  • You can clean drive by wire throttle body without opening the butterfly valve with the proper cleaning brush. This vehicle experience poor idle and sometimes stalling, I recommend throttle body cleaning and here are the step by step process. NOTE: opening the butterfly valve without unplugging the connector sometimes required calibration.

Thank you very much for your video, very easy to follow. Close views allowed me to understand in details the steps.
However I had a bit of panick right after cleaning the throttle body. First time I tried to start the engine it ran for 2 seconds, then stopped. Next try 1 second. Next try did not run at all.
I found on forums that it is indeed pretty common when cleaning the throttle body. According to the forum, a trick that often works is to floor it and release the pedal once the engine runs. I did it and it worked.
Maybe an improvment for your videos could be a "frequently encountered problem" section at the end. (for dummies like me not to panick 😂)

Mostly after throttle cleaning your engine will experience long crank/rough idle for few seconds. Loved the idea about frequently encountered problems after cleaning. For sure will be added on my next video. Thank you 🙏

    Good Morning!
I am having issues with my wife's 2017 Kia Rio LX so I decided to post on here for any suggestions or helpful tips!
I am no mechanic however I did a ton of research in hopes to get this problem resolved! Here is the story so far....
    2017 Kia Rio LX V4
    Error Code:
    P0445 fixed
    P0442 active
Problem: Stalls at Idle/stop signs after driving for 30+
Once turned off it can take 2-5 minutes of rest until the car successful turns back on
    Replaced:
    Canister Close Valve
    Purge Valve
    Gas Cap
    Crankshaft Sensor
Hypothesis / Things not yet replaced or tested:
    EVAP Vacuum Leak or Clog
    Vent Solenoid
    Charcoal Canister Cracked/ Defective
    Thank you in advance!

Start the engine and let it stall, if you have fuel pressure gauge check for pressure it should be 50 to 70 psi, if pressure is low culprit might be the fuel pump. Seems like PCSV already replace, check PCSV pin tension if pin tension is good suspect possibly short to ground in control circuit. Good luck.

I belive that is a factory thing!

    • @annaboyle4896
      @annaboyle4896 หลายเดือนก่อน

The black ring is most likely carbon deposits that's causing the rough idle. If it is something that comes from factory I would look into it to see if its something that needs to be cleaned or shouldn't be but normally factory ones are completely bare metal.

Hi I saw your video, wondering if the issue is the same. As my RPM will dip to around 500rpm and engine vibration is quite significant when I switch my aircon speed to fan 2.
When I am on aircon speed fan 3 no issue engine not much vibration. Can this be fix by cleaning the throttle body?

when the A/C compressor is on basically your adding more load to the engine then RPM will slightly change, you can clean your throttle plate using this simple step, if the issue still exist start checking your engine mount, Kia release service bulletin few years ago for Kia forte excessive vibration when a/c is on, we replaced alternator pulley to fix the concerned. good luck and thanks for watching.
