I know I'm late to the party, but this video is seriously special. The story towards the end about you being sick as a kid, and the little home movies really made it for me lol. It really reminds me of how important media can be growing up, and how the connections we make with these characters and franchises can feel so personal.

Phenomenal video, dude! I have the full set in their boxes. Not because I want to sell them, but because they look cool in the box with the art. I had most if not all of them growing up, and they got so much playtime. It was really touching to hear how the series got you through those tough times you experienced as a kid. Resident Evil was also my outlet for hard times I went through in my childhood. The series remains my favorite to this day.
Much respect to everybody for taking the timeout to watch the video. I work tonight and date to get this one finished, and when I wanted to make for a long time now. Really glad so many of you can relate to the stories in this, that there is one question that I need to ask from everyone. When you hear that old PlayStation builder was the first game you think of personally?!
I was born in 99 I never had a playstation. But I do love watching videos about resident evil. I would like to get a playstation and these old games, I just don't know if I'm to old to at this point. But I have seen other women here on TH-cam playing so maybe I can. Also your really handsome. Best wishes to you and yours.
@Helluvabossfan117 the first one looks good. But 2-3 did to much changes with story and characters that really upset me. So for me I'd rather get the old ones. Just to have for fun I wouldn't play all the time .
HOLY RATS IN RACCOON CITY! the amount of effort that you placed into this video is honestly amazing because the lighting, showcasing of the figures and your own personal stories all add up to make this genuinely enjoyable experience and a perfect documentary!
Incredible video essay dude, incredible amount of heart and passion put into this video. I can tell how much this whole franchise meant to you. Amazing 👏🏻
I'm just awestruck dude, you've surpassed yourself with this video essay. Resident Evil 2 is absolutely one of the greatest video games of all time and I think the first three Resi games also did a lot to revive the zombie film genre. If you think of the late 90s in horror, you hardly get anything done with zombies, and Romero is kind of in obscurity. Then Resi comes along, and suddenly you've got zombies on magazine covers, you've got Romero directing a TV add for Resident Evil 2 in Japan and people shouting out Dawn of the Dead, Zombie Flesh Eaters and the like as being inspirational for the games, and within a few years you've got that full-on zombie revival. So I argue that after Night of the Living Dead/Dawn of the Dead, and Fulci, Capcom's Resident Evil 1 & 2 are the most important developments in the evolution of zombie cinema. I mean, it's a shame the movies based on the games themselves were weak as, but the influence the initial games had back on film makers, helping revive interest in the zombie cinema that inspired them and fuel the next generation of zombie movies, can't be ignored. So it's so excellent to see such a cinematic video to pay tribute to the games and the toy line.
Your hundred percent right, I also don't think we would have had Shaun of the dead without the resident evil episode in Spaced. which in turn kicked off a bunch of zombie movies too

Randomly just found this video researching the Re2 Toybiz figures. My god brother…you gained a new sub 100% earned. Bravo on the production. Truly a masterpiece. Now, being a die hard RE fan I was truly touched by your story of watching RE2 and being obsessed. I relate so much to that story except I was 7 at the time and it was resident evil 1 but I watched someone play and ever since then I’ve been a die hard fan.
It’s a toy line I’ve never actually went down but always wanted to given how much I love the franchise games & movies, but this has got me wanting to start the collection
Amazing video bro! And the full circle moment at the end with the footage of you playing with the figs, and making videos as young 'un was the icing on the cake! Great stuff and shout out to the crate displayed 22:57 👊🏻
Amazing video! this really brought back some memories for me. I was such a big time Resident Evil fan when these came out and I still am to this day. Birkin G3/4 and Mr X were my favorites in this line, they really went ham on the RE2 wave, specifically the big baddies.
I was living in California for a short time in High School here in the US and it was the first time I had access to a mall with shops that had anime and video games that Wal-Mart didn't carry and I got myself the double pack of Leon and the Licker. I still have both in the bottom of a big sea chest with all my childhood stuff in them. It's nice to a see a video about a toy line I actually remember being excited about and for the same reason; Resident Evil was such an amazing experience! Still nervous playing them today, but more for losing than having my face eaten off. Great video!
Incredible Theo, it took me a good hour to get through it because I was stopping and starting to get a better look at the sets you created. The street scenes look straight from an awesome 90s toy commercial. Couldn't agree more with the comparison between the William Birkin and John Carpenter's The Thing, what a figure! That childhood footage at the end just put it over!🤘
What a journey back into Resident Evil and beyond...WoW!! Now I have recently turned 60 and also have very fond memories of this incredible game series and in my opinion you nailed it.. Thank you
I worked at a toy store in the states when these lines dropped.. they didn't move off the shelfs.. ironically.. I ended up getting them on clearance.. I also had to go under 2 medical proceures both with nephrostomy tubes inserted. This video is amazing.. also thanks for sharring the personal side. cheers
Interesting, my first time seeing them was on clearance, maybe 2000 or 2001. They were in the entrance display at KB Toys if I remember correctly. I remember thinking, "Resident Evil has a toy line? That's so weird."
The zombie cop that came with Claire also really freaked me out as a kid 😆 Also holy shit, playing Nemesis in a hospital must've been a hell of a vibe 😅
First time viewer of your channel here and I just wanted to say that you did an absolutely fantastic job on this video! Resident Evil is one of my top VG loves and seeing others share the passion for the franchise and the toys at the same time brings so much joy to me. Hope everything is well and keep at it!
My first Resident Evil figures were also the Claire and Zombie Cop Two Pack coincidentally. I was at my towns actual summer festive and one of the vendors had toys for sale, mostly junk but in the back corner I saw this two pack and I loved Resident Evil, didnt know there were figures for it. That was almost 20 years ago, and over those years I’ve bought and sold through most of the other figures from Moby Dick to Palisades. At the moment I still have my original Claire, Zombie Cop, Birkin stage 2 and 3/4, Tyrant, Chimera, Hunter, Licker, Forest, Mr X… to be honest I guess I still have all of the toybiz ones besides one of the best ones (IVY) which I might have sold. I’m more of a Neca/Palisades/Moby Dick guy now but Toybiz still holds a special place in my heart.
From the moment you mentioned you were making this video i've been looking forward to it and it was definitely worth the wait, i still remember going to my local comic book store and seeing them for the first time and getting all of wave 2
Huge fan of RE and especially RE2 here. Great video! I remember seeing these for the first time...IIRC around the release of RE2. I remember seeing the Claire and Leon two packs and NOT buying them because I noticed they had those "pre-posed" articulated positions and that kind of turned me off. Never saw many other figures that I can remember. Now you make me want to get them all lol.
These figures are so damn cool and detailed! They also seemed like they were ahead of their time. Great video! Just in time during RE4 Remake release 😊
I'm not that interested in action figures, but I'm the number 1 fan of RE saga, these are too cool for their own good! Good job getting people unrelated interested in these kind of things, the video is great!!
With how popular and how hard resident evil is STILL going I’m surprised the only figures we have are older ones. Why hasn’t any of the big action figure companies mass produced them?
Dude, I'm so jealous and you are so lucky to have all these figures, they are extremely, rare and expensive., but great video. I have the same emotional attachment to resident evil, especially 3, for being there when I had no friends.
when i was in middle school i loved seeing these. I had collected everyone except chris who i bought several years later. at the time they were $5 a piece. thank ya for this awesome review!
This was very well done! Great job mixing your personal connections to the toy line and funny commentary. The Toy Biz line is great and I still have my collection MIB. I too had the same experience playing these games on PS1 but I was an adult, I picked up RE2 Friday after work for a weekend rental when my Son (now an Adult) was an small child. I played all weekend and even called in sick on the Monday after to complete the game. I was hooked and purchased almost all games and systems that came out after. Maybe that’s why I am a hardcore RE collector to this day. This was a fun video to watch and kudos to all the effort you put into creating an entertaining video for collectors! Thanks Bro! 17:34
@@slimehousetvSorry to hear about your childhood illness. Traumatic events can be difficult…especially when you’re young. Glad you have a healthy perspective and best of luck to you and your future pursuits.
im really into resident evil AND im a toy collector ... absolutely love this video. im so impressed with the sculpting on all the monsters. i collect the small toybiz x-men and all of those are a little ugly (affectionately) so im impressed with the quality of these things i kind of love leon's awkward squat. funny awkward action figs are my favorite, super endearing to me
I've got to say, as a huge *Toy Biz* fan, they were the best for toys this detailed at the time. Aesthetically, this is my favourite era of _Resident Evil._ It's colourful, well-designed and very toyetic. Even minus the licenced name, *"Cops vs Monsters"* is such a great concept for a toy line. Arguably, a questionable one for _kids,_ but hey, we liked gross stuff back then. I really like the way you've presented the figures in the diorama with the cool lighting and the fog. Has that classic toy advert vibe and shows them off at their best. 👍 My biggest gripes (and the main reason I wouldn't hunt these down for myself) are that the action features always inhibit the play value and the "poseable statues" level of articulation, while common at the time, doesn't hold up well. That Leon figure is a crying shame. I get what they were going for, but he just looks like Richard III limping around. He deserved better. Incidentally, these toys would be amazing with Toy Biz's *Marvel Legends -era* tooling. Or if I'm really being wishful, _Legendary Comic Book Heroes-era_ tooling. Solid stuff. Really like the presentation here. Hope to see more. 😁
You did a great job as always, bro. I love Resident Evil and grew up playing the games. I had a few of these figures, and your break down was great. Keep up the excellent work!
Absolutely epic video bro‼️ I enjoyed every minute of it👌🏻 I love how you put your old home videos in at the end of it too that was awesome, very well done🙌🏻
Absolutely incredible video, man. What a wonderful celebration of one of my favorite toylines and series in general. Mad jealous of that diorama you have set up… I’d love to make my own provided the time and space some day.
Hey Theo had to say you never disappoint with your videos de sheer amount of work you put into making them always keeps me coming back for more. Great job bruv 👊🏻
I love and miss this figures! I wish they had Made more of this figures for Part 3 Nemesis. I also love the blade figures from toybiz. Would be so cool if a company Made a Sequel line for These figures in the same style.
Love how passionate you talk about this silly figures, because they are kind of silly but back in the day, they were extremelly impresive and stand out pretty strongly by they high quality and even today, no other company has ever did such a complete line based on the first two games. Is weird how intimidating was Resident Evil when we were kids, rigth? Also your setup is the coolest and for me, the one that really grossed me out and disturbed me the most was Forest Speyer.
thanks so much for the kind words dude, glad you enjoyed the video, and yeah, Res deffo had a whole generation of us SHOOK when it first came out! 😅🧟♂️👊
I was really surprised to see so many action-features in the line, Toy Biz certainly got ambitious with the designs.🙂 Really nice sculpt detail and paint-aps for that era of action figure. Figure scale difference, that's hard to get in any toy line ever, the contrast looks so good for the biggies.😍 For that era I like the transition to ball socket shoulders but wish the hip sockets had the same articulation rather the V-cut legs and that fixed full body posture method that everybody was using at the time Ie. perma-pose. 🤔That aside they still have that old school Toy-Durability that has been mostly lost in the time after that. Great video man, the extra production value work with the diorama street sets was top notch.😉
Great toy line! I remember I had the Johnny figure from House Of The Dead I would add him among the other zombies and the frog monsters with the other monsters from Resident Evil figures.
7:15 I think you are right there, although the Crash Dummies line does have a dog that you can splay to make it look like it has been run over by a car.
WOW what a cool video. great! very nice with the diorama and the lighting. Cool toy line. I also played Resident Evil on PS 1 back then and was scared...haha But those are always good childhood memories
What an incredible episode mate, I loved every moment of this to the backdrops to the figure placement even your archived footage at the end and in between was incredible. Like you I have fond memories of playing res evil on my ps1 from 1997 and res evil 2 1998 at my mates place. And Ovcourse collecting the toys in 1999-2000 I have most of them and sadely don’t have them anymore but I can start again 😉👍🏻 peace dude 😎🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥
These figures are like one of 2 toylines I want to recollect. I don't care about getting any vintage toylines from when I was a kid, but this line is one of 2 that I want to get again.
@@slimehousetv Certainly not a cheap hunt though that's for sure. Though it could be worse. Could be Palisades RE figures. Or those weird import semi-statue figures that had a final form Nemesis BaF.
Are you a Sheffield lad? Steel City all the way!!! I've only just found your content but I'm loving it and to have someone my age, from where I'm from, talk so passionately about toys we grew up on, makes me feel warm inside. Fan for life bro
Yeah man such a shame that we never got Barry and Rebecca chambers, and some of the other boss characters for sure, I want a zombie shark and sewer alligator haha
Ha! I have all of these. Great figures. I also made a Barry Burton and Wesker figure to go with the lineup. And a few more, like Jill from RE3 and Nemesis. I also fixed the G3 Birkin and made a G1 Birkin. Gotten a lot of offers for them, but I hold onto them.
@@slimehousetv If you go to Google images and type in: "barry burton toybiz figure", mine should be the first to pop up. My page on figurerealm is Slaver. I have a bunch of customs from the Toybiz line.

My biggest gripes (and the main reason I wouldn't hunt these down for myself) are that the action features always inhibit the play value and the "poseable statues" level of articulation, while common at the time, doesn't hold up well.
hey, really, glad you enjoy the video! took a real long time to create 😅🧟♂️👊
Great video, really enjoyed it. So much nostalgia with the resident evil games and toys. Thanks for making
glad it gave you some joy yo!
You did a great job as always, bro. I love Resident Evil and grew up playing the games. I had a few of these figures, and your break down was great. Keep up the excellent work!
Much appreciated!
Thank you for this great video. One of the best toy lines of all time. I had all of them except the Ada Wong 2 pack and Mr. X.
Glad you enjoyed it man
AMAZING VIDEO loved it man!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love this video, you made me love my Resident evil figure even more!
I hope you do these for Jurassic park figures one day.
Amazing toy line! I have all the RE2 Figures and the tyrant from RE1. G2 birkin I think is the best figure, looks incredible even today
Mate, possibly the best toy video I've ever seen 💥
Epic work, boooooooooooom 💥💥💥
Wow! High praise, appreciate that!
Absolutely epic video bro‼️ I enjoyed every minute of it👌🏻 I love how you put your old home videos in at the end of it too that was awesome, very well done🙌🏻
Thanks for watching man
Absolutely incredible video, man. What a wonderful celebration of one of my favorite toylines and series in general. Mad jealous of that diorama you have set up… I’d love to make my own provided the time and space some day.
appreciate you taking the time to watch it man :)
Hey Theo had to say you never disappoint with your videos de sheer amount of work you put into making them always keeps me coming back for more. Great job bruv 👊🏻
much appreciated man glad you was feeling it!
Amazing collection you have dude, just blown away 😯, awesome video 👍.
Glad you enjoyed yo!
Holy shit best doco yet!! . Get it bruv i really enjoyed that man thank you🫡😎
Fantastic video man, great retrospective on the series and figures
Much appreciated. Glad you like it :)
The little Theo skateboarding clip sick 🤙
😅😅👊🛹
Amazing video the detail in the backdrop is quality, I never had these as kid but always heard about them from friends
Appreciate you watching!
Wow, you put so much work and passion into this and it turned out great.
Thanks yo!!
This video was phenomenal, great job! And makes me really wish Capcom would offer some new affordable figures
Thanks so much!
I was really surprised to see so many action-features in the line, Toy Biz certainly got ambitious with the designs.🙂 Really nice sculpt detail and paint-aps for that era of action figure. Figure scale difference, that's hard to get in any toy line ever, the contrast looks so good for the biggies.😍
For that era I like the transition to ball socket shoulders but wish the hip sockets had the same articulation rather the V-cut legs and that fixed full body posture method that everybody was using at the time Ie. perma-pose. 🤔That aside they still have that old school Toy-Durability that has been mostly lost in the time after that.
Great video man, the extra production value work with the diorama street sets was top notch.😉
Absolutely amazing, thanks for putting this together.
Glad you enjoyed it yo!
Congrats Theo, such an amazing work! Your lighting skills are on point, loved those diorama scenes👏👏👏💪🎉🤖
Thanks man! Glad the hard work didn't go unnoticed haha
Great toy line! I remember I had the Johnny figure from House Of The Dead I would add him among the other zombies and the frog monsters with the other monsters from Resident Evil figures.
Ahh House Of The Dead, That's another awesome line I'm tryna complete so I can make a video!
7:15 I think you are right there, although the Crash Dummies line does have a dog that you can splay to make it look like it has been run over by a car.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome video mate 👍The figures are really cool especially the action features that each figure has.
Appreciate you checking the video yo!
WOW what a cool video. great! very nice with the diorama and the lighting. Cool toy line. I also played Resident Evil on PS 1 back then and was scared...haha But those are always good childhood memories
The best times! Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it
What an incredible episode mate, I loved every moment of this to the backdrops to the figure placement even your archived footage at the end and in between was incredible.
The best times dude!
These figures are like one of 2 toylines I want to recollect. I don't care about getting any vintage toylines from when I was a kid, but this line is one of 2 that I want to get again.
That's awesome, good luck on your hunt they are a great line to own for sure
@@slimehousetv Certainly not a cheap hunt though that's for sure. Though it could be worse. Could be Palisades RE figures. Or those weird import semi-statue figures that had a final form Nemesis BaF.
@@The_Rage_Kage haha yeah, I do often see them loose at toy fairs though at decent prices
Dude that was a top class video as always love the home video clips bro never stop being so damn cool 🤙
Thank you bro 👊
Are you a Sheffield lad? Steel City all the way!!! I've only just found your content but I'm loving it and to have someone my age, from where I'm from, talk so passionately about toys we grew up on, makes me feel warm inside. Fan for life bro
Certainly am mate 👊👊👊💯
And thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed the video yo!
Great video!
Thank you for sharing!
@@og6212 thank you for watching!
There's level to this shit, and you just RAISED them bro!
🙌🙌🙌🙌
Epic! Never played Resident Evil or seen the figures before, but still, this was Epic!! 🤘
Hey thanks man glad you did dig it even though it's not your thing 🙌🙌💯
Awesome vid. Never seen these toys before, I will be keeping an eye out now 😜
Happy hunting! 🙂🧟♂️👊
Man this game scared the hell out of me as a kid lol loveeeee this video awesome work Theo
Thanks for checking it man! Glad you enjoyed it
@@slimehousetv loveeeeeeeeeed it bro 😎👍🔥
This was such a great video 👍👍👍
The effort that went into this 👌 Awesome dude.
thank you always man 👊
Love RE and loved these figures. I really wish we had a full new line. The neca line was great too
Yeah man such a shame that we never got Barry and Rebecca chambers, and some of the other boss characters for sure, I want a zombie shark and sewer alligator haha
What a fucking dope video!!! Well done you. Be proud of this one. Already waiting for the next one 😂
thanks dude!
Everything about this piece is firing on all cylinders. Keep making stuff like this and all of “Toy TH-cam” are gonna give up. 🤘
High praise thank you always 🙌🙌💯👊
That's so dope, would love to see!
@@slimehousetv If you go to Google images and type in: "barry burton toybiz figure", mine should be the first to pop up. My page on figurerealm is Slaver. I have a bunch of customs from the Toybiz line.
The RE figures are some of the best ive seen
Awesome video Theo 👍 the action figures are so cool and creepy all in one 😎😕 just like the game 😋
glad you enjoyed it :)
I miss Toy Biz. To this day, they're like the only company to have made a Strider Hiryu and a Captain Commando figure.
Big Ups Theo! Great vid again !!!
appreciate that yo!
