- Here is my 2022 Blender challenge. I am being ask a lot these days, on how to convert a photogrammetry, drone acquired model of a building, in a clean, re-topologized model, suitable for game assets. The problem is, I don't own a drone and have no examples of this to work on. So, I challenge you, to provide a model and I will build a tutorial around it. I will also send you the finished model, once I have completed and published the tutorial.
If you are interested in this Blender challenge, then please get in touch with me by emailing: info@turningturnip.co.uk.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards, James
UPDATE (27-01-2023) : Okay, I didn't use a drone after all, but the results are the same. You can now watch the hi-poly, to low-poly clean mesh in my new Photogrammetry tutorial video: • Hi-Poly Photogrammetry... - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Please do check out the description for this video for details on how to contact me. Your model could become the feature of my next tutorial! And, of course, I will give you a shout out in the video as way of thanks.
Looking forward to this! You've helped me a lot to get down a workflow that suits me. Stay safe, man. Love your work!!!
Thanks Humble Hornet!
there are few websites where you can download LIDAR data , convert them with LAS tools then use them in Blender , I actually did sthg similar for a project at univ
Thanks Mahdi. I did take a look at a few models. They were all quite low resolution. Perhaps I was looking in the wrong place? The other issue is copyright. To be on the safe side, I would rather work on something that I have express permission for this tutorial. Also, I thought it might be a good idea to stick to purely photogrammetry imaging, as this has been the common request. It would make sense to work on a model that had been captured using this method. Many thanks for your thoughts on this. I will certainly look into your suggestion. In the meantime, if you know of anyone who might want to get involved, please do let me know :)
@@blenderbones hello , I've sent you some ressources over the email you provided in the description box , feel free to use it as you please and good luck with your 2022 blender challenge (tried twice uploading links in the comments here but no luck)
@@financyTN Many thanks for this. Sorry for the delay. We have just had a week's holiday in the UK to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's 70 years on the throne. I will take a look.
Finally got round to it. Watch the full video here: th-cam.com/video/Ct2hFv5rzWk/w-d-xo.html
