I also like the Purito Centella Green Level Recovery Cream! It soothes redness and irritation instantly. Fun fact: Centella is known as Tiger Grass because tigers will instinctively roll in this grass after fights to soothe their wounds. So cool!
I bought it and it breaks me out for some reason and I don't really break out! So I just use it on my neck and hands. It feels so nice so that made me sad!
That stuff literally repaired my skin in three days flat! I had an allergic reaction to a new sunscreen I tried, and my skin began to CRACK!!! I went out and bought the Calm and Restore cream IMMEDIATELY, and thank God I did!!!👍🏼💖
I just started using it and I love it so far too! In addition to it seeming to have a nice hydrating effect on my skin, it's super luxurious to apply, it feels and smells so nice. Some fragrance-free products have what I can only describe as a drugstore skincare smell, but this stuff somehow smells sweet and lovely (in a very subtle way). I do find that I have to use a lot of it, but my skin is very dehydration-prone.
I also like the Cicaplast Mains hand cream for winter! It doesn’t have centella, but it’s kept my hands from cracking and it’s great for daytime bc it’s not greasy on the hands

I apply LRP Cicaplast baume before Azelaic Acid and it saves my face from irritation. Life savior. I have tried Azelaic on top of another moisturizer and it irritated my skin.
@@VendetaI Is it better to apply it before? Does it not dimimish the power of azelaic too much? Im struggling to use high strenght azelaic at the moment without developing dermatitis from dryness it creates.
I did not know that the aveno oat gel moisturizer had centella asiatica. That's wonderful as I can now go from 2 products (the ampoule she mentioned and a moisturizer) to one. Thanks dr dray for saving me time and money
I have rosacea and the Aveeno oatmeal products are amazing for me lately, they really help tone down the burning discomfort I feel when I touch my face, and they aren't heavy at all, which also helps with stinging I feel with a lot of moisturizers that are thick! Such a great recommendation, so grateful you pointed those out.
I strongly recommend the iunik centella gel! it absorbs quick into your skin, leaving your skin hydrated and juicy. I have combination skin that's also sensitive and acne prone, I got it last summer to try it out and it really calmed down my inflammation and helped with scarring combined with a good sunscreen
I love La Roche Posay Cicaplast, it saved my skin after a reaction from salycilic acid wash, it was red, bumpy and it burned. Other moisturizer actually burned even more this was the only one that just sat nicely on my skin and after 4 days my skin was back to normal. This was wonderful! I use it as a night cream now, and my skin always looks beautiful and feels hydrated in the morning
Assalaam Alaikum everyone. I have my coffee ready, lol. Let’s roll with the awesome Dr. Dray. Have a great day everyone. Lots of love from California. ❤️❤️❤️
I thought about getting it, but bought the purito unscented toner instead because it is more affordable. I like the toner, it helps redness and irritation. Great for my oily/acne prone sensitive skin
I love their centella products, I use their peptide serum (staple item that I just love so much), eye cream and sunscreen. I love that many of the products are available in both scented and unscented ❤️
One thing to note about the Aveeno oat gel moisturizer is that it doesn't play nicely with sunscreens because of the silicones. It causes pilling like crazy!! Just a word of caution it's best used in the evening.
I love the Cicaplast Baume B5 !!! I have rosacea and my skin loves this Balm! I put it all over my face as a last step at the end- my skin is very dry and this helped me to get better skin. This balm calms my rosacea down, if I get a flush, I put it on my cheeks and the redness is GONE! I would recommend it to everyone who had rosacea, just try it out.. maybe you like it as much as I do.. :)
Do u use it regularly it day( to go out) and night in summers too? Can i use it as a moisturizer and apply sunscreen over it? How much time does it take to heal... ? I have dry rosacea
I bought the Aveeno Oat Gel Moisturizer based on your recommendation from a previous video. Love this stuff. It's been really helpful for irritation that pops up for my oily and rosacea prone skin. Plus its humid here in New Orleans so heavier moisturizers are problematic. I've been trying out various products to see what works best for me. Been working to level up my skincare routine for my much "wiser" skin. All of your info has been so helpful Dr. Dray as I've been doing a deep dive into skin care. Wishing I'd known this in my much younger years! 🙂🙃
I love Centella in products. I’ve been using the Purito Centella serum and a gel/cream product called Madecassoside (it’s a little lighter than Cicaplast Baume) the first for day and the second one overnight. They are both so soothing for my skin! I also love the Missha Time Revolution Artemesia Essence. Thanks for mentioning other products to consider.
Dr. Dray- I just had to share something with you. I’m trying to cut unnecessary products out of my skincare routine to simplify things. A couple of products that you recommended in some recent videos checked all the.boxes for me so I went ahead & purchased them; the first is the Aveeno oat gel moisturizer & the second one is the Rovectin skin essentials activating treatment lotion. I gotta hand it to you that so far, so good. I’m loving these products and they feel right for me. As a bonus, they’re also more affordable than some other skincare I was trying. THANK YOU for being you because you help so many of us out here on your channel with your knowledge, patience, humor, Costco trips, coffee mugs, smiles, “Well hey guys”! & more! You’re the best and I appreciate your work! ❤️
I just ordered the Topicals Faded brightening gel, it has nicinamide, tranexamic acid, azelaic acid, melatonin, kojic acid, centella, and licorice root. Might be a good one for you to try out Dr. Dray!
Thank you Dr. Dray for your very thorough discussion on Centella and its varied components. Listing them will be so helpful when searching these ingredients out. Btw, you look great. Your skin is so clear and healthy looking. I like your leopard sweater (love animal prints), your necklace and earrings. Very pulled together and classy. You rock!
I have rosacea and I’ve been using the La Roche Posay Cicablast Baum (thanks mom) for 5 years. I have truthfully only seen great results with this product. Granted, I do not use it every day due to how strong it is.
If you have oily but also a little dry irritated skin don’t have any fear to use Cicaplast, infact is a true skin saviour!!! I had also acne and Cicaplast combined with 10% azelaic acid cream extremely calming and soothing but also pore unclogging plus Cerave literally perfected my skin like the best!!! Best wishes to you all with your skin 💫
It is perfect !! Anytime my skin burns from products or gets sensitive from retinol I use cicaplast on it as a moisturizer and it soothes my skin ( because sometimes I can’t even use my cerave tried n true ) I just use the cicaplast boom
It's perfect. I have been using it for quite some time on my cheeks because my skin is dry there and I like the feeling of it. And I like how it is thick and it makes my skin look good.
@@JHTjersey same!!! Noon at the point where I can use cetaphil again, but my routine is still simple. Cleanse, moisturize, then the baume on top and that’s it if I’m not using tretinoin that night
Thank you for telling us all the names of the centella components. Sometimes I am at a loss to find ingredients in my skincare that are claimed in the names or product descriptions in the inci lists.
My personal favorite is Benton's "Goodbye Redness" gel, it works very well as basically a serum step before a moisturizer. I've seen a lot of improvement in my skin ever since I started using it, it really calms the skin and I feel like I get flare-ups of acne less often. :)
When I first saw “cica” products, I thought it was referring to the French word for “scar,” which is “cicatrice.” I don’t think that’s why they’re named that way, but kind of cool that those words are in the same domain of skin!
I just did a google search (was quick, so might have gotten smth wrong) and from what I could find the French word (which apparently also exists in English) comes from the Latin cicatrix. And it seems like Centella IS referred to as cica cream (nickname) because it helps with wounds/scars. So yeah great observation, it's all the same root lol
Thank you for the clarification about cica and centella! I love the Cosrx cica products. I got the Cicaplast and while it is too heavy for my skin as an allover treatment, it is wonderful as a spot treatment for irritated spots and it feels so cool and soothing, instead of thick and sticky like most healing creams.
I have a research background and really appreciate your summaries of the science behind ingredients (for example when you talk about stimulating fibroblast cells and the pathways that are activated to do this). I find it interesting and helpful to understanding!
Another great Centella product is Some By Mi- Miracle Serum- 14.5% Centella & Miracle Cream- 70% Centella. I really like this brand & have been using their SPF with no problems. I also like Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream in the tube.
I would love to see a video on the best one step/one and done moisturizer. I am trying to get away from using tons of serums, etc. and would love to know the best overall, multipurpose moisturizer that can replace many things. I currently use Cerave moisturizing cream and figure that is going to be pretty good.
I was just researching about this the other day.... Thinking of getting the Cosrx Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream for my night time moisturizer. Has niacinamide too, along with centella and ceramides, glycerin, panthenol and ha
It’s great! But it’s very thick just so you know. I have dehydrated oily skin, use Differin every other night (just started 2 weeks ago) and it’s heading to winter where I am, this cream (more like a balm really) really helps me keep that hydration, moisture and retinoid irritation. On my 2nd tube now 😊
I appreciate you bringing up chafing under the breast! I have very large breasts and have been struggling with that. Will definitely try that balm out.
Cicaplast Baume saves me from myself! My skin problems are usually from my own doings, so I reach for this product pretty regularly. Also I absolutely love Round Lab! I use their sunscreen, it's pleasant and sits well under makeup.
I think you have been reading my brain in doing this post! I have concerns with redness from using a retinol and have considered laser treatments for dealing with the redness. I might try a centella product first! You are such a skincare rockstar! Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom ❤️
Thank you for introducing me to CosRX! I started Tretinoin this year and their products are really helping with the irritation. My skin loves it!...(also the LaRoche Posay Cicaplast)
That Aveeno Oat gel moisturizer is my new favorite. It’s a little rich for my finicky skin and sometimes I form comedones from using it too many days in a row, so I combat that by rotating a cleanser for oily, acne prone skin. I love it too much to just stop using it. Makes me look lifted, glowy and takes years off my face.😳 I just ran out so I’ve been using LRP Lipikar while my skin is still in its winter freakout phase. Wanna try the Cicaplast. I just adore LaRoche-Posay.
It is a wonderful ingredient! I notice the redness went away after a few weeks. I hope you can review the Iunik Centella Calming Gel Cream. Its one of my best centella product
I’ve been using the Aveeno Oat Gel at your recommendation, and I’m loving it! I have had face eczema (not currently flared) for years, so I’m very limited with products that are safe and effective. Applied over the Hada Labo gel, it’s been a winning combo. Thank you!
LRP cicaplast balm b5+ does have centella asiatica leaf extract, says the ingredient list. not only madecassoside. i have just bought one here in switzerland. it does say " new and improved formula" on the box so they might have added it since the making of your video over 2 years ago. i have bought it for my face redness after sauna and i have to say - i love it. also paired with bioderma's photoderm andti redness sunscreen that you reviewed here for us on this side of the world. thank you so much, dr. dray!
I love Centella! It's such a soothing and calming ingredient. I use a moisturizer that contains Centella to reduce any irritation from chemical exfoliants, benzoyl peroxide and adapalene. My favorite product with centella in it is the Etude House Soon Jung Hydro Barrier Cream. I think i need to try one of the CosRX products that you recommended, since the Aveeno Calm & Restore series haven't been sold in Indonesia.
I have been using the Aveeno oat gel moisturizer for so long! Almost since it came out! I love it. It’s hard for me to try other ones because I keep using it instead!
Been using COSRX Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule AM after cleanse and before the cerave 30 lotion, and my skin is less red, irritated and more homogeneous in the T zone. I've also added a Licorice serum in the PM routine. It's been two weeks now, less scratching the face :)
Good timing! I just had a biopsy and I’m building a regimen to reduce the chances it will leave a noticeable scar 😊 Also, do you have a video covering hemosiderin? Thank you Dray! ❤️
VE Tsai I think I have it on my shin and my dermatologist said he believes it’s left over from bruising. I wanted to see if there was ways of reducing it
You are the only creator I watch for skincare advice! Other channels either use way too many products or create fear mongering over chemical sunscreens or parabens. No thank you!
Thank you so much talking about how eczema flair up is related to your fibromyalgia. I never had eczema till about a yr ago. I take Duloxetine (not for depression) for fibro. Makes so much sense.
About 20 years ago, centella asiática was a boom, used to improve cellulite and circulation of legs. It used to be available in creams, capsules and lotions
Yes! Over 40 years ago my mother started using Centella Asiatica by 'Bioforce' Dr. A.Vogel's , Swiss made by the late legendary doctor A. Vogel, namely 'Symvita creme' and ' Symphytum creme' it is organic too, in my opinion still one of BEST anti-aging products you can buy and should have!~
Hi Dr Dray! You’ve GOT to get your hands on the CosRX Purefit centella toner. It’s very watery and perfect to layer under a heavy moisturizer. I get relief from a rosacea flare up within a day.
My holy grail for my acne Cosrx Centella blemish cream. I used it as a spot treatment,2-3 days my acne healed. I love applying it especially when my acne is so red and just starting. It calms my acne the next day.
That La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is MAGIC! My derm has me use it under my retinoid. I love it, it dramatically improved my acne scars within days of using it. It heals my skin so quickly and beautifully 😻
The Bioderma Cicabio cream is also a fantastic cica cream Dr. Dray! You should definitely try it. It’s great as a spot treatment too. Maybe like an alternative to the LRP Cicaplast baume, idk but it’s worth trying.
Lately I have been experimenting with green tea and rosemary extracts by mixing a little in with my Cosrx snail essense to excellent results. I also do this with the ascorbic acid toner that I mix up and keep in the fridge (It never oxidizes before I can use it up, and it has been adjusted to about a ph of 3 by a tiny amount of baking soda). In the future I am going to try mixing in centella extract, since it combines well with vitamin c. Between the tretinoin, the microneedling, the snail mucin, exfoliation, vitamin c, and the centella, I am sure I will have the glowiest skin on the block! 😊
True. I like it as well as I use it during the day after night Differin tratment. Good when combined with Cerave.
That's interesting to know

Top 5 ingredients for acne, wrinkles, collagen, hyperpigmentation...
I’m wondering if “adenosine” or “glycine” would be in a Top 5 ingredients video for wrinkles!

The Aveeno one. That one is really great. 🙃
Greetings Veronika Jelenc hope u r well n Happy Wednesday😀👍💜....
I can’t wait to try it!
Really like this focused ingredient approach.
I swear by the Some by Mi AHA/BHA/PHA Miracle Cream! It has a high concentration of centella and has transformed my skin in the best way.
Sounds great🌸
I’m amazed that you know about that uriage product !
That Aveeno Oat gel moisturizer is my new favorite. It’s a little rich for my finicky skin and sometimes I form comedones from using it too many days in a row, so I combat that by rotating a cleanser for oily, acne prone skin. I love it too much to just stop using it. Makes me look lifted, glowy and takes years off my face.😳
I just ran out so I’ve been using LRP Lipikar while my skin is still in its winter freakout phase. Wanna try the Cicaplast. I just adore LaRoche-Posay.
Saponins, that's so interesting - is that the same as the part of a plant that can be made into a soap?
This is my favourite skincare brand. Urigae! Thanks for the review! I’m using the daily gel creme and serum! It’s so lightweight! Love Uriage ❤️
Can you talk about Uriage products in general? Like a video about them?
Ok, this is going to sound silly but you are literally the first person I have subscribed to on TH-cam. Thank you for your videos!
Thanks for taking time to put words in description. So helpful. Thank you Dr.Dray ❤️
It is a wonderful ingredient! I notice the redness went away after a few weeks. I hope you can review the Iunik Centella Calming Gel Cream. Its one of my best centella product
I’m not on fire, she says with a smile 😃 lol
But we all know she is!
Gave me a chuckle, anyway!🤣
that was actually cute :D
Yassss! I’ve been waiting for this topic!! Thank you Dr Dray!
Thanks for watching
this is crazy i was just searching for centella products and you uploaded it the same day
I’ve been using the Aveeno Oat Gel at your recommendation, and I’m loving it! I have had face eczema (not currently flared) for years, so I’m very limited with products that are safe and effective. Applied over the Hada Labo gel, it’s been a winning combo. Thank you!
Waiting for my Aveeno gel cream to arrive based on your continued recommendation! Can't wait!
I can’t wait to try it myself!
We call it Gotu Kola here in India and it's in many skincare products since years, age old ingredient as per Ayurveda too
Been using COSRX Hydrium Centella Aqua Soothing Ampoule AM after cleanse and before the cerave 30 lotion, and my skin is less red, irritated and more homogeneous in the T zone.
I've also added a Licorice serum in the PM routine.
It's been two weeks now, less scratching the face :)
I've got 3 of the list! 🙌 My skin love them!
Uriage is an amazing brand broadly used here in Europe, richer in thermal waters than Avene one
What do you mean richer? Is their thermal water better?
The Saint of Skincare delivering again! Liking the steaming coffee added and chapters 👍🏻☕️ 🔥
love my coffee
Greetings U. Charlie hope u r well n Happy Wednesday😀👍💜....
Happy Wednesday uncle Charlie enjoy your day friend 😊 😀🌺🌻

Good timing! I just had a biopsy and I’m building a regimen to reduce the chances it will leave a noticeable scar 😊 Also, do you have a video covering hemosiderin?
Thank you Dray! ❤️
Hemosiderin is a a pathology finding.
Have you googled it? It may not be dermatological. Either way, I wish you the best!💕
VE Tsai I think I have it on my shin and my dermatologist said he believes it’s left over from bruising. I wanted to see if there was ways of reducing it
Dr Dray my dermatologist believes I have it on my shin from previous trauma. I wanted to see if there are ways of reducing its appearance
Please review pureology for hair it’s quite expensive and I want to know if it does what it claims
Yeah what are your thoughts
Please Dr. Dray 🙏
Abbey Yung has a number of videos on pureology products.
You are the only creator I watch for skincare advice! Other channels either use way too many products or create fear mongering over chemical sunscreens or parabens. No thank you!
i get eczema flare ups whenever i have a fibromyalgia flare up and the cicaplast baume is a game changer for those times
Thank you so much talking about how eczema flair up is related to your fibromyalgia. I never had eczema till about a yr ago. I take Duloxetine (not for depression) for fibro.
Makes so much sense.
Top 10 Uriage skin care products plz !?
Another wonderful video. Thank you! It's might be strange, but the Cicaplast from LRP seems to actually calm my rosacea. :-o
Vogel, namely 'Symvita creme' and ' Symphytum creme' it is organic too, in my opinion still one of BEST anti-aging products you can buy and should have!~
@@bronyraur100 Where can I buy this products please?
As always I find myself coming to your channel for great info, great product recommendations that I can afford. Thank you so much!!!😊
Hi Dr Dray! You’ve GOT to get your hands on the CosRX Purefit centella toner. It’s very watery and perfect to layer under a heavy moisturizer. I get relief from a rosacea flare up within a day.
Please make a video regarding products and ingredients safe for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers...Thank u for saving our skin...
My holy grail for my acne Cosrx Centella blemish cream. I used it as a spot treatment,2-3 days my acne healed. I love applying it especially when my acne is so red and just starting. It calms my acne the next day.
I LOVE the Cicaplast Baume! I bought a backup for myself and one for my mom 😁
Dr. Dray: If you see smoke I’m not on fire.
Us: Oh but, yes girl, yes you are.
Me: That sounds like something someone who was on fire would say.
That La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is MAGIC! My derm has me use it under my retinoid. I love it, it dramatically improved my acne scars within days of using it. It heals my skin so quickly and beautifully 😻
I keep seeing comments like this. I really have to try it now
Thanks for letting us know, Doc, coz i'm one of those who thought that Cica = Centella!
The Bioderma Cicabio cream is also a fantastic cica cream Dr. Dray! You should definitely try it. It’s great as a spot treatment too. Maybe like an alternative to the LRP Cicaplast baume, idk but it’s worth trying.
great video, next products with licorice root please 🤭
I really love that Round Lab Mugwort cream. It is HEAVEN SENT!!! Works really well with my tretinoin days and on my exfoliating days ❤️❤️❤️
Is it good for dry/combo dehydrated skin & enlarged pores? Does it clog pores?
@@emmagal14 it's good with any skin type and i didn't experience any clogging
I am loving the Aveeno Calm and Restore moisturizer. Fantastic product!
