. Under "FUSION" tab I have the OC Profiles, Thermal Profiles and Power Management. I don't have that Audio option. (DARK SIDE OF THE MOON)

The ryzen CPU is overclocked from the factory. It already runs balls to the wall.
You'd have to go into the bios. It's been done but literally makes zero difference.

i have an Aurora Ryzen R10 and whenever i turn ON the pre-set overlocking (1 or 2) my computer crash and goes directly to Blue Screen(WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR), i had to deactivate that on the BIOS settings to get back to normal function, i have no idea whats going on, already did full stress test in every hardware, no errors were found, i don't really have idea of what is wrong

I do not have the option to overclock or edit my cpu or ram settings in ACC. I can edit/overclock my gpu but the other two don't even give me the option. Anyone have a solution?
I can't figure out how to disable all the extra audio crap. I can see the profiles. I can even create profiles. but, the options i want to disable, the system wont let me. For instance, if I want to disable reverb, the slider will not move. Any idea how to get this audio crap under control? I have an r12.

Fan control is terrible, I have tried setting my curve to 100% and fan speed is still only around 50%. Appears because they use an offset instead of actually setting the fan speed, I can't comprehend why Dell set it up with an offset. I swapped to Thermaltake toughfan 12s high static, and added a fan to make the radiator push pull, but I would still like to turn my fans up higher because they are so quiet to begin with.
I have a problem with my G series G15 Ryzen Edition. Why my command center GPU overview always show 0MHZ ? Previous if i didnt play any game it shows 1702 MHZ all the way. But now is only shown 0MHZ ? The frequency shows 0.0mhz unless I play games the MHz will moves up ! Any solution that i can fixed it?
How did you get the overclock for the GPU to work in AWCC? Doesn't seem to work as intended on mine but MSI will overclock my GPU just fine
