I believe the Resident Evil 1 remake has aged beautifully. Another remake seems highly unnecessary to me. That’s fair enough. I’ve been playing these games since 1996. The technical limitations in the 90s forced the developers to get more creative with their chills and thrills, which made their success really stand out against typical games back then. I doubt any young gamer would go back and honestly enjoy that experience though. That would be like somebody telling me I should love the original Tetris or space invaders because they broke new ground. It ain’t gonna happen
@@CursedWheelieBin - I should clarify, I've only played the RE2 remake from the remakes that have been made. I'm old enough to have played the original RE, infact it's one of the few games I thought was going to be a hit long before it even came out. I played most of the original RE's up until the fifth one. I jumped back into playing them with the RE2 remake. 👍
We need Remake Zero, RE1, Code Veronica, RE5 & RE6!! Then this whole Resident evil series would be absolutely perfect and i could propably say that it would be the greatest game series of all time!!
Cool hopefully they will do a RE3 remake again to and make it just like original RE3 that would be so awesome RE3 original is my favorite Resident Evil and 😢 sad how the RE3 remake came out sucked so bad IDK why they didn't make it like the original 😢
Just make a compilation of the original 1, 2, and 3 RE games. Add achievements, update the controls, and bump the resolutions up (or give us the PC ports if those exist). Add some interviews, behind the scenes (If there was any), and a ton of concept art. I'll be more than happy even with the blocky characters, I'm all for that as a 30th anniversary tribute. In other words, use the Atari 50th Anniversary collection as the perfect template. Deal with making a proper ground up remake of RE1 another time, because I'm sure it'll be a 4-5 year development period if they havent started anything yet. I'm all for another remake for RE1, as long as it can offer the 1st RE remake as a free bonus. Lets not ignore the wonderful efforts those guys already did for the Gamecube. 30 years speak volumes for a proper remake to a game, IF NOT a simple re-release.
RE1 remake needs another remake because it came before RE4 and it would be great for new player to experience the first game in the 3rd person perspective which is the best formula for the franchise
Nah the classic aspect needs to be given some love. I think remaking it again would just fully remove the chances of people ever experiencing & learning to love the style of the first 6 games in the series (Re1 to 3 Nemesis, Code Veronica & the remake of 1 & the Game cube version of 0). I'd rather see a Remake of 2 & 3 where they are given back the fixed camera angle 3rd person. 4s style works for the faster pace games but I feel like its hit or miss for the original games. It worked for 2s remake since the people focused enough on recreating the atmosphere of the game. I hope if they remake RE Code Veronica they do it in the original style or at least have it as an option as well its a more fun experience for them.
I think the fixed camera ship has sailed when it comes to capcom unfortunately. I love the ogs and fixed camera angles but me and you are the minority by far. Capcom is going to cater to the largest audience and more people enjoy the 3rd person perspective.
@@cillianennis9921 here's a relaity check: they won't do fixed camera. It's an outdated gameplay style that inly exieted because of the limitations of the time the games came out. RE's fanbase is now used to 3rd and 1st person cause that's what all games do nowadays. Only a small minority of OG RE purists want fixed camera, meaning they won't make money from the new fans
@@schiffer2386 Yeah I think though it'd be nice to have it as an option. We still have the originals. I just want games in RE1 Remakes style. Fixed Camera aren't really outdated though some games still use them. But in a way Resident Evil killed the fixed Camera with RE4 popularising & basically creating the formula of modern 3rd person games. A kinda Ironic thing. They also originally where going to do the RE2 remake in the original style & I wonder how different peoples attitudes to the style would be if they had kept to that style as the higher graphics game would've likely sold still as RE1 Remake still sells so its not like people won't use the games with it. But I guess the change has been made so much that they won't turn back. I just don't really understand why we'd need a remake of RE1 its like we need to stop remaking games & start making new games. As its getting boring with most of the new games in the series either being a good reimaging, a bad adaptation or a superior version. As I want to see new Resident Evil stories not the stories I've been playing for the last 7 or so years of my life.
@@schiffer2386 First Person and Third Person were already around when Fixed Camera was invented for Resident Evil and weren't obsolete. If the first game is being remade like the remake of 3 was…I’m not interested, but if the same effort is put into it like resident evil 4 remake…I’m all for it.
@@baalhearde4618 Even today, people verbally express that it is passé, but it would be possible on the RE engine, as they already endeavored it when RE 2 Jokemake was in beta. Cutmake?
So Copium. Gotcha. Don't get me wrong, I don't like Resident Evil 4 and every iteration of Resident Evil that came out after it, but I do prefer Resident Evil 2's Gameplay over all else.
Granted, the first remake was great in regards to graphics and voice acting, but the game still followed the original game in terms of how you moved your character, which was the theme for the original RE1, RE2, RE3, Code Veronica: X, and REZero. When RE4 came out, suddenly, players were following a whole different story, playing as 'third person'. When Capcom decided to do remakes, they 'jumped' RE1 and went right to RE2, then RE3 and RE4. There has to be a reason those three games, in third person mode, is successful. Before they can remake 'ANY' other game, they need to remake RE1 and REZero, then move on to Code Vernonica: X.
Re remake holds a high standard as far as how remakes should be made. Its amazing to play is it perfect, no but damm. Is it close especially at the time!!!!
They could have a re- remake finished by fall of next year if they really wanted to. Probably be cut like RE3 remake was though, just to sum up the story
Didn't played the GameCube RE1 Remake (not into replaying games that I already know the story), but I think it's the Perfect One, Modern Enough Graphically but retain its Fix Camera Angle and Tank Control which respects it's Originality and Legacy. Remaking it will be just a cash grab for me.
That sounds like a skill issue.@@ak-nt2tr But I do agree with the fact that it's time to remake all of the old games that did feature Tank Controls, including both Resident Evil: Outbreak[s] & Code Veronica X.
For newer fans who are only into the recent games, would it not make sense to remake RE1 for that new generation of players though? As much as original fans like me enjoy[ed] the atmosphere of fixed camera angles and pre-rendered environments, they were the product of developers being forced to get creative with tech limitations. There’s actually test footage of the RE2 remake trying out fixed cameras but they went ahead with over the shoulder. RE1 remake could work. That’s assuming the developers can still create a claustrophobic, isolated atmosphere with that over-the-shoulder camera, but also balance the gameplay with the threats the player will face. What bothers me is the sheer volume of entitled brats who comment these lists about their selfish wants, without contributing any creative ideas about how to realistically approach the actual gameplay experience. It’s all “I want this, we need this….long list”. Sorry, side rant there.
I’ve been on the “Remake CV” train as much as anybody. Lots of people are expecting RE5 next. But…I do believe if a RE9 is up next, then a RE1 remake SHOULD be next for the 30th. Imo, pairing it with RE0 is also the way to go, though people sometimes argue its too big. (Id bet a small wager that RE4+ Separate Ways is still bigger than RE0+1, especially considering mansion similarities…but its also been a minute since Ive played em all. They could release 1,0,CV like they released 2,3,4. Hell, I’ll go waaaaay crazy fan here…if they released a RE1 remake with DLC *original* Outbreak1&2 with updated online features…would break the internet 🤣 No effort, easy money…OG fans would be saluting Capcom HARD!) Leon is well established with fans. Claire made an impact with RE2 remake, Jill possibly with RE3r. IMO, if they proceed with RE5r now…they’ve basically left the other 3 games in the dust. The storyline is worth going back and doing it right…0,1,CV,5,6. Doing it now would *make* those characters and plotlines important. (Chris, Jill, Wesker, mansion) Not doing so would make future rereleases feel unnecessary to newer fans I would think, and overdue to older fans. If they leave 4+Separate Ways on the cliffhanger, double back for the others and work towards 5-> 🔥🏆💵 imo.
I feel like we need a resident evil remake that gets rid of the tank controls or makes it an option to get rid of it im fine with tank controls but my friend is autistic and can’t get used to the tank controls and finds them frustrating and to this day he hasn’t beat re1 0 or code Veronica because he can’t use the tank controls
Are they literally crazy remaking again re1? We've seen remaster or re1 not in 3rd person but still it has been seen They should work on New projects or new remakes
I love RE1 and its remake, and would love for it to get another remake in the 3rd-person perspective, but not now. RE1R holds up perfectly today in every way possible. Its weakest element is actually the fixed camera angles, because they made the tank controls much better since the game first came out (it can still be a little jarring at times though). But even so, the game absolutely doesn’t need another remake right now because Resident Evil Code: Veronica needs to be remade first. Code: Veronica DESPERATELY needs a remake. It was remastered for the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it was never remastered or rereleased on newer consoles since then, and it shows. I 100%ed it 2 years ago (fuck, getting the Infinite Rocket Launcher was a bitch), but the game is outdated in every category except sound, although I bet even that could be improved upon with today’s technology. Capcom really needs to show it some love and remake it next, before RE1, RE0, or RE5. Also, your idea about them remaking RE1 and RE0 and packaging them together and calling it Origins is a little late. Capcom did that 7 years ago, with the only difference being it has RE1R and RE0, not their 3rd-person remakes. Not sure if you already knew about this and were suggesting they do the same exact thing, including naming it Origins, but the way you talk about it like it was your own idea is a little weird, and 7 years behind Capcom. Also, them naming it Origins would really be confusing since it would compete with the other Origins and affect the sales of the newer Origins because people bought the wrong one. Capcom would have to give it a different name, or pull the original Origins package from all markets so it didn’t hurt the sales from the 3rd-person Origins. The fact that I have to refer to it as “3rd-person Origins” is already an indication of how confusing your idea is.
@@White927 If you’re gonna correct me, at least be factually correct in what you say. Code: Veronica X (Xbox 360) and Code: Veronica X HD (PS3) are the remastered versions. I meant that they haven’t been remastered or rereleased since for the newer consoles.
Your point about origins is invalid as soon as you look at the recent remakes, RE4’s “remake” is already referred to as RE4 (2023) so calling it RE Origins (2026) or something along those lines isn’t too far fetched .
They need to remake Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil [Remake], Resident Evil: Outbreak & Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2 [but make them into one whole game since they're officially canon and a part of the timeline.], Resident Evil: Survivor [Because it takes place on Sheena Island.] Resident Evil: Code Veronica X & Umbrella Chronicles [Not the point and shoot version, but actually turn Jill, Chris & Wesker's raid into Umbrella a fully-fledged game. Save Wesker's Resident Evil 0 & 1 Remake Segments from Umbrella Chronicles for Resident Evil 0 Remake & Resident Evil RERemake and save Ada's Segment after surviving NEST and escaping Raccoon City for Resident Evil: Outbreak Remake as "9th Survivor" bonus DLC. Maybe put Operation Raccoon City into Outbreak Remake as Bonus Content as well, but the main focus is on HUNK, GHOST & Alpha Team before, during and after the NEST Raid, then maybe focus on the U.S.S. and U.B.C.S. as a whole during the Viral Outbreak of Raccoon City.
Sorry pal but all I see there is a childish list of wants. Even letters to Santa Claus at least state the case as to why little Timmy should get nice presents. WHY should a remake be put into production? HOW should it actually play? It is a game remember. Not a movie.
I have a better idea.@@solidmage1720 I was thinking that because File #3 never got to shine [Due to it ending up becoming cut content within the files of File #2.], why not put all 10 of the base Scenarios surrounding the original 8 Characters into File #1 and then save Dylan, JJ, Gary, etc for File #2? As far as I know, there weren't 8 Characters specified for File #3 except Gary and some chick and it takes place somewhere in Raccoon City. I don't remember where, though. Also Raccoon City is extremely big. The map of the city in Resident Evil 3 remake doesn't truly come close to sketching out how big the city actually is in world-wise and that would make File #3 put into File #2 a golden opportunity, more than that, though, it's a golden opportunity to even flesh out more of File #1. A lot of development time would be needed, but each scenario can actually be played longer than the original scenarios this time around and with enough world & story-building, this could potentially happen. It would also be a great time to bring back the old VA crew for the File #1 Characters.
I don't want to see the games remade in the style of RE2 & RE3 remake. I think we kinda need a remaster of the original games. RE2 & RE3 Nemesis kinda need a more faithful remake to the original style. I think people dismiss the amazingly well crafted style of the originals as they are perfectly designed for their gameplay & so a Remake of them that basically keeps what was & adds more. Like with RE2 classic style Remake you could maybe have a few more police survivors like in RE2 Remake & then maybe well its kinda perfect as it is. It didn't need anything really added to it & still holds up for the most part unlike the Remakes story when you think about most lines like Leon takes being a cop a bit too seriously instead of him being a guy who wants to help people survive he keeps to police protocol in the middle of a Zombie apocalypse letting ben die. Unlike the original where ben trapped himself in there to be safe & died when we where away due to something finding him making Leon blame himself & feel like it was his fault (with a bit of better acting & some better lines this would've worked better). I do like RE2 remake I just don't like its odd story changes. Like they just add a bunch of plot holes remove depth from characters making a few cardboard cut outs & they kinda remove the subtlety of Ada being a secret agent. Due to her basically having the worst cover ever for her cover story (I am from the FBI & I defiantly am not a spy trying to find out stuff about the G-virus compared to I am a woman looking for her husband who works for Umbrella working as a good excuse for her hunting down the G-virus) & instead of it being shown by gameplay such as Ada having the fastest fire rate of anyone you play as. Her odd combat know how & agility all kinda point to her being something more & when Annette blames her for being a spy she kinda has an excuse to doubt her. We Also have Annette being made a woman too busy for her work to ever care for her family instead of a woman whose work & family are so intertwined that she wants to defend her husbands & her own legacy (in two ways their daughter & the G-virus) making her very much in-depth with her being a bad mother as she focused so much on her work to give a legacy for her & her husband she neglected her daughter & she realised she failed & caused the disaster for basically ignoring daughter. Also Claire just what's up with her in the remake & why does Leon take the police car in the original it was to get Claire a gun but in the remake he just leaves his jeep for no reason. There is a bunch more but I think you get what I mean. The remake excelled at using its new style effectively & creating a perfect atmosphere & so most people over look the plot holes & problematic characters as the gameplay immerses you so well you kinda ignore the problems. Unlike RE3 Remake where its changes are so drastic that it removes Nemesis. I like the Mercenaries stuff but I feel like they need more time & needed Nemesis to be added right. If they remade it again I'd add most of the start from the original game but maybe explain why Marvin got bite like in the Remake but instead of brad as he'd just have been penetrated by Nemesis he'd be attacked by another named cop we hear about in the notes adding to his you know fate in RE2. Then I'd continue the same way with RE3 but have the Russian guy Michael (I know its not how its spelt but I am lazy), be awake for the majority of the time like in the remake. then we'd have the clock tower with all its puzzles & then the fight against Nemesis leading to his second phase from the original. Then we'd have the Carlos part with Tyrell. Tyrell could be there from the start as well. When we reach the hospital it'll remain larger & have you & Tyrell doing stuff & end with Tyrell being betrayed by Nicolai in some way similar to the original on the 4th floor where he blows himself up & maybe have him do it to stop Nicolai destroying the Vaccine or something. Then we'd keep some of the Bard stuff & all. before we have Jill do the parts from the original, the gravedigger fight & meeting Nicolai there before we reach the final part which is the old factory having it look all rusty & destroyed. We basically continue through all the events of the original from this point on. Also the live selection & randomiser should be on. Also would like to see a Remake of Code Veronica in that style as well. Also I kinda consider 0 to be a remake of 0 as we never got its original N64 version & know nothing really about its story.
I know...some person is going to bring hateful to me bacause what i am going to say: No, if i was in charge i will not touch the resident evil 1 and remake again bacause a remake already exist and is perfect.

They need a BIG Open world RE, that obviously should take place in Racoon City
They could have an open world with an Outbreak remake.

I'd rather have re-remakes of Resident Evil 2 & 3 with the traditional fixed camera angles. So thanks Capcom. But no thanks.
I've only played the RE2 remake, if a RE1 remake was anything like that I'd definitely buy it.
I doubt that Capcom would do all the remake they did and then go BACK to 1. More than likely it will be a code Veronica remaster .
It should be a remake, not a remaster. A remaster is just a shiny port.
We need Remake Zero, RE1, Code Veronica, RE5 & RE6!! Then this whole Resident evil series would be absolutely perfect and i could propably say that it would be the greatest game series of all time!!
The Mansion Incident was great play especially for the Game Cube
Cool hopefully they will do a RE3 remake again to and make it just like original RE3 that would be so awesome RE3 original is my favorite Resident Evil and 😢 sad how the RE3 remake came out sucked so bad IDK why they didn't make it like the original 😢
RE1 remake for 30th anniversary woukd be great.
@@schiffer2386
First Person and Third Person were already around when Fixed Camera was invented for Resident Evil and weren't obsolete.
There is a possibility on the RE engine to bring back that option.
Exorbitant action horror fans like you detest the survival horror that the first part brought and you have no conception about those "purist" fans when you verbalize about them, they optate to relish the series as the series went afore Call of Evil 4 and it's not about the perspective at all.
maybe in the re5 remake Chris will use kicks on the Boulder instead of punching it
If the first game is being remade like the remake of 3 was…I’m not interested, but if the same effort is put into it like resident evil 4 remake…I’m all for it.
They call the gamecube version a "Remake", but it's a remaster and you can't change my mind on that

So Copium. Gotcha. Don't get me wrong, I don't like Resident Evil 4 and every iteration of Resident Evil that came out after it, but I do prefer Resident Evil 2's Gameplay over all else.
They should expand on another untold story, it's the mansion, under Barry/Rebecca's perspective
Capcom currently working 2 resident evil project but no idea remake or 9th game
Capcom easy money, remake 1 again, code verónica, dino crisis, outbreak file 1&2
Re remake holds a high standard as far as how remakes should be made. Its amazing to play is it perfect, no but damm. Is it close especially at the time!!!!
The only thing I would change is I would give it a map system like silent hill 2’s. That would literally make the game perfect imo

They could have a re- remake finished by fall of next year if they really wanted to. Probably be cut like RE3 remake was though, just to sum up the story
A slap dash approach eh?
RE has 3 amazing remakes but you’re caught up on the 1 lack luster remake they did 🤷🏻♂️
I mean what are they just gonna work on like four RE games at once?
Didn't played the GameCube RE1 Remake (not into replaying games that I already know the story), but I think it's the Perfect One, Modern Enough Graphically but retain its Fix Camera Angle and Tank Control which respects it's Originality and Legacy. Remaking it will be just a cash grab for me.
keeping the tank controls earns it the remaster brand.
I can't stand the tank controls.
First we need a Dino Crisis Remake
Nobody cares about that shit
@@CursedWheelieBin People would buy that who never played the original including me
I’ve been on the “Remake CV” train as much as anybody. Hell, I’ll go waaaaay crazy fan here…if they released a RE1 remake with DLC *original* Outbreak1&2 with updated online features…would break the internet 🤣 No effort, easy money…OG fans would be saluting Capcom HARD!)
Leon is well established with fans.
That was painful to read😑.
Are they literally crazy remaking again re1?
We've seen remaster or re1 not in 3rd person but still it has been seen
They should work on New projects or new remakes
Resident Evil Code Veronica was a remaster for Xbox 360/PS3.
@@White927 If you’re gonna correct me, at least be factually correct in what you say. Code: Veronica X (Xbox 360) and Code: Veronica X HD (PS3) are the remastered versions.

@@CursedWheelieBin Tell someone who gives a shit.
You should give the game a try. It's pretty fun on PCSX2, especially Online.@@solidmage1720
