Old and new dmax are both excellent however the new one has more torque and power including safety features compare to its predecessor. But reliability wow Isuzu is the best.
The eco screen (landscape thing) tracks how economically you're driving. My mum just purchased the runout model and the dealer explained that trees will start growing on the screen when you are driving economically. Apparently it never happens.
Test drove the new ranger wildcat and the X terrain today ranger drove a bit Nice but was very impressed with the new Isuzu not as much punch but still good also can't see how a 2L twin turbo pushing 30psi is going to last long unlike the Isuzu engine.

“Not dynamically as good as Ford ranger or Toyota hilux”.. seriously? Maybe dynamic wasn’t the right choice of word there, the Ranger and hilux recently have made barely any changes, and the new Dmax is radically different from the old model, so I’m really confused what you actually mean?
Dam shame nobody can get stock. I have approached 3 dealers for the X-Terrain (MorningtonViC, Parramatta NSW & Townsville Qld) similar story across the board, no one able to supply until March/April 2021 and even that is not guaranteed. One dealer suggesting more like May. Sure they all have the one tester vehicle, but they need to hang on to that, understandable. Something about key component of the engine supply storage out of the UK, due to Covid Lockdown. Maybe this is where the carry over con-rods are sourced?
Hope the air con evaporator doesn’t crack like mine after just 35k miles , never been off road , never towed , my truck has had the easiest life a truck could have , it’s just cost me £800 for it to be replaced , the so called five year warranty “surprisingly “ doesn’t cover it ...tough trucks my arse !
Interesting, mine got replaced twice under warranty. First time around 20000km, second time around 75000km. Was worried the second time as at that point I wasn't getting it serviced by the dealer. Happened while on a beach fishing trip, with a 40km stretch of heavy corrugations and rutted road. Both times fixed under warranty no questions asked. Live In South Australia
Hi Sam, you stated that the new X Terrain missed out on DAB. That's incorrect. The icon is actually on the screen when you mention that. Excellent review and its a great comparison when you have the 2 models out. I had 2012 LSM and just picked up my MY21 LSU. Brilliant utes.
The 2019 dmax have diffrence foglamp, drl design.... This a 2017-2018 The new dmax looks far more better than the facelifted HILUX, and the most important thing is: the top of range dmax is cheaper than the hilux sr5+....!!!
@@alanmay7929 i beg the differ on that if you compare the sr5 to the dmax. the rogue does look nice and the rugged x is litrally the last model just bigger flares. but you really are paying for the badge on them it doesnt even have BSM and other features alot of/all of the new updated dual cabs have.
I bought my 2012model 2wd in 2013, then that ad came out. 7 years of it. The song has been trashed. That song was targeted to the baby boomer. This new Dmax still has the same retrashed techno version. I wanted a truch so I bought my 2013, today they are just another techno ute.
Simple, engine reliability and built quality the old dmax doesn't rely on useless techs that other pickup trucks had, well its a truck for a practical person.
@@cantiladrianeb.6241 I understand that. But realistically reliablilty of most dual cabs are all the same. 58k seems abit overpriced. When comparing to navaras or tritons of similiar spec and almost 10 - 15k cheaper.
Dear followers, anyone who has bought a new ISUZU through a GM agency should start praying to God, the chance of receiving a fast and mechanically correct service, would be faster to receive from God. Be warned not to throw your money in the trash, share and pass on so others don't have to get screwed and eat shit.
Parking spaces get smaller and smaller: If you have forgotten to push the button for the mirrors to retract (fold) too bad...as they do NOT close automatically (like most other new vehicles) For the money you pay...and it has not even that feature......NO thanks
Garbage! The new overrated bullshit mobile, otherwise known as a Hilux, is $75k (Rugged X), and that’s before you’ve even added so much as a different colour paint, let alone any add-ons! Chuck a few extras in the mix and you’ll fast be clocking in upwards of $80k

don't forget the smoother driveline, much better front suspension and being almost entirely new ground up!

correct its bs, probably just put in there to keep the zealot greenies quiet. cant see anyone that is buying a ute giving one shit about it.
If you don't use tree mode all the trees will be dead and the landscape will look like that picture😱
eco screen is fake

Always preferred car reviews based on mid level features as not everyone can afford top specs
I say hello from mexico, i wish this ute was here, we need this kind of trucks
Sorry Sam, you mention at @3:15 that the X-terrain doesn't come with DAB, apparently it's standard on the entire new Dmax range.

Usually people who go off road upgrade the suspension anyway
Isuzu best of Asia
where is the older?

What's with the pizza slice alloy wheels...that's a poor effort from Isuzu.
its on offroad vehicle not a lambo
I second it. Looks a bit out of place.
