Hi Dr. Shreene. Please don’t pay attention to negative comments. Your intro and calling out the skin nerds is wonderful if someone thinks the intro is to long, they should learn how to fast forward. You are awesome, appreciated and have the best advice. Thank you for taking your time to give us excellent advice. ❤️Michele Fitzpatrick

Yes, please. I have been recommended fraxel laser. I would appreciate hearing your recommendations and insights. We are very fortunate to have your generous sharing of information. Thank you, Dr. Shereene Idriss! Sending you much love and gratitude.
Also would like to know how to tackle it for those with darker skin tones, I’ve heard that lasers could worsen (the pigmentation) it. But then I’ve heard that it’s effective as well.
I love how detailed your videos are! And love the longer videos too 😊 would love a video on textured scarring and in office procedures for PIH and scarring
A video on how to treat dark stained armpit will totally help. I also just want to say that your knowledge and recommendations has transformed my cystic acne to beautiful clear skin. Hi Dr. Idriss 3 questions. When to start botox, if ever? Do you recommend facials, and if so, what kind? What laser treatments do you recommend to keep skin youthful?
Another dr from Taiwan recommends to start Botox treatment at your late 20s or early 30s when you first started to see wrinkles or sagging problems. I personally suggest dual yellow laser, any pico laser for basic treatment, if you need something stronger, you may consider Thermage FLX
Yes please do a video on textural scars! I've had 2 RF microneedling treatments but sadly without great results. And I have darker skin, fitzpatrick 4-5, so I'm not sure about lasers. Hearing what you have to say would be wonderful!

Hypochlorus acid is so underrated! After learning about it through you and trying it (especially spraying my mask I wear 9-10 hours a day), I got everyone at my job using it because of how great it is haha.
Another great and informative video! Thank you!!! And yes please can you do a video on textured acne scars? This is very helpful! Currently struggling with PIE on my temples, and some of the ingredients you’ve mentioned were things I never knew would work. Currently using niacinamide. Would try some of the things you mentioned! Thank u for this!
I really like how you include pieces of information from the medical side of the topic. I actually really AM a science nerd so I love doctors who don't speak to their audience like we are all unable to comprehend anything past the 5th grade level, lol. So, thank you for that!
Hi Dr. Shereene, I am a final year medical student and I have always been interested in dermatology but watching your videos has made me very determined to pursue dermatology as my speciality after medical school. Thank you for making such amazing and informative videos based on facts and verified data. How can I do my elective under your supervision? Where do I apply? It would be a dream come true! :)
Hi Shereene, thanks again for a lovely video! I was wondering whether some of the products you mentioned for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation would also work on other parts of the body. Last summer, I accidentally poured some boiling water on myself and got a second-degree burn on my thigh. It cured nicely but I now have a 20x5cm darker spot on my thigh. I’m guessing it, too, is due to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation? After getting the burn I took a lot of care not to expose it to the sun at all and then, luckily, we went into winter! But the spot is still there despite it being months since the accident happened. Any help is appreciated ❤️ PS: I love that you actually explain to us the pathophysiology of different conditions and then explain how the various cosmetic/chemical compounds work to tackle the issues 👏🏼

I knew a woman many MANY years ago 😂 who suffered with deep, acne scarring (my husband has a few but he can hide behind a beard 😊) and she had a procedure done that was like sanding the face. I don't recall what it was called and the healing the process was a while. It looked scary, I won't deny but then it healed and WOW it was amazing how much better she looked. It had taken up so much visual space in her appearance I honestly didn't know what she really looked like! What a difference this made to her confidence which was the best benefit of the whole procedure. She threw an abusive husband to the curb, landed a great job and went on to enjoy a so much better life. It was astounding what a difference this procedure made in her life. I would even go so far as to say it was the best investment she ever made. I do think creams can help but if the scarring is severe I do think it's worth investing in the procedure in a derms office if it's affordable.
Thanks for the video, as always informative! The ordinary also has a nice alpha arbutin. Tropicals/Faded has a cocktail serum/cream that is very good for PIH, it’s also hydrating. ☺️
Your videos are extremely helpful! I got a prescription strength azeliac acid after watching your video on the topic. I have PIH and use vitamin C, niacinamide, azelaic acid and sunscreen in the morning and retinol in the evening. Anything I should change/add to make it even more effective? I’m so tired of my PIH… 🙈❤️
After watching a previous video of yours I realized that the dryness and dehydration in my skin was being caused by hyaluronic acid so I’m cutting it from my routine. My skin is naturally slightly oily so I usually go for gels, gel creams, or water creams because it doesn’t feel as heavy but I can’t find any really good ones that actually keep my skin moisturized at a *decent* price. Could you do a video on good moisturizer for different skin types?
But who are you Dr. Shereene Idriss? Are you a licensed cosmetic dermatologist based in NYC? I wouldn’t know since you didn’t mention it in your into 😉 I’ll give that comment the benefit of the doubt that they were trying to be constructive and not hurtful… but I love your intros and never once thought they were too long (for what my opinion is worth)
Dr. Idriss, you are by far the most amazing derm on the you tube. please keep what you are doing. Love your work and cant wait to see meet you in person.
Thank you again for another informative video, love slowly being educated while hungover in bed : ) Would love to know more about long-term textured scars, as i've had an acne scar on my nose since I was about 15 that's slightly raised and often becomes more red : (
This video was so so so helpful! Thank you! I would love to see a video on texture scars, there's not too many well informed, and reliable videos out there for what to do about them. Thank you for a great video!
I was waiting for you to cover this topic! Thank you so much!! I was wondering when in your routine you would incorporate hypochlorous acid? Before: instead of toner? Can you also spray it on throughout the day on top of your sunscreen? Thanks so much in advance!
I miss you calling “skin nerdsss!!!”, it's not in the intro! 🥺 But the whole video is great and informative as always! God bless!!! I would Love to meet you in person. Sending all my love from Philippines ❤️
For the past few years I've had pretty bad acne on the tops of my arms and my shoulders. My scarring can be pigmented red in some places and brown in others. Is it ok to mix the treatments for each or would that cause more problems? Thanks! P.s. this video was super helpful!
Hi!!! You’re amazing and I want to thank you so much for sharing all of your tips, trick, and knowledge with us. So much information that is available to the consumers is either false or way too confusing. You simplify it in the most amazing way. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I would like to suggest two topics for future videos. Two issues that my husband deals with are bumps from shaving, now that he is going back to the office more often, and can no long wear his beloved beard. The second is a long time struggle with folliculitis on his head. Before we met he thought it was psoriasis, but it’s clearly not, which is why the over the counter treatments for psoriasis were not working. Any suggestions would be amazing! Again love, love, love your videos and you because you’re so genuine and happy. Your videos make me smile and keep me motivated/entertained while doing my skin care routine.
Hi! I’m always wondering which products to apply (and not) to eye area. It seems like you don’t apply sunscreen or vitamin c, retinol but those are the places I feel I need those most. 👁❤️
you can put vitamin c around the eye area and you definitely should put sunscreen around your eyes! as for retinol, i’ve watched dr. shereene’s video (i forgot which one) but basically you can dilute the retinol with your moisturizer to make it less strong for the eye area
Cystic acne scars here!! I would love information on improving texture. Thank you so much for ALL your informational videos. They help me so much…as I am sure they do others. You are so appreciated!!!
I'm so so grateful for all your videos! I've been binge-watching them for the last fortnight and I've learned SO much! I completely overhauled my skincare routine based on your recommendations and advice, and someone already (unprompted) said my skin is looking good. I'd LOVE a video on hollowing under the eyes. I feel like as I'm ageing, my tear troughs are losing volume and it's the main thing that's bothering me. I was wondering if there are any products that can improve it. A lot of the ones I've seen are hyaluronic acid-based, which I now know is not a great ingredient.
Hi Shereene! I was wondering, does hydroquinone (like in Ambi cream) fade red post-acne marks? I know it's advertised to fade brown spots but does it work on red spots too or is another ingredient better for that? Thank you!
You should check with the glass test that dr Idriss showed us if your redness is made up of pigment or bloodvessels. If the red marks are make up of pigment hydroquinone will probably work because its a tyrosinase inhobitor so it stops the production of melanin. :)

You are not just helping our skin, you are helping a combination-supersensitive soul like me living in a humid tropical country of the PH --- with my mental health by understanding the complexity of skin and the things than can and can't help em ♥️🙏🏼
First of all you are so genuine and down to earth. Yes please, another video about acne saucer and pic scars.
Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️

Please make a video about textured scars ... especially in places where its hard to treat like the nose!
Redness/PIE:
Niacinamide (3-5%)
Centella Asiatica
zinc helps reduce inflammation
Azaleic acid (15% gel ideal)
Brown spots/ PIH:
azaleic acid
lactic acid
glycolic acid
basically for me try get aza
Yesssss! Weekend means new video!
Any help is appreciated ❤️
PS: I love that you actually explain to us the pathophysiology of different conditions and then explain how the various cosmetic/chemical compounds work to tackle the issues 👏🏼
Sunscreen first
11:42 hydroquinone effective
But seems to need under dermatologist supervision
Pass for now
-----
12:20 exfoliating serum (before moisturizer)
Use after retinol if still not enough
- but don’t use w retinoid
Sugai said in general don’t mix leave on exfoliant w retinoid
Unless it’s part of formulation/company found a way chemically to combine the 2, like skinbeteer but that uses tretinoin and he believes tret should still be supervised by a derma
----
13:15 arbutin
Pot pregnancy cheese
Also is precursor to hydroquinone the thing that she said do under derma supervision so don’t do for now
----
14:37 vit C helps minimize how much pigment forms
15:00 -- acid (oral dont use)
15:50 retinol/retinoid (stronger ver)
16:10 these 2 before she recommended are over the counter and just as strong as prescription tretinoin
If sensitive use a retinol instead
- la roche is 0.1%
Sugai recommends 0.25% or higher
So this la roche is a nice one when just starting out not so strong, and can slowly try it out
----
16:20 is opposite/ lighter spots
Eladel? This is where she mentions cortisol and thinning skin stuff
But this isn’t for me
15:00 tranexamic acid*
Hey Kathleen, thank you for sharing. Do you know the name of the treatment?
@@MsLovication Hi Green Gold! Sorry but it was decades ago and I honestly can't recall - I want to say "dermabrasion" but I can't be 100% sure.
I’m definitely hyped for a video on scars and texture! :)
Thanks for the video, as always informative! The ordinary also has a nice alpha arbutin. Tropicals/Faded has a cocktail serum/cream that is very good for PIH, it’s also hydrating. ☺️
You're amazing! This video could not come at a better time! Thank you for sharing!
Your routine sounds great! Keep it up :)
what brands do you use ? for vitamin c, niacinamide
Vitamin C from Skinceuticals and niacinamide from Glossier
I used their C E Ferulic
This was great, can’t wait for the texture video! My pores often get clogged and if I pick I will 100 % get an effing ice pick scar! Heeelp!
Could you do a video on good moisturizer for different skin types?
i love your long videosssss it deserveee it
But who are you Dr. Shereene Idriss? Are you a licensed cosmetic dermatologist based in NYC? I wouldn’t know since you didn’t mention it in your into 😉
I’ll give that comment the benefit of the doubt that they were trying to be constructive and not hurtful… but I love your intros and never once thought they were too long (for what my opinion is worth)
Dr. Idriss, you are by far the most amazing derm on the you tube. please keep what you are doing. Love your work and cant wait to see meet you in person.
Thank you again for another informative video, love slowly being educated while hungover in bed : )
Would love to know more about long-term textured scars, as i've had an acne scar on my nose since I was about 15 that's slightly raised and often becomes more red : (
This video was so so so helpful! Thank you! I would love to see a video on texture scars, there's not too many well informed, and reliable videos out there for what to do about them. Thank you for a great video!
Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️

Hey late response but did you ens of getting rid of the marks?
Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️

Your channel is one of the best things I've found recently. Thank you!
WHY DOES LIVING HAS TO BE SO HARDDD 😭

Would love a video on textural acne scars as that's what I struggle with most!
Your skin nerd army loves you and think your intro is perfect! You teach us so much! Don’t change a thing ♥️♥️
