    So I literally just did my first calls EVER today and used this information. Out of 15 Facebook leads, I got 2 appointments this week. I know that’s not mind blowing at all. But I don’t think I’ll be trying anything else! Can’t wait to see how the rest of the week goes, and the weeks to come. Thanks Cody!

      @@THEZHIMSELF well. Sold one policy. After doing it a couple more weeks, idk if this is the job for me. It takes a lot of no’s to get a yes... at least for me. I have two little girls and it seemed like I was spending so much time on this. But if you’re single or just in a relationship, no kids yet, I think it’s a great opportunity! I think people can do it with kids too but maybe better for those that are ok not being around much

      @@briannapeters4936 lol! I'm in health insurance. So, so, so many people come to our office and have no clue how much work and time it is. Sometimes I don't even bother learning the newbies names because I know they won't last long. It's good money but be prepared to work 60+ hrs a week and (sometimes) go weeks without getting paid. You are 💯 correct. I am a mom to 4 teenagers and even though I work crazy....3 years in with the same company, I cannot imagine working for anyone else. I love being my own boss.

    • @ViolentMLG
      @ViolentMLG 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@briannapeters4936 Yeah you're speaking the untold truth about the industry.
      Not saying everyone will fail out, but it takes ALLOT of money, ALLOT of leads, and a decent amount of training to be successful.
      Its why allot of people tell you to 'blindly follow the path'.
      You have to be comfortable to drop $500 for 20 leads and spam the SH out of them because you just paid $500 for the leads and are desperate, and then repeat that over and over and commit 1K-2K to hopefully having something churn out of it.
      People don't tell you that 'exclusive' leads aren't exclusive. Yes, THAT LEAD is exclusive to you, but nothing is preventing that person from filling out 50 other leads (which they always do) so you're competing with TONS of agents trying to get them first, including telesales who will quote them and try to sell them right there.
      Mail in's aren't as bad but still exist to some degree.
      You'll spend your days triple dialing people (in a row) just to have 10/20 not answer (so you spam them more), 8/10 of the other 10 tell you they're 'busy', going out of town, not whoever you're calling, not interested, etc etc, and your training and ability to respond in the moment might secure you some appointments, and the other 2/10 will probably be rude or curse at you lol
      Its a business that can make money but it will take ALLOT of mental fortitude. If its online leads these people don't realize you paid $25+ just to get their number, to them you're just an annoying nobody, so these people fill out forms on a whim.

    -- I sold over 300k in premiums my first yr in p&c insurance, here's a bit of advice I wish I would've known to do from the start, as it made dramatic changes in my close rate once I started..
    Always moving right into the questions I find helps, I like saying " hey, _name__, i'm finishing up on this quote for your car insurance, I just want to confirm, your still driving the "blank" (or w.e limited info you have)? (then hit em with all the qualifying questions after) don't give them a way out with yes or no questions, knowing your qualifying questions specific to what you're selling is also key before you even get them on the line, this is what is going to keep you in control of the sale from start to close.
    Another huge word of advice: ASK FOR THE SALE! I had this screw me on hundreds of occasions, but simply just asking them what's their preferred way to make the payment after you make your presentation makes a giant change in your close rate.
    Great advice in this video!

    Hi Cody! Watching your videos like crazy. I sold cruises for 9 years and I just got my life insurance license two weeks ago. Selling cruises from inbound calls and selling insurance from cold (ish) calls is like night and day. I got a script and tried it on 3 calls and I shook my head and knew I needed something else. It was dry, boring, long and complicated and I sounded like a chipper robot. It was awful. I NEED this to work- I’ve got no other options and I know I can, but I still need to be authentically me. Thanks for your videos, I’m learning a lot and I hope your methods work for me as well as they work for you!

    Questions specific to my situation: I work as a broker for Company Z and all the people I call are already clients with Company Z. The EFSs i'm working with say that it is good to use the company name because it communicates to the client that we already have an established relationship (since they already have other coverage with us) and that we are trustworthy. Do you think this is still a bad approach since I'm not buying leads? Also - wondering your thoughts on how to spin the 'I'm getting back to you' statement because the clients didn't fill anything out. They just already have other coverages with Company Z. Thanks for any insight!

    Let me ask a question! I do you find the prospects you call? Do you blind call them out of a phone book or do they fill a form of interest (for instance), with name, phone number etc. so you call them. I leave and work in Greece and I am really interested on how you find prospects there… Your videos are awesome BTW. Thank you a lot!!

    If you don't say the company 9/10 they will ask to make sure your not a scammer. Always say what company your with, not disclosing that will not help you at all.

    “Which” close is good… that’s your authority… but seriously it’s better to get a “no” on purpose to move a conversation. Like you know fishing… so you throw a fishing “and skiing” thing to get a better conversation. Mislabeling on purpose is powerful.

    These are very good selling point, my question is "I'm getting back to you" where does that come from? leads? which I'm assuming becouse you have the names hobbies' like fishing, ect. as a prospect, if there is no before information on that person, if someone called me and said I'm getting back to you as to YOUR request, as an example life insurance, I would probably say what? I don't know what you are talking about and hang up, not to be negative, I just want to know all the techniques, Please if anyone has the answer or suggestions please comment, I'm not crazy about buying leads becouse the more leads you sell, is more money for the seller, so probably all the leads will not all be good leads?

    “We’re getting back to you” is a garbage idea. I tried in insurance industry working for (commercial property) and the prospects did not trust me at all and one even repeated that phrase verbatim “we’re getting back to you” and called me out and was not interested clearly. However this video DID make an enormous impact on the first 3-5 seconds of call and the overall quick strategy that seems to be avoiding objections and questions which are also vital to knowing your prospect to get to agreement/sales

    Im assuming this is for face to face sales. This script is for getting the appointment? you wouldn't be asking qualifying questions like why do you need this coverage, your budget, how much coverage do you need etc? that'll all be asked when you meet the client?

    Are we selling life insurance or trying to catch wild boar? This is life insurance, and the prospect should be approached with the utmost respect. Why do so many people hate salespeople? I bet the answer can be found by asking why do so many people who sell act like jackals? The people being contacted are real people and life insurance should be sold by people who realize that. It's not damn conquest of a wild animal. If the prospect is even slightly interested.... just chill down and enter the call with reverence and respect and all else will fall into place.

    • @CodyAskins
      @CodyAskins  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you buy leads, 99% of the time you are calling the correct person and you should assume it is the right person from the start. By saying, "Hello can I speak to Betty?", you're allowing them to quickly say "Oh you have the wrong number" or "Betty's not here right now." The way I do it essentially eliminates this initial objection.

    Love the video! I just don't understand why you wouldn't use your last name as well in the introduction, I get not saying the company name; but I feel like including your last name leaves a better first impression because it makes you more vulnerable to the client. With a last name they can look you up, but with just a first name you could be anyone. I may be wrong, but anybody have a reason that would be worse than just first name?

    • @CodyAskins
      @CodyAskins  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for the comment Brett.. that piece is really a matter of preference but the reason I do first name only initially is because I'm trying to make it sound more like a friend calling them rather than a business call right away... Saying first and last name right off the bat sounds very formal and most the time leads to them hanging up quickly. Say if I got a new phone and I was calling one of my good friends to tell them I have a new number, I wouldn't say "Hey. this is Cody Askins, I got a new phone."... I'd simply say "Hey buddy this is Cody, just picked up my new phone." Long story short, it sounds more like a friend calling them when you just use your first name on the initial introduction.

    Cold calling is the ultimate skill. If you master it, you have no competition. You have the whole ocean to fish from.
    I know a telemarketer who was so good, she was able to take a "sorry, you got the wrong number" (a REAL one) and set an appointment.
    My jaw dropped. Sometimes it is not the script. There are a lot of other intangibles that are very difficult to explain.

    even if they say no to remembering that data, get used to being assumptive. Because you will always have the NEXT 5 SECONDS of the call anyways, thats when you just keep going to CONFIRMING and LANDING with the customer.
