Used to have a 2015 LS-T in the family, put more than 210,000klms on it and the only issues were a rattle from a loose screw behind the glovebox and a leaky trans cooler line right on 200,000klms. Apart from that absolutely perfect, very reliable and couldn't fault it at all

Otgher than servicing, never let me down, great vehicle. Gary
I was looking at buying a 2012-2015 Dmax but end up settling with a low km, one owner, 2009 Mitsubishi ML Triton with the 4m41 3.2 engine and super select transfer case, 10k cheaper than a Dmax much better value, overall feel of the Triton is better than a Dmax, the 3.2 engine in the Triton is awesome so much down low pull compared to the rest of the other brand 4cyl diesels
Got a 2016 4x4 space cab 5 speed pre dpf 220ks its bloody awesome so good i bought a current mux as well top of the range 4x4 but it has to many driver assistance functions thankfully you can turn the off quickly
I had a 2019, put 180,000km on it, all done towing over 3k sometimes, hauling big loads, and lots of offroading, even having to leave it overnight 3 times because i couldn’t get the tractor to where it was stuck, truck did great. Just started to give me dpf issues at the end and also I suspect the turbo problems because it was getting slow off the bottom but i truly beat the crap out of it

Mate, good video and I have enjoy these theme videos. However, I think your review this time had a very negitive vibe. A few of us watched this vid together and we all felt it made the DMax sound like a piece of crap, the old mate then made it like a contradiction in commenting "the best Dual cab and virtually no warranty returns". I've had 2 DMax's and 3 Toyota's including a 70 series and I research all extensively prior purchase - I'm a bit ADHD like that .Just a few pointers Jessie. 1. The Turbo replacement was an upgrade eventually but suffered a similar issue. Google it and you will see the 3rd generation of Turbo solved the issue. 2. It was a bit of an assumption I think in view of you stating there is no DPF burn button. The reason Toyota introduced this button was due to the many issues they had with the DPF due to lack of open road burns. The Isuzu 3L engine technology on the DPF is much better. The first thing you will note on inspection is the location of the DPF, much closer to the exist of hot gases opposed to the location of the DPF on Toyota. The DPF will do a burn at 40k in traffic. I know this as I know have a 2024 model. My 70 series needed a open road run generally over 80k per hr. Hence no requirement in the DMax for a manual burn and you will find it very difficutlt to find data on DPF burn issues with a DMax / MUX engines. Google Hilux / Prodo burn issues and you will be smashed with results. 3. The body cracking is rare. The 150 series Prado was notorious for the same isse. 4. Injectors at how many K's - a bit misleading mate. My last DMax had 270+ K's and injectors still in spec. 5. 6 Speed transmission - hmmm, not in my experience but I do have less than 20,000K on this model so I'll give you that one 🙂 Good review on the Interior well done there. Don't take it to heart mate - I enjoy your vids mate, most are cracka's. The over whelming response of comments in view of how well owner vehicles had done with their vehicles - IMHO - is a response to the feel the DMax was a problem vehicle. Personal I feel the vid would have kick a goal for us if you had made more comment about the frequency of the issues. In view of the DPF button, mate, as above, there is a good reason or this and you missed this reason completely. There you go mate - I beleive it is important to leave constructive comments when needed. In view of this, its the only vid of yours I have been critical of, so keep up the good work. Cheers mate. I look forward to further vids. Oh, no-one can critisise your wheeling skills mate - some of your committments on the track scares the POO out of me 🙂 It's not my intention to upset you buddy - so I hope you take the comments as not personal but general comments of a review.
I have a 2019 LS-T and while I enjoy the vehicle I have had two turbos replaced, an issue with the computer and recently a problem with the Transfer case . I have only done 80,000 Kilometres and the vehicle has been off the road for 10 to 12 weeks on warranty issues. I forgot to mention I have also noticed an issue with the auto transmission , until the auto has warmed up I experience some flaring . I had the transmission serviced recently and my mechanic asked if I had been towing or doing heavy off road work as the fluid was black. Not getting much help from the Isuzu Dealer. Has anyone else had these issues?

Had a 2018 MU-X. Had the turbo problem and changed under wty but we sold it. I'd never had such a boring car. The suspension was like driving a boat and turbo lag was terrible. N80 Hilux SR5 now. Much better.
2016 250,000km never had an issue, owned from new, other than the air con needing replacing under warranty. Original injectors etc LSM would be the pick of the bunch regarding models for dual cab. Unless you want something fancy or space cab or single cab.

Not bad cars drove my mates for a couple days still take my fz 80 over it any day Gears in the manual are to short and had to change gears every 2 seconds and all power disappeared at 3k rpm
Jesse, thanks for the video and another issue I have heard about the Isuzu D-Max's & MUX's is the bump steer & steering knuckle safety issues with the front tyres wearing out in under 10,000 kms.
Had a 2015 Dmax and it had a couple of annoying issues. The braked traction control was just rubbish. Like total horse shit. Would simply bog the engine to the point of stalling without actually transferring the power to the wheel with traction as it was supposed to do. Got stuck a couple of times because of it. Tried the same thing in my older D40 Navara and the rear LSD was more than enough to get me out every time. Even had issues trying to take off form a stand still up a very slight incline with passenger side wheels on wet grass and drivers side on the road. Had to reverse once my neighbour moved his car. What a joke for a 4x4. Also had a EGR fail at 98,000km and it took Isuzu 4 weeks to repair under warranty, simply no parts available in Australia at the time. Otherwise it was decent on fuel, and reliable otherwise. If it had decent rear LSD would be enough to fix 90% of my issues with the damn thing, but at the time it was enough (with the EGR sealing the deal) to sell it.
I can’t think of anything worse than driving an Isuzu or Toyota for long. They may be reliable but so dull and boring. If running coat is all that matters they are for you, but there’s so many better vehicles to drive that I could never own either brand
I think depreciation is also a factor they are dull and boring but they get the job done us farmers want things that are tried and tested. Not the latest technology that crap breaks and doesn’t last long.
Definitely watch out for the chassis cracks. Had a mate with a gen 2 dmax with factory bull bar and started cracking and wasn’t covered under warranty/good will.
Not actually chassis cracks - the cracks are actually taring or the inner panels. The Prado (I beleive 150 series) was nortorious for it. Rare to see on the DMax and can be premiturely brought on by suspecsion and mount changes.
Love these Videos!!! Need one for the BT50 (I’m in the market to buy one around Jan 2025) so would be awesome to get some information from you absolute legends!!

Yeah use to fly the Isuzu banner proud till I sold my RC Colorado a year ago for my current 80 series. Loved my Collie (basically the Gen 1 Dmax) and my folks love their 2016 MuX and 2017 Dmax (basically the last of the 5 speeds). Only things I can sin the Dmax on is on the manuals, first gear is geared pretty high so quite easy to stall it if on an incline with a bit of a load on. And also the clutch release point is quite high up too.

5. 6 Speed transmission - hmmm, not in my experience but I do have less than 20,000K on this model so I'll give you that one 🙂
Good review on the Interior well done there.
Oh, no-one can critisise your wheeling skills mate - some of your committments on the track scares the POO out of me 🙂
It's not my intention to upset you buddy - so I hope you take the comments as not personal but general comments of a review.
Got a 2018, with 600k no problem, all original
Theres many reasons the dmax is the number 1 selling car in thailand 🇹🇭
Can you please do this for an N70 hilux? I want to know what to look for in mine.
Those headrests feeling like they were pushing my head forward, were my main issue with the Colorado.
What does he mean with "burning off" when talking about the turbo ?
its in reference to the DPF mate. Part of the emissions system.
My dad has last 2012 d-max LSU with over 300,000KM seems to drive every good just with the bonet rattling a bit but he ask me to ask with inlet manifold if I’m saying the right name where the oil goes through does it block up like same diesel Utes do we don’t have any problem far as he no do lot of drive from maraylya to wangi wangi on the m1 freeway and our neighbour bruce garland who use to race Isuzu d-max said just drop it down gear and give it boot full up the hill to the speed limit it should be fine keep it clean my dad just would like to no if dad has to do anything as it running fin or anyone had trouble it us no that all thank you to anyone who can let us no or any other problem to look out or in the future
Had a 2018 MU-X. Had the turbo problem and changed under wty but we sold it. I'd never had such a boring car. The suspension was like driving a boat and turbo lag was terrible. N80 Hilux SR5 now. Much better.
i really want a extended cab isuzu D-max AT35. they are so nice
2016 250,000km never had an issue, owned from new, other than the air con needing replacing under warranty. Original injectors etc LSM would be the pick of the bunch regarding models for dual cab. Unless you want something fancy or space cab or single cab.
Do these models have an alloy tail shaft?
I have a 2014 Dmax. It has snapped 3 cvs in 6 months of owning the car. They have snapped inside the wheel hub every time. Is there anyway I could help stop snapping cvs. I'm running a 2 inch lift
Can you do a rg Colorado video
That’ll probably be coming up. I have a 2012 manual with the goldilocks 5 speed manual and love it
Nice I've got a 2015 auto rg I love it just think it would be cool to see a video on them as I've had no trouble with mine at all
Check Idel bearing, when they go they shot off through the bonnet but great ute.
thats a fault in every car
@grumpy-g5s yes but i seen holes in bonnet of Isuzu where Nissan are smash radiators
@@JimmyShields-z2h you can still a car with a damaged bonnet , probably sell 10 pulleys minimum per day I have heard the good and bad from all makes
Yeah i will keep my Lada Niva
THIS time last year picked up a mint 018 dmax space cab LSU style side one owner fresh turbo with green dot ,aircon pipe replaced and fresh gas both under warnty full service history back by Isuzu ,never been off road ,white white big black 17tuff rims came from dealer with these rims , tjm side steps nudge bar ,tub speed line coated with hard lid ,hpd catch can and oil cooler on tans ,,since done 2 inch lift Dobinson ims and wild peak 265 70 17 tires ,bendix ultumint brake upgrade ,wow brakes work Awesome now , love this ute ,cost 35k with 148ks on it 12 months ago
Thats awesome mate, keep an ear onto that turbo...unfortunately green dot are still known to fail. look out for a siren noise especially when cold.
2016 model before the DPF is the go
My 1st gen has done 420,000 km, original injectors and no smoke or major drama's so far
My first 4wd just cooked itself, perfect timing of the video 😭🤣
2016 xlt px2 350…km strong as phuck been everywhere just looked after
Wanting to know how each different car is like to modify please Jocko. Cheers mate
Sorry, I mean Jesse😊
Do np300 navaras next
That's going to be an hour long video of faults might get a bit boring 😅
@ it’s a pretty popular ute, so they might as well
I'd love it if they came in a wagon model with a 4 ton or more towing capacity as standard!
mu-x
One of the best 4b's out there...
The best*
Not bad cars drove my mates for a couple days still take my fz 80 over it any day Gears in the manual are to short and had to change gears every 2 seconds and all power disappeared at 3k rpm
Jesse, thanks for the video and another issue I have heard about the Isuzu D-Max's & MUX's is the bump steer & steering knuckle safety issues with the front tyres wearing out in under 10,000 kms.
Thats the newer 1s. The gen 3 version
there is a revised steering knuckle available that solves the bump steer and tyre wear issues
Can you guys do the pajeros next np ns etc
I can’t think of anything worse than driving an Isuzu or Toyota for long. They may be reliable but so dull and boring. If running coat is all that matters they are for you, but there’s so many better vehicles to drive that I could never own either brand
I think depreciation is also a factor they are dull and boring but they get the job done us farmers want things that are tried and tested. Not the latest technology that crap breaks and doesn’t last long.
Mitsubishi Turbos are great!
not in the case of the dmax unfortunately!
@PerformanceTourers damn
Please please please do the pajero next 🙏
We have a Isuzu M-UX the same style (from 2018) and it had turbo issues.
If you have issues in future mate, get in touch as we have a conversion kit for the later model turbos that aren’t plagued with issues.
@performancetourers4x465 you do anything for a 2.8 prado engine??
ISUZU💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🚜🚜🚜🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
Do a Pajero one pls M8 that would b3 gr8 m8
They were not replaced with the same turbo there was a different one fitted
minor design changes that does not rectify the issues.
2017 on my 4th turbo under 200,000
Definitely watch out for the chassis cracks. Had a mate with a gen 2 dmax with factory bull bar and started cracking and wasn’t covered under warranty/good will.
I got Isuzu to fully replace mine and it wasn't under warranty anymore.
Not actually chassis cracks - the cracks are actually taring or the inner panels. The Prado (I beleive 150 series) was nortorious for it. Rare to see on the DMax and can be premiturely brought on by suspecsion and mount changes.
My mate brought a 2015 D-max its only done 300,000kms and is on its 3rd engine already. I will stick with my Toyota thanks
Maybe he flogged it...
Brought it where?
Did he try changing the oil yet?
sounds like an owner issue.
Don't forget about all the hiluxs prados and fortuner with cracked pistons and dodgey dpf 😮
What didn't Isuzu give you a new ute to trash this year 😂
2017 dmax 235000km, unsure on servicing, bout to dpf and egr delete + full turbo back exhaust and tune.
Hydraulic lifters need to be adjusted? News to me
Every 45K
I thought the point was they are self adjusting too.
@@rrrandommmannope they definitely need servicing every 45,000km. Its in the owners manual
They’re not hydraulic they’re manually adjusted. It’s the same with the 3rd gen bt50
manually adjusted, not sure why he said hydraulic when they are nothing near it. The isuzu 1.9L RZ4E has hydraulic lifters tho.
Dodge chave mitsubishi gmc rewe please
Love these Videos!!! Need one for the BT50 (I’m in the market to buy one around Jan 2025) so would be awesome to get some information from you absolute legends!!
They have done one already
@@frankfurtsgooglenot sure if they have done one as in-depth as these. Theres a playlist that they made and there isn’t a vid for BT-50, happy to be corrected though.
Wish this was released a week earlier Ahahhaha
Dmax prices 📈
