    In todays video i will show how to Cleaning o2 sensor without removing it( toyota camry oxygen sensor location) and also if you can remove it which will be easy for most cars but not all of them, this method is for these cars, thats not easy to remove theo2 sensor so im going to show Cleaning o2 sensor without removing it, both of them will be cleaned with carb cleaner
    Oxygen sensor cleaning with carb cleaner is the fastest way to remove that black layer so it reads accurate reading and have better fuel economy
    i will be working on this TOYOTA Camry 2017 and i will do both methods Cleaning o2 sensor without removing it and Cleaning oxygen sensor with carb cleaner out of the engine
    and show the before and after picture as well

    You are brilliant! I performed your procedure on my 2017 Chevrolet Colorado Duramax 4-cylinder diesel engine to fix my Nox sensor deciphered to not be functioning. The dealership wanted to charge me $750 to replace it, but using your exact technique cost me only $11.00 for the spray! Thank you, so much! You saved me a lot of money! My "Check Engine" light is now off after three months. I disconnected the batter after spraying the carb/choke cleaner spray into my master break cylinder's vacuum hose to reset my ECU and when I reconnected the battery and restarted my engine, the "Check Engine" light did not come back on! Bravo, my friend! It worked!

      @@AliMECHI'm pulling a p420 code low cat efficiency do you think this will work to get my engine light to go away? I have a 2012 Honda Civic LX and I wanted to clean the oxygen sensor but I'm afraid to take it out and break it I don't know if it'll clear the code because it's the sensor or it'll clean the cat enough to erase the code. I used cataclean last time and it turned the engine light off this time it didn't work

    Hi Ali. Cleaning o2 sensor was a success. I followed each and every of your steps and it was so easy. Before cleaning, I was getting 14-17 mpg and the computer showed 300 miles to empty. After cleaning, I filled full tank of gas and now the computer showed 448 mile to empty. I'm getting 27 mpg average. However, there is minor problem. I was receiving check engine light and the display instrument showed "Check Vehicle Stability Control System". I ended up disconnecting the battery positive terminal for a couple of minutes and the check engine light went away. I hope it stayed away and won't come back on. Thank you so much for your instruction. You saved me a ton of money when I can do it by myself. Have an awesome day my friend :)

    This might clean your oxygen censor but it will harm your catalytic convertor. I destroyed my catalytic converter when I sprayed a can carburetor cleaner down the carburetor . I was trying to clean my carb in place with out taking it off. A lesson learned the hard way.

    1. you should not use a regular wrench. use an Ox Sensor removal tool OR a flare nut wrench OR a box wrench slipped down over the disconnected wire. once you rounded off the nut part of the Ox Sensor you are in BIG trouble. 2. you have to make sure the carb cleaner says on the can "SENSOR SAFE" or says Throttle Body cleaner. Plain carb cleaner can kill your Ox Sensors

    Professional mechanic here and occasionally I like to watch u tube videos just to see how many do it yourself people try to do stuff and get it completely wrong. In this video wasn't the case he pretty much nailed it but I like to remove the sensors and dip them in berrymans fuel injection cleaner for 30 minutes in a sonic cleaner . why ? because I have one and I use it to clean anything and everything and by dipping it in glass jars of berrymans I can re use the cleaner over and over again . 1 long clean in dirty cleaner to break down the hard stuff then 1 short clean in new cleaner to gets everything looking brand new. No effort just set timer and walk away.

    That oxygen sensor, according to the image, indicates that the mixture is too rich in fuel.
    Cleaning the sensor does not correct the problem.
    The check engine warning light only indicates that the emission level of the engine is not correct and that the lambda factor is not being met.
    On the other hand, zirconium dioxide, the main component of most oxygen sensors, degrades over time.
    Cleaning the outside of the sensor will only allow, in the best of cases, more gases to enter to react with the ceramic that performs the measurement (zirconium dioxide covered by a metallic layer).
    In short, if the check engine light comes on and the oxygen sensor is not degraded by use over time the problem is probably in the injection system.
    If the sensor has a long time of use or miles, change it.

    • @AliMECH
      @AliMECH  2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      Yes that's right, I had one failed fuel injector, after I cleaner all the injectors, I wanted to speed up the process for cleaning all the O2 sensors,
      that's right, O2 sensor not getting dirty unless there is some serious problem

    • @ihrtecnomecanica9420
      @ihrtecnomecanica9420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@Abdullah-hc1cz The best way to tell if an oxygen sensor is out of use is by using an oscilloscope.
      Excessive consumption (up to 15%) can be a sign that the sensor is not working as it should and it is not possible to adjust the fuel consumption to the stoichiometric ratio (14.7 parts of air / 1 part of gasoline).
      However, excess consumption may be due to other factors that indirectly affect the signal sent by the oxygen sensor to the engine control unit, which is what regulates the duration and quantity of fuel injected to try to achieve perfect combustion (stoichiometric ratio):
      - worn spark plugs.
      - permanently open thermostat of the cooling system.
      - faulty engine temperature sensor.
      - Faulty injectors (diesel) or injection solenoid valves (gasoline).
      - defective catalytic converter

      Hey, thanks for the information.
      Quick question, is it reliable to use a Lambda sensor on a two stroke engine? They sell them but I fear the sensor won’t last too long and I will have to be replacing it very often, at the moment I’m using an EGT sensor but it’s a bit vague, It’s almost impossible to know whether the engine is tuned to perfection, Exhaust gas temperature can go from 650 degrees to easily 690 or even 700 and the engine is still performing fine, so maybe a Lambda would be more accurate, of course if the sensor lasts long enough to make it worth while.
      Thanks 🙏

    • @ihrtecnomecanica9420
      @ihrtecnomecanica9420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@p.c.h.6721 Surely perfect for carb tuning, but I don't think an oxygen sensor while running a two-stroke engine will provide very reliable values.
      The exhaust gas flow in these engines is slow and pulsating, which will produce erroneous readings.
      Additionally, combustion in a two-stroke engine is less efficient (the exhaust gas contains a variable amount of unburned oil and gasoline in each cycle), which can also lead to misregistrations and sensor contamination.
      It is also true that the records of an EGT sensor can vary significantly based on heat, humidity and air density, but in two-stroke karts, for example, the EGT is the most widely used.

    really good quality videos and information, can this method work on VW & Audi FSI engines to clean the carbon on the intake valves? I have seen people take out the intake manifold and rotate the cranckshaft to close the intake valves and clean the ports manually one by one, they say it is hard and use a lot of cleaners and zip ties in a an electric drill to remove the carbon from the intake valves.

      Direct injection cars do not have any cleaning of the intake. Thus a coating will build up unless some gas is sprayed on occasion. Toyota does this VW Audi and BMW do not. One spray will not clean it it needs continuous multiple spraying or as you said and thorough cleaning with brushes or walnut shell blast..

    Very good instructional video. Several thousand miles ago my 2003 Camry (currently has 152,000 on it) was displaying a chk. eng. light. Took it to auto zone & the diagnostic scanner indicated a faulty 0xy sensor. Best I remember they had a special tool they loaned me for changing it out. Does there have to be a problem somewhere else in the engine like a bad injector etc. to cause a sensor to mal-function?
