Mate hands down probably one of the best reviews I've seen done, not regarding the Dmax but as just a review, bloody fantastic. No doubt your numbers will grow very quickly, great job and cracking no BS review.
Thank you so much mate - means a lot to hear given how small an operation this is, and given how much I pride myself on being truly independent, unbiased, and prepared to call out both the good and the bad where I see it.
TH-cam recommended me this and I must say that I am completely surprised by the amount of subs you have now, you practically make better videos than those with half a million subs man. Hope you continue to make quality content man, you'll be pulling viewers left and right with the quality u have rn
Stumbled upon this channel and was incredibly impressed. The presenter is excellent. Hugely surprised at the low subscriber count...I'm sure if subsequent reviews are this quality, this will grow very quickly. You have a new subscriber 👍
Thank you so much for the kind words and the sub! Admittedly, I'm primarily a writer by trade and the Drive Section website (and my other freelance writing work) is my main focus, and so producing video content has been secondary to that at times given for the most part it's practically all filmed and edited by myself as well. I'm certainly hoping to see it grow and expand as I continue to refine my video style going forward though, so I appreciate your support!
Mate he is doing a drive review - if he had a bikini clad or figure hugging clothed sheilas around like others he would have three more zeroes next to the 369 subscribers. I guess he can always try- getting a chick to show her and the vehicles curves- always works.
Just found your chanel and love the review. You covered a lot of material most of the others haven't. We're looking to buy one and set it up for touring next year. Can't wait to get behind the wheel of one. Thanks Mick
Took awhile for algorithm to show me this vid great job. Having owned a patrol ute for 18 years and looking to upgrade I am liking the look new dmax time for a test drive I think cheers
I put a deposit on my x terrain today I cannot wait till it arrives . This morning I drove the new Hilux, And I have been a Toyota owner for a long time it drove like a pig ,noisy Steering was awkwardly lite ,bumpy Not refined in any way . And to achieve the options of the x terrain I needed to spend an additional 12k .good luck Hilux for being tight .
Ayrton Rama Me too!. I loved driving the Ranger but tow a lot and want more flexibility. Also, I’m not convinced about putting so much pressure through a 2.0l bi Turbo. I’ve driven one (with boat) and it shifted through the gears - a lot. Can’t wait to test drive.
Hi Douglas - the new BT-50 is the same underneath as this new D-Max, so it'll be right there alongside it as far as reliability is concerned. Toyota claims to have gotten on top of its DPF issues with the facelifted HiLux model, but time will be the judge of that. I'll be sure to try and put out some reviews when I'm able to get my hands on both the BT-50 and HiLux though.
Hi Sahbani - as I mentioned in the video at around 4:38 the new engine is considerably quieter, remaining very hushed below around 3000rpm. It does get a bit noiser in the higher rpm range, but it is still nowhere near as coarse or loud a sound as before.
I've seen the D-Max 2021,and Ford Ranger 2021,go head to head, and the D-Max just couldn't keep up,and that's with all the upgrades.Isuzu still has a long way to go.
Hi Caleb - firstly, all vehicles available to journalists at launch were 4x4 models so had no choice in that. Secondly, if you're after an overview of its off-road capabilities, that's discussed from 11:38 onwards. Hope that helps.
Dear all motoring journalists A Diesel engine is ALWAYS going to be noisy. We all know that! How about you stop talking about the clatter and concentrate on other things because quite frankly every pickup truck/ute/buckie buyer expects diesel rumble 🤷🏽♂️ Sit in a Prius if you are going to wine about diesel noise. Thank you
Hi Tashinga - for the sake of objectivity, it's just something that simply needs to be pointed out, especially as trying to cut down on clatter is something Isuzu made a big point of trying to do here. You will note, though, that I did say I liked how muscular the engine in this does sound when you get on it, and that most of the time it's remarkably quiet for what it is.
But man...there are different levels of noise. Some diesels make a hell of racket, others are more subdued, like the Triton, Mercedes and surprisingly the Musso. I think it's objective of the presenter to differentiate them 😐
Isuzu spent $100 million dollars in advertising - very cleverly too- using cronies. Isuzu hopes to claw back from Ford and Toyota using "reliability" over popularity. Even new Ranger which is a real true model when released never got this much publicity- a testament to the millions spent wisely through the grass roots campaign. There is no doubt a D Max is a very popular ute so time will tell if the $100 million will fetch treble returns or not.One thing that baffles me - in 2021 despite all the safety gear still drum brakes in the rear?

Thank you so much Lars, it truly means a lot to hear. Definitely don't have any plans of stopping any time soon.
Finally a test drive where they don’t put it down because it doesn’t have heated seats, can’t wait to get mine
Heated seats are for snowflakes .
This is the best new model D Max review I’ve seen on the Internet. It looks like a great ute.

I am planning to get one. Any body knows when it will arrive to Saudi Arabia?
This video made me subscribe to the channel.

Great review, well paced and fresh. How about doing a comparison against the Hilux?
Thanks zenopod - I'll see if I can line something up!

Tritón or dmax?

looking forward to a 3 ton caravan towing assessment
Hi Ecka - I'll see if I can line something like this up for next time I'm back in a D-Max, along with some more extensive payload testing, too.

Isuzu dmax la mejor pickup del mundo
Can’t wait to test drive. I was leaning towards Ranger at first, however holding off until I drive this.
I still think the ranger drives better but if you want long term reliability and an almost bulletproof engine id go for the dmax.
@@Naessey agree. Still, theres no replacement for displacement. Either way, both are great cars, it just depends on the persons preference and need.
A new king of reliability for utes until the new Hilux comes out..or perhaps the new BT50.

Have the new isuzu 2020 engines become unobtrusive or remained just as annoying as their predecessors and please answer
Hi Sahbani - as I mentioned in the video at around 4:38 the new engine is considerably quieter, remaining very hushed below around 3000rpm. It does get a bit noiser in the higher rpm range, but it is still nowhere near as coarse or loud a sound as before.

Nice review. Just make it right. Its not a 1 ton ute rather its a 2 ton ute. Thank you and all the very best.
In Australia, a 1 Tonne Ute is called that because of its payload capacity, not its kerb weight.
Should’ve done the review on a 2wd model, if your gonna test drive a 4x4 at least show its off road capabilities
Hi Caleb - firstly, all vehicles available to journalists at launch were 4x4 models so had no choice in that. Secondly, if you're after an overview of its off-road capabilities, that's discussed from 11:38 onwards. Hope that helps.
