18:03 - GMan complains dogs don't briefly retreat after you kill them like they did in the old games, accompanied by footage showing... One dog doing exactly that... Just for a tight timeframe. I smell skill issue throughout this review with the difficulty complaints.
what gets me is the fact they make you feel like your putting down a family pet because they all whine as they die that shit boils my god forsaken blood in video games considering i love my pets most people do its a dick move im genuinely agressive about this
@@WileyCatOFFICIAL Fits the dark nature of the stalker games also...what dog wouldn't whine when you, ya know, shoot it? I get that its hard to hear those sounds, Im the same way but Stalker is a dark franchise so it fits perfectly.
I noticed that as well. Like you can clearly see the dogs starting to run away. Some enemies do look like they might be a bit bullet spongey, like a couple of shotgun blasts to the face should probably be enough for most enemies. I'm also hoping that artifacts are more powerful than Gman suggests - I can't say I ever really bothered with them too much in previous games - actually the only one that comes to mind is the one that Gman highlighted, probably because it was just the most useful one. In a game where fast travel is rare, hopefully there is an artifact that does just let me run like Superhans running to Windsor.
@@WileyCatOFFICIALWhat kind of a pansy are you. You’re upset about fictional dogs being fictionally killed in a fictional warzone…. Grow a damn pair dude
Since it's a UE game just wait until the patches come. For every patch the game will have to rewrite that 160 GB game size every time regardless the size of the patch.
Shame that they made the artificats lackluster. My main gripe with vast majority of Stalker mods has been that the artifacts are useless garbage you just sell. You never want to use them. I want to go through hard areas filled with hard enemies and monsters and a hard anomaly to find something crazy good that changes how I play. That is rewarding. It's not rewarding to find a shiny rock you sell for 5 dollars.
The is the main function of artifacts post clear sky, geez, even in the lore they said the stalkers hunt them to profit, the buff that it can can provide is just a bonus.
Honestly I wouldnt be shocked if some of these issue stem from them trying to at least make the game playable for modern audiences, but also probably a lack of being able to get proper QA. EDIT: or also the fact its UE5, UE5 is kinda hot ass lmao
How shocking that they would try to appeal to a wider audience to actually sell the game, not just the handful of idiots who think they're all the devs need from a game franchise that EPICALLY BOMBED
actually ue5 is very very good you just have to understand what your doing with it you can do quite alot and have it run fairly well to very well this seems like they really just had no experience with the engine and this is their first time using it alot of devs are making ue5 look like shit because its so easy to use anyone can throw a game together but they dont put the effort in to smooth it out and go deep into it it has the whole feature set an entire toolbox and a good base to stand on devs just cant fucking use it properly but indie devs have been kicking absolute ass with it lately
Im actually really stoked that they didn't cater to the masses and made a game for fans of the original trilogy. Thats fucking incredible in this day and age. Yeah it's oldfashioned, probably annoying and clunky in some ways but god damnit i love it
Review spends the entire video saying it's nothing like the old stalkers and a lot worse. Guy in comments: "This is what i wanted. Old stalker with updated graphics"
Just started playing at launch at 11:00 EST on Series X. Definitely a great game so far. At this point you’re the only reviewer I follow, from back when your videos sounded like you were recording them in a bathroom to the professional level content you make now with your hilarious snips of comedy you’re still my favorite Aussie man.
Lol, love the Bethesda skit in the intro By the way, this is the first unbiased review of this game that I have seen, others clearly close their eyes and frantically repeat 'Play the game'
Or use the war as the excuse for the bloody bugs of this game when the Devs have moved studios to Prague a week before the invasion. Some people here are talking as if there studio is in the frontlines inside Donbass.
@pilotmanpaul goddamn dude, give it a rest. no one thinks bombs were dropping directly on their studio. the invasion still impacts their families, their funding, and whether they'll be able to return to their homes. i've seen you reply to every single comment with this. no one cares, you're screaming into the void.
@@pilotmanpaul so for you lots game should be military simulation like Anomaly or Gamma rather than environment + story stelling more than gameplay? Idk man even back in the day guns and shooting arent the strong aspect of Stalker game lol
I mean I think his point was that the shooting feels too clean for a stalker game, and that the player is the only one who feels the worst of the guns negative traits, not the npcs
14:25 Yeah, that's kind of how we all played the previous STALKER games with the mods and liked it. Only problem was that it sometimes broke the game the NPCs killed other important NPCs
English subtitles by default is because a lot of people play it with original language for immersion reasons. PS with a shit artifact detector you will only find trash artifacts. Also it depends on the time of the day! haunt artifacts between 00_5 am ingame time that's your time for high tier artifacts.
I feel like some balancing is in order for some of the systems in this game but I'm still getting it as soon as I get home. The point that stands out to me is NPCs being able to shoot their broken-ass guns and never have it jam while you jam all the time (with degraded guns), I'd be happy if they balance that in the future.
The cateroid artery is more bleedier so it would be more brighter and more better if it wasn’t more harder to stop it being more bleedier. Gman, you can almost use the English language, bro. You’re so close.
Tbh, i was expecting something similar to metro exodus where you had to be careful about how you go against different situations That would work sooooo well for stalker 2
I give it a go, I managed to play cyberpunk on day 1 and besides all the crashes and bugs I still liked it. If I can tell that the game beneath all the technical issues is lackluster I will stop, that why I like game pass. Still having to download 160 gb at launch day is horrendous and should've been avoided by providing a pre load, but yeah I get it why they didn't do it, pushing a 135gb update in betweem makes a preload pointless
I find weird when games for realism in a lot of gun aspects (like customization, ammo weight, jamming, etc) but still use reload by total number of bullets instead of actual magazines reload. It really breaks that realism.
@@minisithunknown5568 You missed the point. The game aims for realism in many aspects, but left aside a simple but effect realism effect. edit: on the same note, it's not only for sim games, for example, Helldivers 2 uses that to great effect, Insurgency, Ready or Not, etc.
Tbh I've never thought Stalker is considered to be a sim game. Yes I suppose it aims for more than usual shooters, but let's face it, like the character is an absolute junkie injecting himself with like litres of morphine whatever and would look like haybale after all those bandages and couldn't even move. But I get your point. I suppose it could be nice feature in options to disable it (btw are you sure it's not in like visual options or something?). Anyway that kinda style to me is way to go in titles like mentione Arma. There these things really shine. Though also can be real pain in the ass to get shot by some really long distance target and be dead in second :)
That the enemies do not have malfunctions with their weapons is a missed opportunity for some really cool moments and tactics. Just imagine how they scream that their weapon is not working and someone else has to give them cover. Last of Us 2 did a great job giving you similar moments while fighting. I waited si long, I can wait another year that the game is less buggy and has more immersion thanks to mods.
STALKER game is a STALKER game. Not exactly sorry for saying that if anyone is bugged by that, they're not the target audience. I'm all for having games that are accessible, but it's refreshing to see nearly anything that's designed for a specific type of weirdo. Talking as one of those weirdos, I've got to wait for some patches and sales before getting my hands on this.
I agree with the thing on fast travel People keep glazing old RPGs that didn't have it, but fail to realize those maps were the size of a shoebox next to what we have today I don't need open world games to be like Skyrim, take a lap around the map and congratulations, you never need to explore again, but at the same time, don't force me to cross the more brutal stretches more than once Walking on a straight line for ten minutes isn't fun, especially when there's no distraction on the way
Tbh a lot of your criticisms are why i absolutely adore the Misery mod for CoP lol. I mean i'm not a masochist, but it wouldn't feel as good to finally earn and maintain good gear if you wouldn't have to work for it, yknow?
Just waiting for some mods. More powerful artifacts, infinite stamina and weight capacity, oldschool bloodsuckers, fast travel, etc. Then I'll be ready, so excited to dip into this world again.
God damn man, you've really included the best movie bits for those nasty ingame situation. Both Homelander's as well as Rick Grimes'es expressions did fit like a glove :D. EDIT: Do wonder if they will even include coop, even if for just 2 people. Could help somewhat with those long traversal parts of the game.
I actually like that the UI and inventory is the same as before, this is a Stalker sequel! And yes, the same sound effects too, awesome! All this fits the depressing atmosphere of the game, I'm already looking forward to sitting in the dark by the campfire with Slavic guitar chords playing next to me.
Looking forward to playing this game, but the amount of people excusing bugs and shitty launches is why we get crappy game launches. "Oh the previous ones were buggy too!" Okay cool, they haven't improved I guess.
Playing and being part of the Stalker culture, and hearing this game is pretty much the same game with same bugs since 2007 makes me happy and nostalgic. Then I see new animations and my brain does a backflip in my skull because I'm not used to see new animations. Edit: *2/3 in the video* Ehhh, maybe I'll wait a bit.
As someone who did, I expected better. The Devs did not make this game with Kalibr Cruise missiles flying overhead. A week before the main invasion, they were already sitting in a cushy office in Czechlovakia. This game aside from the story offers me nothing that Anomaly or Gamma hadn't already done.
@@milosennett4184 uh what? If you want to play the real Stalker experience then CoC is the most sandbox approach of OG Stalker lol. Gamma, Anomally, EFP are all taking way too much realism aspect into the game 😂

18:03 - GMan complains dogs don't briefly retreat after you kill them like they did in the old games, accompanied by footage showing... One dog doing exactly that... Just for a tight timeframe.
I smell skill issue throughout this review with the difficulty complaints.
what gets me is the fact they make you feel like your putting down a family pet because they all whine as they die
that shit boils my god forsaken blood in video games considering i love my pets most people do
its a dick move im genuinely agressive about this
@@WileyCatOFFICIAL Fits the dark nature of the stalker games also...what dog wouldn't whine when you, ya know, shoot it?

Unreal 5
Since it's a UE game just wait until the patches come. For every patch the game will have to rewrite that 160 GB game size every time regardless the size of the patch.
@@abstr4cted496 thats quite unreal...........high five
I mean this sounds like PEAK voice acting compared to "Chernobylite"
Shame that they made the artificats lackluster. My main gripe with vast majority of Stalker mods has been that the artifacts are useless garbage you just sell. You never want to use them.
I want to go through hard areas filled with hard enemies and monsters and a hard anomaly to find something crazy good that changes how I play. That is rewarding. It's not rewarding to find a shiny rock you sell for 5 dollars.
The is the main function of artifacts post clear sky, geez, even in the lore they said the stalkers hunt them to profit, the buff that it can can provide is just a bonus.
You have no clue what artifacts were for do you… (hint: it’s for profit)
Honestly I wouldnt be shocked if some of these issue stem from them trying to at least make the game playable for modern audiences, but also probably a lack of being able to get proper QA.
EDIT: or also the fact its UE5, UE5 is kinda hot ass lmao
How shocking that they would try to appeal to a wider audience to actually sell the game, not just the handful of idiots who think they're all the devs need from a game franchise that EPICALLY BOMBED
@@lutherheggs451most modded game in existence, even new Vegas was said to be a terrible game when it first came out.
actually ue5 is very very good
you just have to understand what your doing with it
you can do quite alot and have it run fairly well to very well this seems like they really just had no experience with the engine and this is their first time using it
alot of devs are making ue5 look like shit because its so easy to use anyone can throw a game together but they dont put the effort in to smooth it out and go deep into it
it has the whole feature set an entire toolbox and a good base to stand on devs just cant fucking use it properly but indie devs have been kicking absolute ass with it lately

What's up the smoke of blood every time you shoot someone?
its the pink mist. Actually happens with certain calibers
"Perceived lack of skill" yeah... I'm sure we're imagining it and there isn't a ton of video evidence lol.
This game is a modders paradise
very glad that you can turn off the crosshair, that was literally one of my top hopes
Im actually really stoked that they didn't cater to the masses and made a game for fans of the original trilogy. Thats fucking incredible in this day and age. Yeah it's oldfashioned, probably annoying and clunky in some ways but god damnit i love it
Buggy? Laborious? Cruel? Sometimes unfair?
WE'RE BACK BOYS!!! A PROPER STALKER GAME!
This is what I wanted. Old stalker with updated graphics and an easier time getting it to bloody run
Just get Anomaly and its free too with loads of awesome mods that can practically turn it into STALKER 2.
Review spends the entire video saying it's nothing like the old stalkers and a lot worse. Guy in comments: "This is what i wanted. Old stalker with updated graphics"
@@spehsdandy1507 the hell you mean? Dude literally says fans of the old game will like it new fans won’t.
@@pilotmanpaul youre right, but id like to still get this game. Especially since its nowhere near as bad as the other games that have been coming out.
this guys complaints were him just explaining that the game is a survival game lol
Lol, love the Bethesda skit in the intro
By the way, this is the first unbiased review of this game that I have seen, others clearly close their eyes and frantically repeat 'Play the game'
It really wouldn't be S.T.A.L.K.E.R. without that trademark Eurojank.

fair
literally the only comment ive replied just a fair to i cant say anything else on that your just 100% correct
2:00 :"The Zone contains potassium benzoate"
thats bad
mods shouldn't be what saves the game, thanks for being honest and saying its overall not worth the $60
Not worth it at this time*
Exactly this. Aside from a story. It doesn't really offer me anything new that I haven't already experienced in Clear Sky or Anomaly or Gamma.
@@pilotmanpaul so for you lots game should be military simulation like Anomaly or Gamma rather than environment + story stelling more than gameplay? Idk man even back in the day guns and shooting arent the strong aspect of Stalker game lol
Complaining that the guns are actually behaving like real guns is wild to me
I mean I think his point was that the shooting feels too clean for a stalker game, and that the player is the only one who feels the worst of the guns negative traits, not the npcs
When you cant distinguish easy new and old game footage, it says things how good old one was.
1:59 thats an anomaly
i was expecting to see a funny bug instead nah dude it for real is just an anomaly lol.
I’ll stick with modded Stalker Anomaly. I have fps issues with a RX 6800XT and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
23:18 For the metal ones - that's actually how Soviet ladders were often painted IRL. Wooden ones... Probably the unironic yellow paint crap
The AI is the perfect point for the "games are evolving, just backwards" argument.
I can't believe it's out.
14:25 Yeah, that's kind of how we all played the previous STALKER games with the mods and liked it. Only problem was that it sometimes broke the game the NPCs killed other important NPCs
i am the gayest person in the whole universe
"My condolences 😔✊" - the straight gang
I disagree. You will have to fight me for that title.
Oh, hello Senator Graham. Funny meeting you here!
So you're extremely happy?
More like Lucass
all these "reviews" yet they should be called first impressions... especially because they are on a pre release build.
So if I enjoyed past Stalker games, will I enjoy this? Dont need a new to series consideration personally
The cateroid artery is more bleedier so it would be more brighter and more better if it wasn’t more harder to stop it being more bleedier. Gman, you can almost use the English language, bro. You’re so close.
remember stalker: its not a bug or glitch, its a anomaly!
Tbh, i was expecting something similar to metro exodus where you had to be careful about how you go against different situations
That would work sooooo well for stalker 2
Stalker is not a sim. Go play Arma which advertises itself as a sim game.
Some one gon mod it anyways
@@minisithunknown5568 You missed the point. The game aims for realism in many aspects, but left aside a simple but effect realism effect.
edit: on the same note, it's not only for sim games, for example, Helldivers 2 uses that to great effect, Insurgency, Ready or Not, etc.
Stalker Anomally has a magazine mod and its tedious af. You need to open the inventory and load all magazines before adding them to your loadout
Thanks for being awesome as always GmanLives ❤😊
Suddenly every fps youtuber uploads a stalker video
This entire video is just a half hour of someone projecting their skill issue onto their entire audience
Just like the other stalker games LMAO
slavjank was cute in 2010. but 2010 was 14 years ago...
Imagine playing new games on day 1 in 2024. You’re just asking for bugs and glitches.
look when i see this, its just Skyrim with guns and people spouting magical words.
Fast travel from anywhere would ruin the game. Vehicles with anomalies would be a nightmare to develop.
Well... Looks like I'm taking my lunch break in the bathroom I guess...
The game being broken is 2024 excuse is more valid now than any other time tbh. What game isn’t broken now a days.
"GmanLives speedruns getting on Mirotvorec's hit list for not loving STALKER 2" - the video.
I agree with the thing on fast travel
People keep glazing old RPGs that didn't have it, but fail to realize those maps were the size of a shoebox next to what we have today
I don't need open world games to be like Skyrim, take a lap around the map and congratulations, you never need to explore again, but at the same time, don't force me to cross the more brutal stretches more than once
Walking on a straight line for ten minutes isn't fun, especially when there's no distraction on the way
Tbh a lot of your criticisms are why i absolutely adore the Misery mod for CoP lol.
The bloodsuckers in the basement scene made me die laughing. I cant wait to play😅
“STALKER 2 has bugs and glitches”
So they kept what made the game perfect I see
I have been waiting so long, and this looks like exactly what I was waiting for. Thanks GSC for staying faithful to the series.
Hey Gman, good to see you, you know you know. Thanks man.
This review feels like you never played the old stalkers.
@@pilotmanpaul Gamma tard.

@@milosennett4184 uh what? If you want to play the real Stalker experience then CoC is the most sandbox approach of OG Stalker lol. Gamma, Anomally, EFP are all taking way too much realism aspect into the game 😂
Question that made me smurk, so you dont want your bullets to land where you intend to? 😅 sure the enemy aim is more precisely then too, but that makes difficulty. I love the feeling of stalker. Not like fallout where you are just indestructible. Carefully planing your next steps and constant struggle is what i need, what makes me satisfied at the end of a compound or camp. 😅
