@jacobham2003 kind of the same thing for me I been playing resident evil 6 on pc but got my ps5 pro a couple weeks ago and I re-downloaded the game and it's legit I still get the chills when an agent hunter joins

I don't mind RE6 being an action game, but I do with the controls were better explained. I used to think this game was so absurdly hard it stopped being fun. It wasn't until I looked up tutorials on TH-cam that I understood how fun the combat is.
Imagine RE6 remake with similar control to RE4 remake. I believe Capcom could make it work. Imagine parry mechanics of RE4R combining with dodge mechanics of RE3R in RE6R. Plus all of that with co-op mercenaries and versus mode. It'll sell, and I'll buy it.
@@youwillforgetinaweek not only dodge mechanics, cover systems, changing weapons to your off hand, counters and quick shots combo, slides etc. a remake of 6 could be amazing, the game tried to be deep mechanically but it was poorly implemented and not explained to players at all.
@ambersonerikson3122 Agreed, and enemy AIs were not challenging enough to match its deep combat mechanics. When I fought Salazar, Krauser, and Saddler in RE4R, I wish we have RE6 mechanics in those fights.
I didnt like Jake as a character, but the Jake and Sherry campaign had one of the more compelling story if the campaigns, the themes of legacy and nature vs nurture were stories that we' really haven't explored in series. but the gameplay was just kinda meh. altho i have to say the stealth and pursue segments were pretty fun and intentse.
The story of their campaign is decent at times. Jake is just about as interesting as a piece of toast for me. Probably they were thinking “hey let’s try a super serious grounded sort of character”, which is ok, but they forgot to make him memorable.
What happened with the audio?... I'm not sure if it's my phone, but for some reason near the end, there was really bad overlap, making it hard to understand what you're trying to say
No it definitely starts overlapping like 15 minutes in. I was confused for a second but when the three voices started talking over each other i kinda figured. Hope he realizes it and fixes the audio.
Say what you want about the quality of Resident Evil 6. Sure it has bad writing here and there. The graphics may have been downgaraded from RE5. But the movement controls for characters were on point in that game.
Jake is actually a very key character, and his story links many events in the story, don’t drop him! Four lines are actually ok, probably use the Revelations 1/2 approach, rewrite and cutting the whole story into chapters, players controls different characters at different chapters and gradually learn the whole story. Items should be kept by only that character, not sharing, of course. Ada story keeps separated like separate ways, of course. The drop in survival horror is also caused by the single line track of the story, without a lot of back-tracking like in RE2 and RE4 (that’s why RE3 is less survival horror than RE2).
I’d agree Jake’s story role is ok, but the character itself is just bland for re. For my taste, anyway. Re has had such colorful and memorable characters from the start (and cheesy, but in a good way). Even a non-character like Ethan has his moments.
Co-op mechanics are totally at odds with horror atmosphere. It’s ok once in awhile for variety (like Luis cabin battle in re4), but it’s just ill suited to re’s world.
For example, if in the Co-op mechanics, each character have unique task from time to time so they meet and separate on and off, that will make sense. For example, if Leon and Claire did not separate, Claire can be rescuing Elliot while Leon explore the West Hallway, they reunite to exchange the information and join a little then separate to look for the medal again. Or Leon draw Mr. X attention so Claire can go find the electronic parts, etc. Some boss fights they can fight together. Cooperation to survival is the key.
I didn’t word it well, but what I was getting at, is that having characters together and talking too much lowers the isolation and creepy factor. In real life it’s way less spooky if you’ve got a companion with you, in most circumstances. Just some primal instinct things.
Honestly, i firmly believe that RE6 being more of an action game than a survival horror is a natural progression to the series. Chris, Leon, and technically Sherry as well, have been dealing with BOWs since the beginning. They have been dealing with it for many years. So of course they are going to act more like a action hero than a scared rookie just trying to survive and getting the hell out of dodge. They are all veterans at this point. And aslo for natural progression, there honestly shouldn't really be that many regular zombies all over the place. The viruses have been worked on and mutated many times over the years to try and create more powerful BOWs. There are honestly only two real main gripes I ever had about the game. 1: QTEs should have never been in the game. Those need to go and never come back to RE. 2: I hated the whole PTSD and amnesia plot they gave to Chris and him being a whining bitch about loosing squad mates. Hell. He lost a chunk of his squad mates from his STARS unit. Not to mention betrayed by his captain Albert Wesker. So him acting like a bitch about the Ada clone killing his squad shouldn't have effected him the way it did. But overall, everything else to me personally was just fine the way it was for a 6th main line title installment.
Story wise yeah, Leon's campaign was the weakest one. Claire not being there really hurt his story because him and Helena just knew each other and their only common thread was their occupation. Where he just gets string along chasing after one woman to another throughout the story. The themes of conspiracy and espionage and betrayal, felt like a nice call back to the more original trilogy, but it didnt have much substance outside of that. the only positive about leon's campaign was that it had a stronger atmosphere going through Talloaks as shit hit the fan was an absolute treat. With Chris's campaign despite the weak gameplay, had great character moments and was an interesting exploration of chris's trauma and ptsd, like everyone he's ever worked with or under had besides Sheva had suffered greatly or died or presume died in Jill's case, so there's a lot of guilt and self doubt there. Plus watching Piers and him learning from Chris was a treat. Jake and Sherry's champaign was the most middle of the road, and felt like it was the only campaign where both characters are given the most equal importance to their story. The themes of legacy as well as nature versus nurture. Was a good narrative theme, but honestly they tried too hard to make Jake "cool" that it comes off as cringe, the stealth and runner segements were pretty fun, its got a bit of the Outlast/Alien Isolation style of tense horror, but it was lacking in the visual and gameplay horror. Overall, the potential for a great story was there for 6. but gameplay and just does not match or allow for the compelling stories to have any attention cause we're pushed from one explosive scene to another. Also Claire not being there to thread all three campaigns together was a big fail, she would have had connections to all 3 stories. She would've had to deal with her brother's ptsd and the trauma he's endured taking away the brother that she knew, and could've been the moral compass that connected with Sherry and help shaped Sherry to becoming the selfless woman that young woman she is, where despite her family's legacy not letting the Birkins/Umbrella define her for the rest of her life. Plus Claire would've been saucy af, with her one liners and read everybody to filth.
is nobody going to mention the last part of his video is him dubbing over himself? other than that, it's a great video! I have NO idea how to remake RE6. luckily, I jumped on the band wagon that is RE7 (which looking at the classics, had nothing in common with them)

But at some point i would love to see a remake of RE6, the horrific look of Ustanak, and many other mutants
I actually found re6 fun, but i always thought Sherry Jake Ustanak was so good it should have gotten its own title, especially since they are the kids of birkin and wesker

I think the main problem for RE5 and RE6 is that the story became military mission instead of stealth mission. The BSAA was too large so everything became a team work. In Leon's line, of Revelation 1 and 2, though there was Co-op, the scary atmosphere was there.
