I would love a video on preventing depressed scars, if that's even possible. I have my acne mostly under control, but still occasionally get pimples that turn into depressed scars even though I don't pick at them. Just from healing normally, it seems.

Scar Away worked wonders on my thyroidectomy scar. I used both the gel and strips alternatively. My scar was high on my neck. I scar dark with my olive skin. Rather than a disfiguring wound on my neck like my appendectomy I just have a lavender line. I'll also now try the centella.

I have been using the advanced silicone scar gel from Amazon (it was rated highly) on some raised scars I have and I really like it. I have tried scar away but I know I didn't keep it up as long as I should have. Thanks for this video!

WOW! I wish I’d had all this information when I had emergency surgery for an abscess in my throat! I was left with an open, gaping wound that I was forced to leave open as long as possible, resulting in a long, wide, thick, angry red scar! Or when I had to have two collapsed disks removed through a long incision in the other side of my neck! decades later, I still look like I was the victim of a violent crime!

Wow talk about timing. I had knee surgery a few weeks ago and have a lovely scar as a result. My physical therapist recommended vitamin E but I will try the HA instead. Thanks!

Her answer was, and I quote, "Differin is FDA approved for acne. If it is helping your ance, then there is no benefit to switching to tretinoin. If it is not helping, switching to tretinoin may or may not make a difference. Tretinoin is the only retinoid that is FDA approved for wrinkles, & has more data for improving photoaging than Differin."

I have used Differin and currently use Tretinoin. I started with Differin for acne control and it worked so well for me. Reasons I made the switch was for the data backed benefits tretinoin has for both acne and anti-aging.

I know that Differin definitely works better for me for acne than tret does. Tretinoin will enable you to enjoy anti aging effects sooner but I think the outcome of both retinoids will be smiliar if not the same in the long run. They both stimulate collagen.
Me too. Had a great plastic surgeon do the procedure as it was right on my cheek. He did a great job but I still have a scar :(. Plus I am riddled with skin cancer so I am staring to look like Swiss cheese. I have found lasers do lessen their appearance but the cost is prohibitive to me most of the time. It’s a constant battle.

I adopted a kitten whose been scratching the heck outta me and every scratch I get turns into a dark mark after healing. It's so frustrating lol but by using tretinoin and keeping them moisturized they slowly fade. Need to get better at the sunscreen tho! Great vid!

@@crazynath7 no, but what I'm doing now makes the scars form smaller: LED/infrared mask, tretinoin, salicylic acid, copper peptides, and dapsone gel.

@@crazynath7 i use pimple patches. It disolves the top of the pimple, but also keeps the wound protected and moist, so it heals better.
Some people would go for FO2 laser treatment for depressed scars especially from acne

CVS Silicone Scar Gel is great. I saw improvement when applying to old surgical scars.
The CVS product is called “CVS Health Daily Scar Treatment Serum.” It contains 100% medical grade silicone. Great stuff for $20.

Laser therapy...only option for old scars ...those treatments only effective on new scars
I used the Stratia Liquid Gold moisturizer last year. That one also has plenty of sea buckthorn oil.
