    For an older person like me, those are definitely very useful feature that makes lot easier and safer. One of my favourite feature is not to worry about the key anymore. When I am within its range, or walk away, it recognises and let me in or lock. That is cool.

    I'm getting my first Tesla delivered in a week. I've watched like 200 different Tesla videos in the last couple weeks, and this was literally the best one of them all. I had no idea all this was possible, and have been stressing about having to interact with the screen for simple things like climate control and windshield wipers. LIKED AND SUBSCRIBED!! 🤩

      Make sure you PPF the rear doors. It’s super easy to do and cost about $30 on Amazon.

    The problem with "Turn on the dome lights" is that when you want them off, you don't say "Turn off the dome lights" because they will no longer turn on when you open the doors, you have to say "Dome lights on Auto" if you want them to turn off, but to still turn on when you open the doors. Kind of a bummer, but that's what you have to do.

    Great job; very helpful. Might you address voice commands that relate to the use of the radio ... and maybe even more about the Spotify and other entertainment options? Changing the options on those items are frequent wants during a drive, and yet one does not want to be distracted by accessing the screen to make the changes.

    You can do it much easier: I say "19", and the climate sets the temperature to 19 (I'm Norway btw). The car understands that I'm thinking of the temprature. Can also just say "wipers", and it turns on. Or just "glovebox", "frunk", "trunk" and so on. Your welcome 😊
    One more thing, or two. You can just press left button on the handel to wipe, and the intervall comes up on screen. And you can set a shortcut to the wipers on the screen. The mirrors can automaticly fold when leaving.

    Great Tips! You don't press and hold the drive stock - just press it and release it. then make the command. I used to hold it too, and it isn't necessary to hold it and it also messes it up sometimes.
    You can also say set temperature to 68 degrees" and "set temperature fan to 5", or 3, etc.
    You can "unfold" mirrors too if you forgot to unfold them before exiting car wash mode.
    You can command "drive" to airport or say "navigate" to...

    For quick wipers (much quicker than voice command) tap the button at the end of the left stalk. If you need them to run after that, the menu is now called up for you to access.

    • @bobautrey65
      @bobautrey65 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      The point of the video wasn't to showcase the fastest way to use Tesla's features but to show how to use voice commands to control them. Volume and temp controls are faster with the thumb controls as well, but again, it's a tutorial on using the vocal commands.

      @@bobautrey65 I got a different vibe due to the many mentions of the difficulty of digging down into the menus and the dangers of same.

    • @AJ-sz7bh
      @AJ-sz7bh ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@darelldd why would manually be doing it be safer in a voice command?

    • @darelldd
      @darelldd ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@AJ-sz7bh Because sometimes the wipers need to be activated quickly. Like when a truck sprays by, or a sudden downpour occurs and reduces your vision through the windscreen to zero. By pressing the end of the stalk, the wipers can be activated in a fraction of a second. Note that activating the wipers via voice command requires several steps and delay:
      1. Press a button and hope that it begins listening and that nobody else in the car is talking.
      2. Speak the command with good diction.
      3. Wait for your words to be processed.
      4. Then the action might be taken if the command was on the list and recognized.
      Using the stalk instead of voice command requires you to only take that first step:
      1. Press a button.
      And then the action is immediate, and does not require interpretation nor delay.

    re music/sources, @8:00 , I think so far searching AND voice commands to "listen to song/artist" only work on "streaming" source, eg Slacker. (I don't have Spotify enabled, might work..)
    You CAN say "listen to " eg "USB" or TuneIn, and it will go RIGHT back to the SAME song/playlist you were listening to before (VERY handy, as switching sources onscreen, gets you back to home screen, lose your place.) Might work for Bluetooth also, though I've had to reconnect manually which phone if not the primary phone.
    You can usually say "listen to 98.5 KROCK" or whatever station or frequency name, to get radio stations, but it's sometimes hit or miss. Sometimes uses FM radio, sometimes uses TuneIn streaming equivalent (fine/handy if far from home!), sometimes doesn't work. Sure nice hands-free though!

    Agreed Tesla has probably the most comprehensive suite of voice controls over all car functions! There is a google sheet listing all 100+ commands!
    PS @3:22 wipers you can do from the left stalk, just push the side/end button... (long press is fluid).... that also brings up the wiper control pop-up menu, so you can quickly set manual speed 1-3 or Auto... faster than digging thru screen menus. Voice also works, as you showed. Also nice for "show tire pressures" or "show odometer" etc, after the holiday UI update that buried those nice little info cards...
    You can also say "help" and it will bring up browser window showing various voice commands.
    I use it often for "google xyz" while driving, if we are wondering about something (price of BMW X5 that just cut me off, or other EV; or translate a street sign/town name etc)... that doesn't always work, but usually has something, pretty nice to learn while driving! (let passenger read browser window, not you!)

    Can you stack multiple voice commands together (such as "make it cooler And increase fan speed") If so how many can you stack? Also can you make custom command profiles? So for example could you make a "park with dog" profile so when you say "park with dog" it'll execute a custom sequence such as: put on the emergency brake, fold in the mirrors, turn on sentry mode, and turn on dog mode?

    Great video! I only have one complaint , well not really a complaint but more like advice. When mentioning assistants such as Google or Siri, try to refrain from using the trigger words in the video or edit the words out. You activate our smart home devices when you use the trigger words during the video. Thanks again for the great content.

    Informative video. While I've owned luxury vehicles before taking delivery of my model three, the car's intelligence is amongst one of the reasons I also love it. Tesla is simply in a league of its own.

    Model S does the folded mirrors and windshield wipers much easily if you have a few years older. I noticed the model 3 and Y on screen commands can be too much to activate windshield wipers etc. Great Video.

    I’m very pleased that you have a car where the voice commands work but I gave up on my S years ago. The common commands work sometimes but the car often repeats the command as text CORRECTLY - then does something completely different.

    Cool! I learned commands that I will use! BTW, if I hold the button down while I speak and release it when I'm done, it's a bit faster because the car doesn't need to wait a short amount of time after my last word to figure out that I'm done.

    Thank you for your calm voice and straightforward, brief descriptions. You surely must have been following a script, or you are WAY BETTER than the average bear at delivering in an informative, concise manner. NICE JOB!! I will subscribe and search out your videos when I get my new Tesla. 💕

      Yay! Be sure when you’re ready that you take advantage of the FREE FSD and up to $1000 off by using the link in my description. BTW; I rarely use a script to sound natural, record as if I’m speaking to someone.

    I'm on my 3rd tesla, so I clearly love it enough to stay on it. It's good for just about everything except for
    1. repairs past warranty
    2. repairs, period
    3. delivery (my first delivery was a mess, second delivery was a nightmare, and the third just now, had me contemplating going back to the car dealer mafia/cartel)
    4. voice command that's barely catching up to voice control 20 years ago
    5. regressing UI (software update keep on stuffing vital functions deeper and deeper in the menu)...which is horrible in conjunction with 4.
    But, thanks, good job selling it :D

      Why do keep buying them? Also name any vehicle that had voice command 20 years ago.

      Acuras had awesome voice controls 20 years ago. Tesla is still catching up after 15 years. It just boggles my mind. I can get awesome autopilot, but I can't get voice control that works.

    My favorite command is "keep the climate". I have been using voice commands for two years now.
    There are third party apps that I use with Siri Shortcuts and Alexa routines in order to perform some complicated automations with my Model Y. I love talking to all of my devices because they do what I say and rarely complain about it.
    You made a great informative video BTW!

    • @JustFrugalMe
      @JustFrugalMe  ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess I love that one as well. On some of the commands I wouldn’t know how to do it manually I’m just so used to doing the voice controls. Lol
