some electronic throttle body doesn't move if you don't start your engine, no worries just have someone press and release while you spray the throttle body cleaner, throttle body cleaner also helps clear carbon deposit on your piston so its actually a win win situation just make sure your assistance press the gas pedal at certain rpm to make sure the engine doesn't stall
A prayer for peace. Father God, I often find myself overwhelmed by circumstances that are beyond my control, and I am easily distracted by things that don’t matter. Please forgive me for not consistently placing my trust in You. Even when I am faced with intense situations, You are still with me. You are the Creator of peace, and I can have access to Your peace-filled presence whenever I draw near to You. So instead of silencing Your Holy Spirit when I start to feel anxious or discouraged, help me to make room in my heart and mind to experience the peace You freely give. In Jesus’ name, Amen
Not quite right. You forgot to mention to let all the carb cleaner completely evaporate before re attaching the air hose [ about 30 minutes] so that the high octane cleaner does not trip the O2 sensors and cause a rich/lean code to come up.
If that's the case, then I guess you should leave the butterfly in the open position the whole time for the drying? And of course you can't do that with the cars that require a running engine, however many of those there are.
Thanks! On the question, depends... I won't put or recommend any cleaner without international certification from one of the big automotive engineering authorities e.g. American Society of automotive engineers (SAE), into my car.
This is with the ignition on, correct? Not sure if a scan tool can be used in this instance or whether it's one of those situations where you take care to clean like on drive by cable systems. Still searching for more info around this...
I've done it for years and never had an issues. I do have immense respect for carcare nut, but don't currently see how depressing the pedal with the ignition on will hurt anything. If you have the link to the video where he said it, please share. Thanks.
I agree that the best for this is throttle body cleaner. I was out of stock at the time and needed to do this as part of troubleshooting I was doing at the time.
Thanks for sharing. Just searched and seen it. Recommends spraying on a cloth and then cleaning. Funny thing is I've always done it as in the video and never had issues. That said, I'll make the switch.
I do this procedure every year! Is your throttle body electronic (drive by wire) and how often do you clean yours?
Fantastic tuition! Especially pushing the gas pedal!
Thanks, Barry!
Straight forward instructions. Thank you.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
fantastic instructions , thank you

Thanks for watching 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for this; quiet easy and straight up task.
Yep. Quite straight forward! Happy new year!
@@DIYAutoworksNG happy new year from here.👍
Grwat Simple demonstration. Thanks
You're welcome. Thanks for watching
How do u clean the butterfly if dirty? Can butterfly open & gas pedal pressed while engine is off?
Good question. Depends on the car. For this car, ignition has to be on/engine off with the foot on the gas pedal for the butterfly valve to open.
Thanks good video !!!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a compliment!
Thanks
Thanks Brother.
You're welcome!
Perfect
Thanks!
A prayer for peace.

Yea. I guess it's only normal to know it should dry before firing the car up.
If that's the case, then I guess you should leave the butterfly in the open position the whole time for the drying? And of course you can't do that with the cars that require a running engine, however many of those there are.
Cool.. Please sir.. what do think of the injector cleaner fluid that some petrol stations sell?
Thanks!

Some car don’t open butterfly even if in ignition and gas pedel press ! Mostly in Nissan
What will we do that time ?? Pls reply

Should open if you put gear selector in drive
its better to remove the electronic socket from the the throttle itself as well
It's a bear to remove on this car...
Car nut says ots dangerous to turn in the car and open butterfly this way. Just gently push and clean not hard or fast.

I wouldn't use carb and throttle body cleaner it's not meant for electronic throttle bodies.

Can I use rubbing alcohol (methylated spirit)?
It won't have sufficient cleaning power.
What if the throttle doesn’t open
Yea. Some cars are like that. You may then have to just push it open or command it open with an appropriate scan tool.
Try turning on the key, don't start, and push the accelerater
The service manual literally says not to do this and spray directly into the throttle body 😂👎🏼
