I KNOW I KNOW, Timo used Maya.. but it made for a better title OK?! Haha let a brother ride the algorithm!!!
Ok, the video is awesome though 😄
Still a little misleading, I was excited to see a proffesional dive into blender, and see their opinions.
"The Algorithm" is the name of my eyeball
For a moment I thought he was using HardOPs for hard surface modelling, a paid add-in for Blender. Kind of simplifies the operations in just a few buttons(some of them just one) and makes it work almost exactly like Maya(?).
Oh, you mean the South Park software?
3 hours guy: laughing with chat
3 weeks guy: proud of himself
3 years guy: dead inside
3 year guy was once the 3 hour guy
6 years guy here... will to live lost

same applies for developers lol
Hahaha it was 2 am for me by the end of it, bedtime for me is like 11
Timo's keyboard clicking is like a

this is the most accurate description

Or like one of those world class RTS players
those keyboard shortcuts are so useful when you know them lol
Can Do Thatcher in 2 hours in sketchup
3 hours guy: Drag, move, figures out a few key binds
3 weeks guy: Drag, move, uses key binds

SUBDIVIDE
he sounds like a sweat at blender tbf
3 years guy: th-cam.com/video/6oMUiZXYQC4/w-d-xo.html
@Nieosl he used maya actually
It scares me a little that the happiness that each person can express is inversely proportional to the experience they have
It probably has to do with how Timo has 3d modeling as his job, and how the other two are constantly having new experiences while using the program
Yeah it's that one effect or whatever
Why does that scare you?
@@MrBeenus because the better you are at something the less you enjoy it since you spot more imperfections than improvements even though you have gotten insanely good at it.
@@kratosgodofwar777 What about that is scary?
the three weeks guy is really good for only learning blender for 3 weeks
To be fair it was 3 weeks all day everyday! But thanks :)
yeah. that was awesome for the time spent.
Also I have been using Blender for 4 years now. And no way close to Timo
@@isto_inc That's insanely good man! Keep grinding!
@@yochintohere same here, used it for 3 years and definetly can't do that

The 3 weeks guy is the true MVP, he actually did a pretty nice job for his experience.
true i really liked his grip better thens the pros
Actually yeah the 3 week guy did a good job but also consider the fact they had only 3 hours of time... The pro is a pro he would have created a realistic gun if had more time
Yeah. This was like watching gaming consoles if they were peoples blender skills. Playstation Vs. Xbox. Vs. PC
Playstation: "Poly is all i need."
xbox: "got that fat trigger finger."
PC. "click, click click, click click click, click.... click."
Exactly.
It’s because he used bolleans, which are pretty bad for modelling. Mostly used to blockout and design.
Please ask Timo to release the footage of him making the gun, it would be such a goldmine for us 3D students.
Or basically everybody who wants learn 3d modeling.
Omg yes please
please ask
3D students? Im just trying to build a gun
Take a peep at this twitch vod
Timo was like a blender god. He said let there be gun, and there was gun.
Technically, he was using Autodesk Maya, but other than that, agreed
Yeah but not better than atrioc who did it at the beginning but restarded to be faiplay 🗿
he's a maya god though
Its maya
Lol😂😂
My favorite part of this was that the guy with 3 years of experience was using Maya.
It made for a better title ok??! Haha

For real though coming from only 3 hours of learning Blender, being able to do much of ANYTHING is impressive. It's quite the complex program
Pfft... I recreated Avatar 2 in like, 3 days using blender and a ball mouse. On my P3 no less.

@@cyrelgaum1967 Your nose serves you well. I literally just said that I single handedly recreated a 3 hour long movie that thousands of people worked on for years, by myself, on freaking Blender and this other ding-dong actually thought I was being serious. And maybe you as well but at least you gave yourself some room to back out of this one and didn't go all in and make a huge ass of yourself because literally *ANY FUCKING ONE* would immediately realize that this was not only a joke but a lousy troll of a joke at that.
@@Pan_radomiak How long will it take you to learn how to write a sentence?
"expedrience?"
"concidering?"
Those aren't even words, dude. Also, punctuation is your friend. Use more of it so people at least have a chance at understanding your ridiculous excuses of an attempt at trying to communicate. I've been 3D modeling since the late 90's and thought that anyone with more than a few brain cells would get the *obvious* joke but I always forget that there's plenty of people like you who are ready and willing to make huge asses of themselves for millions to see. The worst part is that even after you had to edit your own comment, it's still all fucked up. 😆
Ewes huck, buddy. Ewes huck.
3 YEARS OF BLENDER *uses Maya*
the 3 hour guy was destined to fail
He clearly didnt complete the Guru donut tutorial
Agreed. It’s a rite of passage.
i also didnt complete the tutorial by guru... i made my donut using cggeeks 1 minute donut

3 weeks? thats inspiration. obviously, different people learn at different speeds but thats inspirational
@@vexpoopoo well he did ONLY learn blender for those 3 weeks, didnt do anything else, he mentioned it in another comment, a regular dude would probably have a couple hours a day
the first guy was just having fun
It's the 11:26 "Dissolve faces, wait is that going to fuck up my textures? Oh shit is way better..."
that shit is too funny
i cant believe he spent 3 years making a gun. Amazing!
hahahahahha lol
This is a perfect demonstration of how much your workflow speeds up when you know keyboard shortcuts. Timo's hands are flying and shapes change and move exactly how he wants instantly, it's amazing.
I can confirm that I've been using Solidworks professionally for 4-8 hours daily for around a year. I use as many keyboard shortcuts and hotkeys as possible, which speeds things up tremendously.
Watching some of my older coworkers use Solidworks is almost excruciating because I'm not sure they know more than 3 or 4 hotkeys. Digging through menus and submenus for UI elements takes so much longer; it turns a 4-hour drawing into a 6-hour drawing.
4:36
its like playing a game of starcraft
at least 1 of them had a lot of fun XD
Working around in Blender for 2 years and a half as a hobbyist(for the moment), I can say that Atrioc's modelling felt excruciatingly painful lol. I swear I got my ears ringing each time he mentioned subdivide xD
It made me realize that I was in the same boat at that point in time, and how much my skills improved as time went on.
I can't even make the feckin doughnut. And I know how to use fusion360 to make functional parts for 3d printing. I just don't understand how blender works at all.
@@skellious Use 3ds max, it's easier to grasp.
@@skellious the donut tutorial really isnt that hard to follow xd
@@nothanks1508 it really isn't x'D
That being said, when i first got into blender and was forced to use 2.78 i got extremely confused by an overwhelming amount of dots (vertices).
The key is understanding what you're looking at, followed by time = experience.
The thing that made me understand blender instantly (i was lucky enough to have blender 2.8 release like a few days after getting into it) was understanding what polygons were, in terms of blender for who ever doesn't understand them, 1 vertex can be extruded to make 2 vertices, they're connected by an edge, when you extrude that edge you'll end up with your face, your face being your polygon, theres more that goes into it, but keeping it light that's all you need to know.
Also, knowing the keybinds is kinda crucial for workflow and speed.
@@skellious Having used both (but definitely more Parametric than Geometric) I can confirm that Parametric modeling is way more intuitive if you have some sort of mechanical, fabrication, or manufacturing background.
I could make a 1-1 recreation of a Glock in Solidworks or Onshape if I had one and a pair of calipers in front of me within a working day. Ask me to do what these guys did and it'd take me weeks at a minimum.
I learned how to use Blender like 4 years ago, used it maybe 10 times. The 3 hours guy honestly impressed me.
This was rad! I'd love more content like this :D
Another great video keep up the work and i cant wait for the next game, video, or anything else you guys make.

That Beginner dude is awesome. That's the attitude you need to get better. Just have fun lol
Honestly, everyone did a really good job. I unironically love the direction Atrioc went with, very immersive sim of him.
i like this type of video.. shows the beginners that they create what beginners create..nothing to get down on but to just keep practicing pusshing foward! cool content!
Came here straight from atrioc’s video. Downloading atrio now and cannot wait to play ❤
Watching Atrioc is so much fun. The funny trials as beginners is hilarious but he's enjoying the process and so do I.
Watching Stephen makes me relate with him. Seeing progress from a previously learned tutorial feels exciting!
Watching Timo is very satisfying. Everything works to perfectionn. I want to get to that point! Inspiring!
It was fun!
The first newcomer has so much courage :) . I'm afraid to press an extra button
Unless it literally crashes blender you can basically just do whatever and ctrl z when something goes terribly wrong
15:11 honestly beginner's render looking 10/10
Timo if you're reading this, you've gotta do more modeling videos man! There's just not as much Maya creators on TH-cam as there are Blender, and it'd be sick to see what else you can model in a short amount of time. I actually learned a lot about your process just from the short clips you showed.
It's very intresting seeing different approaches to these models
The 3yr guy wasn’t using blender
3week guy was very impressive
3hr guy was for comic relief 😂
i am actually going to school for 3d modeling and its cool to see where everyone is at. I've totally been at Atrioc's level and feel I'm a bit above where Stephen is at. as someone who learns in maya i actually really appreciate seeing it be used at such a high level and i feel ive learned a fare bit from this video. keep up the good work
good luck when the a. i comes for the modellers the same way it has already eaten the graphic artist and copy writers lunch
timos work is literally jaw dropping, by the far the biggest dopamine hit ever
bro made the block 19 💀
watching the professional immediately shake his head and go "Booleans bad!!!" was so vindicating to me because i think i said those exact words halfway into this video lmao
great video shocked it doesn't have more views!
I love how the 3 week and 3 year actually looks like a Glock, but the 3 hour just looks like a drawing I'd make when i was 3.
Love the 3 hours guy. Hilarious! Most fun I have had in months.
I always enjoy seeing a professional doing things only a professional can do so well
May we all have the fun and enthusiasm of the 3 hour guy and mastery of the 3 year professional
the speed of timo editing is just crazy... nice!!
This was very enjoyable. Would love to see more like this!
Loved the video, glad it came up in my recommended. Subbed
oh yea I loved all 3 models, for 3 weeks that was a great piece. Pro did really well it just shows how fast I need to become to get in the industry.
Cool Challenge! Can't wait for 3 Hours vs. 3 Years of Animation!
(You have to animate the Glock they made firing and reloading)
gotta love the energy and fun the first guy is having.
shop like a billionaire, timo timo...shop like a billionaire
3 weeks as well as 3 years have a genuine gun shaped model.
3 hours with a blob: I'M COOKIIIIING
haha
15:03 no sarcastic sh but it's actually my favorite like he's not trying to make it looks like the real thing, he's just having fun with it, trying out new things and it actually looks really funny too and especially since i used to love gaming and it looks very gamery
the guy with 3 years of experience was litteraly speedrunning blender
watching timo work is amazing
Timo wasn't even finished at modeling and it already looks real
bro this needs more attention even though its only been 50 mins
I actually really do like the different levels of mastery in these types of videos, I have ZERO interest in this topic that I was skipping around a lot but it was VERY cool!!! Especially the ending haha do more please 😊
the sheer insanity of watching a pro at work is mind boggling. actually makes me hate everything. HOW DOES HE KNOW AND UNDERSTAND EVERY FUCKING BUTTON AND WHAT IT DOES?!!
“How do I bend it like Beckem?” Got me laughing so hard 😂
the 3 week guy is rlly good
i didnt believe he can just make like the 3 years one
I like creating hobbyist level music and looked into making animated videos with Blender: there's no way I could! It would simply take all the remaining time I have- it's so intense and powerful. So therefore, I don't have any good videos; I'll have to start using a camera and other people eventually, but, it will still be less time consuming than learning Blender. HUGE props to the Blender folks;they seem to be constantly improving this very powerful application. To anyone that really takes the time to get great at Blender- you have my enduring respect and admiration!!
Timo is making me want to force myself to work on my 3D skills every day for years on end until I can call myself worthy of holding the title of 3D designer.
Cruelty Squad would hire Atrioc immediately
And this is the perfect example why CGI is so Expensive. great job guys.
I loved this. 3 week guy did an amazing job!! 3 hour guy was just having the most fun.
i just realized your gun only had detail on one side lmao
Shhhhh no one has to know lol
I like how the more professional they are the less socially adjusted they are.
I greatly enjoy using the blender; thank you for your video. It has been an excellent tutorial for me.
Love the content guys! Great job. Though i failed this during school, i would have loved to learn this if i was to ever re-do school lmao
The 3 hour guy was so funny
im a simple man. I see Atrioc, I like.

really the first gun made by the Biggner was fucking badass it was looking like a premium skin from games. keep up bro nice content.
Kudos to the intermediate dude, another few weeks at it and he will be a master!!

This was literally me through my time in learning Blender XD. Each level fits perfectly with how I developed my technical skills.

It's funny to remember that I was the same as Atrioc, just a wave of nostalgia.
when someone’s keyboard shortcut strokes are so fast they sound like they’re typing full sentences (timo) - that’s really all you need to know about how good they are at a program
Crazy how much work goes into just making the gun. Imagine a whole game lol

I've never seen one of your videos, never used blender either but this is so funny I watched the whole thing!
Honestly the beginner did pretty well considering he'd only learnt for 3 hours, his approach to getting what he wanted without knowing how to do it is impressive
Sty but i lost it in “who remembers the command on how to extrude?” 😂
12:20 Seeing him destroy hours of work in an instant made me laugh so hard.

Hey, I actually learned off some stuff from this video.
On my stage I try to figure out how to work with the model itself: how to rig it, how to unwrap it, how to texture it and etc.. Watching how Timo worked, I actually now truly understand: substance painter topples anything.
Thanks for the video.
