  • The Archon Type B. A gun I've wanted to get my hands on since it first came out. It's an odd beast, filled with lots of unique features. Some of the features I love and find very effective, and some, while I find cool, don't necessarily add a ton of value to the gun. Curious to hear your thoughts.

This trigger description is spot on. I don't feel or notice the tendin activator when I shot. The grip texture, honestly I wish it was more aggressive. I love this gun more than my glock and its my new carry. For now!

Looks solid and at about the same price point as buying a Glock and fixing sights/trigger/stipling as you mentioned. I had no idea there was any exaggerated marketing, so whether or not it lives up to that hype isn't a factor. Thanks for the review!

I like fiber optic, in a night setting with a light your not going to see anything but the outline of the sight regardless. If your not using a light your not shooting at night. However in low light with no flashlight a tritium sight would be great.

I have two archons and I’ve shot them for close to two years. I’v cut the beaver tail off on both, and one of them has talon pro grip on it. Both have red dots. I cut the beaver tail off because of the way I pull the gun from my holster beaver tails just get in the way for me. Aside from that I liked the beaver tail. I think personally it feels flatter than a Glock. The trigger does feel mushy but the trigger is great feeling. The safety built into the trigger works like a rocker rather than an extra thorn digging into your finger. The way the trigger works is my favorite part, the way the striker works is my least. The mag release being able to be reversed by inserting the magazine backwards is a gimmick and a flaw in my opinion. I’ve inserted a mag backwards once in a training course. I tried to correct the issue quickly and the release didn’t fall out it got logged and I couldn’t even insert a mag and hold it in place. I ended up needing to use a punch to get it un fked. Glocks are better for a multitude of reasons but I carry my archon because I shoot it better, like it more and it’s aesthetically pleasing. Another thing the archon has too many parts glocks are the superior gun in my opinion. But archon is doing something right, I love these guns and I’m hoping for a gen 2 with improvements. My first pistol, my main is nearing the 5k mark for rounds.

  • @expendedenthusiasm

No one like "night sights" because their inherent advantage comes from a very small time frame of the day and at a cost of less precise point of aim. If its actual pitch black shooting night sights will make zero difference as the biggest advantage you can have will be a good weapon light and you shouldn't be shooting without positive ID anyways. The people who like them the most are tactical goobers who need a placebo and won't just buy an outright pistol RDS.
