Got a new model Y a few weeks ago and the suspension is great. Not too harsh at all.
The 2023 Model Y has a revised suspension known to be an improvement for ride quality 👍🏼

Do you think charging the car to less than 80% (e.g. 60%) every day is even better for the car if you don’t drive a lot?

Thanks for the information on the software updates for the Y! With your 50,000 mile review, we may just look at buying rather than lease. We were going for the S since that is what we had before. However, the Y gets more likely the more I watch your videos. And, our bending towards the Y has been partly due to the additions you've added to improve the look and wear on your car. I don't know anyone who cares more about the upkeep of a vehicle's exterior and interior than you do!

Thnx for the info!! I got my LRMY in late may after a 10mo wait. I love it! I now have 7k miles…..just had my 1st tire rotation…. And a month ago, i had to buy a new tire because of a random nail hit! It was expensive, but the car handled beautifully. I had been driving an ev (fiat 500e) previously for 4 1/2 years….so my maintenance was nearly the same as yours…. Now thIS car is a lot more comfortable….i have the 19” and i do feel the bumps…a bit…..but it is manageable. I don’t regret anything…..except….i wish that i could have gotten the $7500 tax rebate….. but at least i got my financing at 2.5%.

As a Model Y owner with 30k flawless miles I concur with your observation. A new set of tires and cabin air filters are all the SUV has needed since new. The software is the best in the business, the Supercharger network is amazing and the Y drives smoother than a sewing machine.
Just hit 30k on my model y. Battery degradation around 5%, and only maintenance has been tires. Couldn't imagine going back to an ice moblie. Still love driving it every time I get in, Plus fsd keeps getting better.
I like the grey. But man, those matte finishes are hard to beat. They just look. . . . cool.

Another great info vid 👍🏽, like how you mentioned not having to replace the battery every 30 days, all that FUD keeps going around. Lost count of all the EV horror stories I see online that are lies or misinformation. @9:35 you missed a spot by the roof rack, you gotta peel it! Have you tried leather conditioner to keep your driver seat from cracking?

MY is still looking great! What do you expect for the next 50k miles for maintenance--anything unusual owners should consider? I do long range trips almost daily so I charge to 90% virtually daily. Thoughts-Am I screwing my pack?
For maintenance, you forgot 1) Add windshield wiper fluid, and 2) Check tire air pressure and add air as needed.
He doesn't have sponsors for those things, yet.
By chance, are there any tint/ppf shops near Tucson you would recommend?

Many consumers completely don’t understand how simplified their life could be-if they were to go 100% EV, NOT hybrid.
Over 10yrs owning my Tesla’s; Only changed the tires-out of pocket! My MS has 103k miles, my MY, has 30k. Yes-CyberTruck is reserved, ONLY because these cars are the SAFEST, most secure, and situational awareness cars I’ve ever driven! And I’m a veteran who’s served over 26yrs and traveled all over the globe 🌎. The CEO of Tesla might be polarizing or controversial- but don’t let that take you away from making informed, intelligent, and consumer friendly purchases like TESLA. Trust me, I’ve owned so many cars throughout my journey in life. Tesla, is by far the most technologically advanced vehicle on wheels relevant to safety and security in the modern era.
Finally, you are absolutely correct in hiring an electrician PRIOR to entertaining a purchase of this EV. When you do the cost benefit analysis over long term of over 5-10-15 yrs, you’ll easily save yourself headaches, money, and maintenance issues if you decide to purchase an 100%EV like Tesla. I prefer Tesla, b/c NO OTHER CAR MANUFACTURER is ahead of the FSD, sentry, safety, data, AI, peace of mind, and security like Tesla. I know that will hurt the V8 naturally aspirated folks- but it’s true! And, that’s coming from a former Z06 owner of 10yrs! Excellent video my friend!

I am getting a great deal on 2020 model y with 18k miles with fsd included and I have also booked 2023 new model y after the price reduction but really confused since too good to pass out so I am really tempted for it but after looking at your comparison video and knowing about the battery change I am confused. Between purple and gray, the gray wrap would retain less heat in Arizona summers. It would look less distinctive, though. Probably better to just take the money and buy Tesla stock.
For wrap color, I've always liked BMW M2 blue 🔵
I see battle ship grey cars every day. Rarely a dark purple. Would the purple be too hot for Phoenix?

One thing that annoys me is if you bring up Streaming or switch to Bluetooth, the screen overlays the GPS map forever vs minimizing if you haven't touched the screen after 1 min.
people not having a home charger or living in apartments communities will have to charge at superchargers or at other chargers and that kind of negates the savings over ICE to a good amount.
Is there a phone holder without charging to place behind the steering?

What do you use on the outside plastics?
On color, I ordered white like you, it makes sense for SoCal like AZ. If I could just pick a cool color, it woud be a metallic blue-green, but more blue than green. Red? Eh. Not unless it was distinctive from standard red. Maybe a silver if it had some depth and a bit of sparkle. So far, I haven’t needed the internal sunshade, but if I were going to drive to Vegas or the Grand Canyon, sure, I would do it.
For color, I like that royal blue that used to be on Corvettes and Harley Sportsters.

Held up well there were a few cuts in the front of it but nothing crazy
Have you considered upgrading to a new Y wtih the $13000 price cut and the $7500 tax credit? May make an interesting video explaining the pro's/con's for others considering it.
I'm in favor of upgrading my Tesla every couple of years anyway. Just to have the latest changes on the model.

I guess the only real advantage of replacing your model Y would be the bio-weapon (positive pressure device). It appears efficient in bush fire areas such as California. I don’t think I would actually hang around to test it 😮. The AMD vs Intro chip, 5G vs 4G are other improvements. The interior enhancements are offset by the removal of the passenger automatic seat adjustment. The seat belts are not adapted for shorter people (they are too high and adjustment is not sufficient. The suspension either is bad period. My Y Performance is horrible to say the least when engaging with any crack, bump or worst …potholes! Besides those dissatisfactions, my therapy is a once in a while 0-60 in 3.7 secs 😊
I charge my 2023 model y to 80 percent and only get 260 miles the car has 1200 miles do you think that is normal
I have 7800 miles on mine and mine has been in the shop 19x. This vehicle has been a nightmare

@@Gjeebs Thankfully, that matters a lot to me so because of you I realize 2020 models and prior have the option of low regen which is great for a smooth comfy drive. I hate the new ones where the regen is so aggressive that it abruptly propels you forward in your seat. I know you can modulate it with the throttle but that's a lot of work.. i wish they bring it back which I heard they are...

Hi Gjeebs, nice channel with tons of info (a lot of times in a funny way ;-) ). I am about to get an EV (most probably will decide which one in a couple of days). Most probably will be a Model Y RWD model 2023. I am just wondering: all the fuzz about the noise inside the cabin, is this exagerated (I mean a lot?) as when looking your roadtrip video's the car seems to be quite silent in the cabin (not at same level as a Mercedes, but still, quied). As you drive hundreds of miles with this MY, I thought you were the right person to ask.
The new ones are much better and 19" wheels help. I think you will be fine especially if you don't drive around in silence

minimum degradation is at lower percentage, it would be better that you don't charge every night to 80% unless you need it. if you can go 2 or 3 days and charge when you are at 30% back to 80% that would be a good idea and also beneficial for the BMS
Hello, im debating on the wheels for my new Y between gemeni and induction. The 19’s seem to ride smoother but would you argue that has more to do with the tire than with the wheel itself. Like if you put the tires from the femeni wheels onto the induction wheels would it drive smoother?
On your Model Y, try 19" Martian wheels, and Pirelli P-Zero Electric All Season tires that are the same tire size that Tesla puts on their 19" wheel vehicles.

Damn 50k miles within the span of 2-3 years is a lot even for a daily driver tbh. I have a 2020 Honda Civic hatch, it’s my daily and I sometime road trip in it and I only have 30k miles on it

I have 2015 Model S AWD, it has 150k miles on it and it had 247 miles of range brand new and not it can get 214 miles on a full charge
